  • Lyssy - from what I have read it is good for the uterine lining, but it's recommended to discontinue during early pregnancy. I was just going to use it until my iui then stop as the lining should be good by then.
  • Hello ladies!
Sorry to hear all of your sad news. Stay positive & know that it will happen for you.
Just had my second OB sono at 7wks and 3 days. Everything is looking great. Had a baby at 7 wks & 1 day with a strong heartbeat growing as it should. I certainly had a a scare with the Hcg levels but they had gone up to 16,800 on the last visit at 6wks & now they no longer chexk it. My uterus is double its normal size & I can feel it. Had to get new pants & already went up a cup size. Didn't know maternity clothes were so pricy either but so exciting to go shopping for my growing belly & boobs. Boobs are super sore & 1 cup size bigger. Peeing every 20-30 min which is particularly hard at night (which I can hold it for 1-2 hrs) and during the day at work (which seems crazy because of my constant trips to the restroom). My OB panel blood work was ok but I hve to check my thyroid again pretty soon cuz it had gone wacko a month back & my dose of medication had to be adjusted. Doc said that I have 2 more visits with fertility clinic & then I "graduate" to my regular OB after 12 wks. Got taken off the Vivelle dot (estrogen) patch cuz my levels were high but still gonna be on the Crinone (progesterone) vaginal suppositories for 4 more weeks. Ruining all my panties when the cream starts leaking but afraid to use liners just to avoid getting an infection. So with the happiness comes all these changes in your body that seem surreal specially when it is your first. Still freaked out that the Doc said we are not out of the dark until after 10 wks when miscarriage becomes much less likely so praying for a sticky healthy baby.
Wishing you all the best and sending more baby dust your way.

    - LNM
  • BFN for us this month and feeling really discouraged. One vial left, fingers crossed for next month.
  • So sorry Rebecca - I really thought this was your month. Is the donor no longer available? Fingers crossed November is our month.

LNM - So exciting! Congratulations on everything looking so good, all of those side effects are just signs of all the changes your body is making to accommodate that little baby! FX for you over the next few weeks, can't wait to hear how your pregnancy progresses, you are our good news story of the board right now!
  • So happy for you LNM! It seems like everything is going great!

So Sorry Rebecca, I thought this was your month too! Hopefully the next round will be lucky for all of us!!!

Are any of you taking selenium? If so, how much and when? I have heard mixed reviews about it and I am trying to decide if I should add it to my supplements
  • Hi Lyssy - I am taking 1x 200mg capsule of selenium per day right now, I'm just going all out there and trying everything this time round!! From what I can see, it is good to take in small amounts.
  • Hi Julie- I started taking 1 x 200mg capsule of selenium yesterday. I am also taking a prenatal with 800mg of floic acid, DHA, and a vitamin D3 capsule (because i have a deficiency). Do you take anything else?
  • Lyssy - I take a prenatal also, plus CQ10, zinc, B6 and Royal Jelly (do you think I'm obsessed?!!) I figured I may not need them but I'm all for trying what I can right now! These are just the things I identified from the link I posted above which I thought sounded most relevant to me for lining, helping follies and general fertility/implantation help.
  • So exciting LNM! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you!
  • So, just ordered delivery of my next 2 vials for the end of this week, I figure I should need them by Sunday or Monday (I hope!).

Just for info for anyone who might be using raspberry leaf tea etc - I've toned down the supplements and stopped the tea as I had a little bit of spotting yesterday (cd10) I started worrying that dosing myself up in all the supplements is possibly taking a toll plus I have read about some people saying that raspberry leaf tea has messed with their cycles so not wanting to take any chances! Taking a couple of days off then just going back to my normal prenatal.

Anyone else ready to IUI in the next few weeks?
2wishfulmommies, did you not say you were going for November?
LNM, how are the symptoms? I hope everything is good!
  • Hi there-

I should be this week. I go in tomorrow to check my follicles. If they are ready then I will have the trigger shot and then iui on Wednesday. If they are not ready tomorrow, then my RE has me coming in everyday to check. So our iui will probably be this week.
  • Good luck Lyssy! Hopefully you have at least one good sized follicle in there and can trigger. I am looking forward to the waiting game to be over also - I just want to get on with it and be in the TWW already.

