  • I am COMPLETELY in shock.... the dr. office just called and apparently we are having a girl!!!! I would have put money down that I was having a boy! We're still completely thrilled and can't wait to see out little one grow!
  • @Shauna that's awesome! Sending you some positive vibes....

@Kim, Congrats on the baby girl!!!! We're so happy for you. It's so exciting to know and to plan ahead.
  • @Jami Do you know how accurate those tests are? My Dr has said he hasn't had any incorrect. I just thought for sure a boy! Haha But to be clear, I am still super excited! I leafy work and immediately bought baby girl clothes! Haha
How's your wife and little boy doing?
  • This TWW seems to be draggingggg. Today marks 4piui. A lot of things going on though! My wife and I found a new place and will be moving next month. It is only about a mile away from one of the many beaches here in Hawaii! So we are going through everything to prepare for a yard sale before the move. We also got a puppy that we will be picking up at the end of this month!

@Kim CONGRATS on the baby girl!! How exciting!!
  • @Kim I've heard that its about 95% hahaha. It's exciting when you know and you start buying clothes. We have been buying like crazy. Do you have any food aversions?

@Shauna hang in there...I know it's hard. I would try to stay busy with the move. That's really exciting about the move and Congrats on the puppy.

We went to the Dr tonight. Baby is doing good. A nice strong heartbeat.
  • @Shauna Yay for Puppy!!! I have a special spot in my heart for puppies. We have 2 ourselves that keep us pretty busy. The move should definitely keep you occupied. BUT make sure to take it easy.. No heavy lifting.

@Jami 95% is pretty good!! I have already bought a few outfits. But now that summer clothes are out, I can't buy too much since she will be born in November. I have told my mom and sister in law and my mom texted a picture to me of a little outfit she bought. She's pretty excited. We'll be telling my in-laws this weekend it's a girl so I'm sure they'll be buying stuff too!!
  • We have been buying like crazy too. I actually told my wife we should stop for a bit till at least after our baby shower lol. We are probably going to register next weekend. We go to maternal fetal specialist on May 31st so I'm excited to get to see him again. I hope you're enjoying your weekend and feeling good.
  • @Shauna How are you feeling? I've been thinking about you. When are you testing?

@Jami It's hard NOT to buy things. Registering will be fun!

Update on me: All is well. Still feeling great! Fatigue is easing up as well as the breast tenderness. Never had morning sickness. I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow.... Officially in the second trimester. Haven't gained ANY weight yet, which I am thrilled about. My Dr said as long as I am maintaining, he is fine with that. Still not really "showing". My pants aren't fitting as well, but doesn't look like a baby bump at all. haha

Hope everyone is doing well! Have a great week!!
  • Good morning ladies!

I am feeling okay. Not having many symptoms at all. Today is 11dpiui. I tested yesterday morning and got the faintest faint line of all time. Tested again this morning and it was a BFN. Not really sure what to think about it. Both time I used First Response 6 days sooner. My wife and I have been looking into other donors. We may be switching if this cycle results in another BFN.

So happy to hear that the both of you ladies are doing well!! I cannot wait to start buying things and doing our registries! I hope y'all have a wonderful week!
  • @Shauna hang in there but sometimes you still can the BFP. We started getting a faint line at 12 or 13dpiui. I hope everything works out this cycle. What was the count on the donor you're using and does he have any pregnancies?

@Kim I'm glad you're feeling well and the no weight gain is a double bonus. On the other hand my wife gained 8 lbs in a month and our Dr wasn't happy hahaha.
  • Today I have had some cramping and a TERRIBLE headache. I wasn't able to test first thing this morning because I was rushed and completely forgot. I wanted to test though, debating on testing this evening or just waiting for tomorrow.

The count this time around was 14mil, I believe. I was told that he does have reported pregnancies.
  • @Shauna I would just test in the morning. We got our BFP on 14dpiui. If you can make it through the day, it would be better in the morning. I took a digital and regular test at the same time! I didn't trust either one. haha

Keeping my fingers crossed for good news in the morning.
  • So this morning I woke up around 0400 with cramps. Went to the bathroom and AF is here. IUI3 wasn't successful. My wife and I have decided to change donors and we have already chosen which one. We are feeling okay and ready for this next cycle. We have a baseline ultrasound tomorrow and will then begin a hybrid cycle. My wife will not be able to make it to the ultrasound due to work, but I told her it's okay because it's just a baseline to see where I am at. Doctor said since I will be doing a hybrid cycle, I will have to be more closely monitored. I will know more tomorrow! Have a great Thursday, ladies! :)
  • What do you mean by hybrid cycle? like..a medicated cycle?

There were several occasions my wife couldn't make ultrasounds with me due to work. Its understandable. Life gets in the way.

As a matter of fact, on the day of insemination, something came up and she couldn't get off and that's the one that took!! haha

Hang in there!! I know it's a long road, but 3 tries isn't bad.
  • What I got from the doctor earlier this month - A hybrid cycle is injections and Femara - I'm not 100% sure though. I will know a lot more tomorrow!
  • Oh ok! Then I guess you can say we had a hybrid cycle... Femara days 3-7. Follistim injections day 8-9. Follicle scan and Trigger shot day 10. Then IUI day 12
  • @Shauna been traveling this week but I'm caught up now. What happened today? I hope this little adjustment is all you need to get the BFP. So what day are you on now?

