@ans17. I'm on cycle day 7 now... (day 4 of the Femara). I have one more day of the Femara then the injections this weekend and then dr first thing Monday morning...I think at this point, I would be fine with twins. When we first started this process, that terrified me, but after 6 IUIs... I'm ready for what we can get... But... Triplets is a bit scary!! I'm hoping to see some good size follicles on Monday... and hoping that all goes well... It's getting harder and harder to continue to take off of work too
  • Options
@Kim I know its very emotionally draining and my wife is having the same issue with work. I try to go to as many as I can but its hard. I hope everything goes well on Monday.

Thanks for all of the support! It's nice to be able to come here and talk to people that can relate.
I'm a little nervous about the shots this weekend.... hopefully it will just put us one step closer to BFP
  • Options
@Kim Thank you as well. This board has been such a wonderful support system for my wife and I. How did everything go this weekend with the shots?
  • Options
Just finished the 2nd one. It's never fun sticking a needle in your stomach.... but it's not terrible...
I'm anxious to see how the scan goes in the morning.... hopefully things are perfect!
  • Options
Scan looked pretty good. Have one follicle a little over 21 and one just at 17. They did some blood work today as well (not sure for what...). The nurse said she will call this afternoon to say whether to do the trigger tonight or tomorrow...then IUI will be either Wednesday or Thursday
  • Options
@Kim that is awesome about having two nice ones. Even if the second is at 17 by the time you go for the trigger you will have two great ones. My wife always had blood work done for estrodial and a couple other things they looked at. My wife thinks this one took because she got a cramping similar to implantation that occurred before. We're gonna test the end of the week but we find out for sure next Monday. Keep us updated.
  • Options
@ans17. Yeah I think they tested Estradiol and LH. I am doing the trigger tomorrow night which means IUI on Thursday. I would be thrilled if they both released and we ended up with twins...after all this time it would even worth it!

I'm excited for you guys! Let us know how everything goes
  • Options
@Kim everything you've been through I hope you get twins. It would def be worth it. Good luck on Thursday! I think we're gonna test on Thursday or Friday.
  • Options
    FOR SURE!!

    Fingers crossed for you!!!
  • Options
@Jami Are you guys going to test tomorrow morning? I'm so excited for you. Hoping you get your BFP after such a hard loss.
  • Options
@Kim we're gonna try first thing tomorrow morning. Last time we tested though it only showed us a positive 4 days early so we will probably test again Friday lol. Thanks we're excited and nervous. Even if we get the BFP I don't feel like we really can get too excited until we get to 13 weeks. Is IUI tomorrow? Let us know how it goes.

    hello everyon...

So, my wife and I are in the middle of the Two Week Wait. I was inseminated on the 26th and started taking Progesterone suppositories on the 28th. This is our third IUI and we were aggressive with our process this time by using injectables (hence the progesterone). So, now my TWW has been even more difficult because I am experiencing a TON of symptoms (I won't bore you with them)- but the majority of them can be explained away due to the progesterone. However, not all of them can...there are slight changes that could not be from the medication at all...and it's just an overwhelming feeling lately of just "being pregnant" which I know probably sound INSANE to most people...hopefully not here.

And of course, even though we vowed not to take HPT this time, we did. We saw a very slight line and both of our heads immediately said "Yay!" because we have never even seen a double line EVER!However we both doubt the validity due to the HCG shot I took on the 24th.. Has anyone had anything similar? And I guess I am wondering what are the chances of a "chemical" pregnancy showing faintly on a HPT?
  • Options
@ans17 Congrats! so much joy and happiness your way!
  • Options
@Kim we took the test this morning and it was negative. We will test again probably tomorrow morning. Good luck today!

@Ifippin We're not sure yet about being pregnant. We did however have a miscarriage a couple months ago. We never did the trigger shot which is why we have tested early. A slight line is what we had the first time around and it was BFP. I don't know enough about the trigger shot to know how if effects a false positive. We hope you guys get your BFP. The symptoms can get crazy and everyone is different honestly so don't give up hope. I don't know much about chemical pregnancy but usually it happens after the HPT. Are you bleeding a lot?

@Jami How many dpiui are you? Is it still a little early? Hoping you'll get a BFP in a day or two

IUI went great today. Numbers were perfect... 80% motility. 14.4 Mil little swimmers. And with those two follicles, hopefully we have some what of a shot this time. We start Progesterone tomorrow.

Oh... Also found out that our dr will be leaving on March 1. His family is moving out of state... So really REALLY hoping this one takes... I don't want to have to find another dr....
  • Options
@Kim I believe it is day 10dpiui. It is def still too early but my wife has to test like every day from 5 days before her period. Those are great numbers. I hope you get your twins. Is there another Dr in the same practice? Where are you guys located?
  • Options
@Jami 10 days is for sure still too early. Hopefully in a few days it will be a better outcome.
Yeah, there are about 5 or 6 other Dr's in the practice...so all of my records and such will still be there... it just sucks starting with someone new.
We're in Houston. Going to Houston Fertility Specialists. Things are pretty crazy around here with the Super Bowl this weekend. . We live close to all of the action and my Dr's office is down the street from the stadium...so getting there this morning was hectic.