Off topic - anyone hosting Thanksgiving? My sister in law pretty much invited herself to us (which means the rest of the family too!) so we are hosting!! At first I was a bit freaked out as I'm not really a big one for hosting parties but I'm coming round to the idea - it's our first time hosting a holiday event together and by then I should be in the TWW so no pressure!!
  • We have an ultrasound and blood work tomorrow. Hopefully we will be doing the trigger shot within the week and do our iui. I'm so ready to be in the TWW and not just dreaming and having so many tests. My wife is tired of transvaginal ultrasounds. Sigh. It will be worth it when the BFP comes!!
  • Hi Elliejo, Good luck with your ultrasound and blood work, Sounds like there should be at least 3 of us in the TWW at pretty much the same time! I know exactly how your wife feels about those ultrasounds, I am OVER them already!
  • Hello everyone!

Follicle scan is today. If all looks good, will trigger late tonight and IUI Friday morning.

    Sending baby dust to all!
  • Hi everyone! Sorry I have been MIA for the last week. Just needed to get all of this out if my head! But I have been sending positive thoughts and baby dust to all of you! Looks like this is a big week for all of my friends on this board.

As for us, I just took my last clomid pill today and have an u/s on Monday to check follies, but will likely not trigger until later in the week. Really trying to find inner strength and peace for this round. I remember when we conceived out daughter, we were so calm and relaxed about it all. But it probably helps that it was our first attempt, so we didn't know how to behave! And our unfortunate loss came as a result of our first attempt after DD was here. So again, we were like newbies! Now with a few more failures under our belt and only 1 vial left (available at all), I am trying to get back to that stress free place of believing what is meant to be will be. Finding things to do that I find enjoyable and meaningful...and distracting!

One great way to be distracted is to host a party, Julie! I love hosting people, especially for the holidays! It is so nice not to have to go anywhere, first of all. Secondly, you control the menu...which is helpful for someone like me who doesn't like turkey. And lastly, people, often bring you hosting gifts! We are also hosting for Thanksgiving, we provide the main dishes (manicotti and chicken), plus beverages and a side. And we have everyone else bring the other apps, sides and desserts. Works out great! Especially when they all take their own casserole dishes home to clean! I hope you enjoy it Julie! Anyone else hosting this year?

    Rebecca
  • Hi everyone, I had my 2nd iui this morning with one folical and a sperm count of 22 million. I started to surge on my own yesterday, but they still gave me the trigger shot to ensure timming. Unfortunately my normal RE was not In today so her partner did it. He was extremely rude about me being overweight and told me the I was 50% less likely to get pregnant, along with some other nasty comments literally seconds before the procedure. Needless to say I began my iui in tears and found myself unable to stop crying because of all these new hormones. Apparently the guy is a jerk, and all the nurses reassured me that i shouldn't listen to him. I have talked about my weight with my RE and she is not con earned about my ability to conceive because of it, but it was still a pretty shitty way to have an iui. I'm feeling a little down but trying to stay positive and hopeful. Hoping this is a lucky month for everyone. Let the count down begin!
  • Prbs- Hosting the holiday will be an excellent distraction! Baby dust to you.

Pols12- You're one tough lady and always so supportive of others. I'm so sorry to hear that you're feeling less than optimistic, but remember to try and stay positive. If you can't do it for yourself, I'll do it for you and keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you!

My wifey and I started our IVF cycle. Tentative retrieval 12/02. Don't know what to expect so I'm trying to stay positive myself and hope that we never have to go through a retrieval again!

    Good luck everyone!
  • So doctors appointment went well. We had a follicle that was mature. We did the trigger shot last night. Our first IUI is scheduled for Friday morning at 8 am. Not looking forward to the TWW. Blood test to see if we are pregnant is the day after thanksgiving. So many emotions. I hope the waiting doesn't kill us!! Baby dust to all getting inseminated this week.
  • Looks like the 'ole group is back together again! I've been taking Clomid and tomorrow AM get an ultrasound & bloodwork. Plan will probably be to do the trigger shot tomorrow night and then Saturday AM do the IUI.

    ::blows baby dust::
  • Rebecca - We sound like we might be having our iui at almost exactly the same time! I am thinking it is likely Sunday or Monday. I know what you mean about relaxing, we were so relaxed about it the first time and we conceived, so we thought this was going to be a breeze!! How wrong we were! I'm feeling very peaceful about it all this month though, which is a new one having been much more hyped the previous times. I love your hosting protocol - I am totally embracing the notion of people bringing their dishes (then taking them away again!!) FX for your ultrasound, hopefully theres a couple of great sized follies all ready to launch.