@Kim is that what worked for you the hybrid cycle? How are you feeling? Any new cravings or food aversions?
  • Today I am on CD5. The doctor has put me on 5mg Femara days 3-7. Then I will be doing Gonal F injections until my next ultrasound which is on 30MAY17. Then we will schedule the IUI depending on that ultrasound. She put me on a low dose of Gonal F because of the four day weekend that kind of throws everything off. So my last day of Femara will be 24MAY17. Gonal F from 25MAY17 to 29MAY17.
  • @Jami Yep... we did Femara, Follistim (generic of Gonal F) injections and then Ovidrel (trigger shot).

@Shauna Hopefully this works for you! Only did 2 days of Follistim (150mg each). What is your dose?

I'm feeling great! Getting more energy in the evenings so i'm not just a zombie :) I'm actually able to cook and clean and do a few things around the house and go to bed at a normal time. Still no cravings really... or aversions. I'm not super emotional either. It has been a really easy time. I listen to her heart beat almost every night for a minute or two... It's a nice way to end the day.

    Hope everyone is well
  • The doctor has us at 50mg each day. My wife leaves for work on Monday, 29MAY17 off island and will be gone until Thursday night. Which means, I will be giving the shots to myself, including the trigger and possibly doing the IUI without her there. I understand work happens and things come up, so it's okay. Although I would really love for her to be there.
  • The shots aren't too bad. Just don't psych yourself out. They're thin needles. A little longer than I thought. But not bad at all. Your story is sounding similar to mine...remmeber my wife didn't get to come to our last IUI either and it finally worked!!
  • @Shauna how are you doing? Hope everything is going ok with the shots. I had to leave my wife at the IUI when we got pregnant so maybe a good sign after also Kim's experience lol. Hope you have a good rest of the week.

@Kim I'm glad you're doing well. It's interesting nothing yet with the food. My wife keeps eating things she normally doesn't like. Have you been shopping a lot?

We spent almost 4 hours in Buy Buy Baby and still didn't finish our registry. This is a lot of work. We see a fetal maternity Dr next week.
  • Hello ladies!! I had my ultrasound this morning and things went great!! My wife was not there, but I took a video to include her! There are two follies on my right side, 19mm and 20mm. My doctor told me to trigger as soon as I got home and I will be having IUI4 tomorrow at 2pm!! I could not believe it when I saw the follies on the screen!! My wife and I both had no idea what to expect and couldn't have received better news!! My wife comes back on Thursday... I cannot wait! We got our puppy last week and talk about no sleep. Lol. He is definitely preparing us for a baby. Lol. I hope you ladies are doing well and that you enjoyed Memorial Day Weekend
  • @Shauna that's the best news! We're so happy for you...I'm so glad everything is working out this cycle. Let us know how it goes tomorrow. Crossing our fingers...

We're doing good...See the specialist tomorrow.
  • Had my IUI today!! 18mil swimmers. Now to make it through the TWW!

I hope you ladies are doing well!!
  • @Shauna those are awesome numbers. So excited for You! I'm sure the puppy will keep you occupied on your TWW.

@Jami How did the specialist go today? Sorry I've been MIA for a bit!

Things are going well here. I have a bit of a cold I'm trying to fight off. Hard not being able to take any meds. I go back in 2 weeks to recheck my thyroid. Hopefully everything has leveled out again. He also is going to do a blood test to check for Spinal Bifida and something else (I forgot) then we go in on the 23rd for our anatomy scan. Can't wait to see that little girl again!!!
  • @Shauna those are great numbers...Yay hoping this is the cycle. Did you have two follicles that dropped?

@Kim are you feeling any better? That scan is amazing. We just had ours this week. The test is probably called the Clari test. We had one a few weeks ago.

We're doing good. Baby boy is looking good! We go back to our regular Dr next week and back to the fetal maternity dr the end of the month for another ultrasound. He didn't want to fully cooperate with the scan. He's def my child lol...Hope you ladies have a nice weekend!
  • Hi ladies!

@Shauna Great count!!! Hopefully one of those guys sticks!! I bet you can't wait to test.

@Jami This weekend has been pretty rough. My cold has been kicking my butt. The stuffiness went away but I picked up the WORST sore throat.... and can't really take anything. My wife went out late Saturday evening to get me some Cepacol. It was on the list of approved medications from my doctor. I was almost in tears, it hurt so bad. Things are a bit better today, so I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Can't wait for the scan :) Glad your little guy is doing well... getting bigger and bigger. I am still BARELY showing... just feel a bit wider than normal lol

    Have a great week!
  • @Shauna you're half way there today!!! 7 more days!! How are you feeling?
  • @Kim are you feeling any better from the cold? Have you been buying a lot of stuff or registered?

    @Shauna how are you doing?

We're doing good. Went to the Dr and the baby is almost a pound. I feel like the pregnancy is flying by. We're a little over halfway there.