    What about you guys?
  • Options
@Kim its so strange but we had the last IUI on a Tuesday also. We ended up with a positive on a Saturday so we're gonna try again tomorrow lol. Today was another negative. We're in NJ with a practice of 4 Drs. I'm glad you guys don't have to switch the practice. I can only imagine how crazy things are down there. Good luck this weekend. I'm sure you can't wait for everyone to go home lol.
  • Options
I would say keep trying until she starts her cycle...then you will know for sure.
I'm glad we don't have to switch practices too... All of our info and history will be there and we can just pick up where we left off.
Things aren't as bad as I thought they would be, however, it is Friday now and the game is this weekend.... So I'm sure the craziness will pick up!
Hope everyone has a safe weekend!!

    Aloha ladies!
Sorry we have been MIA for about a week or so, been trying to work through the chemical pregnancy. We had a scare of it possibly being an ectopic pregnancy due to my hCG levels went back up a week after they told us that we had a chemical pregnancy. We went back to the doctor this past Wednesday, and ectopic was ruled out due to my hCG levels going back down to 50. I go back this Wednesday for more blood to be drawn in hopes that my hCG will be back down to 0, or below 5, so that we can start the process again once AF comes. Been spotting for about a week now, after a heavy flow, can't wait for that to stop! We have been keeping our selves busy doing things outside, surfing, standup paddle boarding, parasailing, days at the zoo, and going to multiple events. Tonight we will be seeing Anjelah Johnson in Honolulu for her live taping of her new stand up. That should be fun!

I am glad that y'all sound as things are going well. Good luck to y'all! Lots of baby dust!! We are hoping to be able to have another IUI this month, we will see though.

Keeping busy is key. SoundS like you ladies are having lots of fun!
Did you take progesterone... I can't remember. I'm starting that tonight but I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to take it. I'll call the Dr on Monday. They gave me 21 suppositories but I don't think I heard them say how many days...
  • Options
@WestFamBam We're glad you're ok and we know how draining it is to go through it. You guys are living it up and keeping busy which is a great thing. I hope you can start right away. Our Dr did tell us you're even more fertile after a miscarriage. I hope you both have a wonderful weekend. Let us know when AF comes.

@Kim We took the progesterone in the AM and PM contiunally until either the first trimester ends or when we tested negative we would stop it until the next IUI.

Well we have a little news to share. We got a little faint line this morning. Hoping that we're pregnant again and nervous also. We hope you ladies have a great weekend.
  • Options
YAY!!!! Thats good news!!! Keeping those fingers crossed that the line gets darker...
I'm feeling a little nauseous this morning...too early for any type of moring sickness so I'm guessing it's the progesterone
  • Options
This TWW never gets any easier.... Today is 5dpiui...Other than being nauseous, I don't really have any symptoms. I'm trying not to stress over it and just let it go... but, its hard.
  • Options
@ Kim We never had symptoms either really except my wife swears are 6dpiui she gets the cramping when the implantation occurs. I hope everything works out for you Kim. It would really awesome to get pregnant the same time.

We got the official news BFP. We're so nervous this time around. Hope everyone is doing well.
  • Options
That is comforting to hear. I have to keep myself away from the Internet. I start doubting everything.

I would love a pregnancy buddy!!! We would only be a few weeks apart!
Is your doctor doing anything different with your guys this time? Any different meds? I'll keep you both in my thoughts...hoping this one sticks!
  • Options
No I didn't take any progesterone. My doc told me that I did not need to take progesterone because I am not doing injectables. Still waiting for AF to come.

@Firsttimetxmoms - TWW... The waiting game is never fun. Baby dust sent your way!!

@ans17 - CONGRATS!!! That is so exciting!!! We are so happy for the both of you and hope everything goes well!!

@Kim I can't imagine how hard its been for you and I know our journey has been different but try to hang in there. Really everyone's body is different and I will say when my wife had a million symptoms it was the progesterone supplements. The implantation cramping around 6dpiui and right around when we got the results both times she started having these veins in her breasts. As for us we're not doing anything different. We never had the trigger shots or took any injectables. My wife takes an AM and PM progesterone suppositiory and a PM progesterone pill. Our Dr says it reduces miscarriage but honestly I think that part is luck because we took it last time.

@WestFamBam Thank you! Have you gone for blood to check your HCG levels? If it is close to zero then AF should be coming soon. It took us forever to get there but my wife's levels were really high and we we're 9 weeks into the pregnancy. I know it's hard and sucks but you will get there soon. You will probably get BFP next time around. Our Dr said you're even more fertile after for the first couple months. We're thinking about you guys.