Lyssy - in the TWW already, so exciting! Ignore all the negativity of that a**hole - that is so completely unprofessional, why people like that choose to be in any line of medicine is beyond me. Keep positive, I'm sending you so many good wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving gift.

Elliejo- Good luck for your IUI, are you doing one insemination or two? FX for you!

2wishfulmommies - good luck for your retrieval and good luck with all the hormones between now and then!

Livvy - good luck with the ultrasound today! between us, there's going to be a ton of us in TWW at almost the same time! Baby dust is flying - this has to be the month, so we can all be pregnant together too!!
  • It's going to be your month Prbs! I just know it!
  • We did our IUI this morning. Numbers looked good. 14 million count with 54% motility. We are so hopeful! Only 1 IUI this cycle. Are officially in the TWW. Pregnancy test the day after thanksgiving! I'm hoping we all get good news in the next few weeks! November can be an awesome month.
  • Hello again ladies :)
2dpiui here. I surged early (CD11) this time but they went ahead and had me trigger for extra timing insurance. I think it's lucky we iui'ed on a Friday 13th :) Our donor's count and motility was excellent and I was working with a big beautiful follicle this time. Praying that everything lined up perfectly for us! What wonderful news it would be to get a BFP for Thanksgiving weekend!

Baby dust and best wishes to all! Hopefully November will be lucky for all of us :)
  • Thanks 2wishfulmommies!
We unexpectedly had our iui on Saturday morning - I had a smiley face on Friday but couldn't get to my RE for ultrasound and bloods until pretty late. This is the earliest I have ovulated since back in May when we started this process so it was something of a surprise! By the time I got to the RE on Saturday morning I had ovulated, so we had the one iui, my RE was pretty confident it had only just happened based on my bloods. So just the one insem this month, I am a bit doubtful that this will be our month, I have a horrible feeling we missed it. Just focused on a busy few weeks which should hopefully keep my mind off the TWW. I think the bonus here is as Rebecca says - we are totally relaxed because we are sure it didn't work!!
FX for everyone, its been a busy few days for everyone getting their iuis! Here's to lots of positive Thanksgiving tests!
  • Thank you 2wishfulmommies! That is very sweet of you to say! My friend is currently undergoing IVF treatments, and I know they can take a toll, both physically and emotionally! I am really praying for you both!

Julie - Surprise, you had you iui early! It is great that the doc was able to do it on Saturday. Usually when you get the smiley, you don't ovulate for about 24 hours, so your timing may be perfect. Funny enough, our best friends went through the same thing...certain they missed it, only did 1 inset (though they normally did 2), nonchalantly prepping for the next try...and their baby is due on Christmas Eve! As much of a science as some of this is...there is another part that is harder to explain! For whatever reason, it worked exactly when it should. And I believe the same will happen for you, me and everyone else on this thread!

Emerge and Elliejo...fingers crossed for you both in the TWW!

Livvy - did you iui on Satruday as expected?

There are so many of us in the TWW this time, it is crazy! Hopefully there will be lots of exciting news around Thanksgiving!

As for us, we have our Rollie check this afternoon. I will keep you all updated!

    Baby dust to all!
  • Good luck this afternoon Rebecca!
I hope we have a result like your friends!
FX for all the TWWs on our busy little group!
  • Hey all! I have 2 follies growing right now...both about 15.5mm. So we go back on Wednesday morning for another follie check and likely a trigger shot, with iui on Thursday afternoon.
  • I have my first iui today, 2 weeks is gonna seem like forever!!
  • Hey Pols--good luck with your IUI! 2 follicles is perfect. I went in on Friday and they found 6 follicles--one was "overripe," one was ideal, and four were under mature. I took the trigger shot that night and Sunday AM had the IUI. It was really painful this time, for some reason. We had to have a long talk w/ our nurse about the risk of multiples...and the idea of 3 is terrifying, but we also know a woman who had 6 follies and her IUI resulted in a negative. It's really funny to me, too, that a bunch of us are REALLY excited for Thanksgiving--not just for pumpkin pie;)
