Zoe_2011@live.com. thanks
I am just glad to get caught up with everyone! Glad you are back and you have a healthy baby!!
Sibling and Austin - big congrats to you both!!
I'm doing well, in the home stretch of my own pregnancy. My little Sadie Rose is due October 30th. So far everything looks great; all of her tests came back good and she looked perfect at her ultrasound about a week ago. No swelling, diabetes, high BP, or anemia for me, so I'm feeling pretty good; just tired, especially with 21 Kindergartners every day. Yay for Fall Break in a week!
I'm so glad everyone is doing well!
I hope you get another BFP soon, like austingurl. Thinking about you and hoping for the best.
Anyway, if it is twins, the dr will probably tell you about vanishing twin syndrome, where you can lose one but not the other. Don't let it freak you out and don't google it. LOL. The Internet is scary sometimes. Just do what the dr tells you and what will be, will be.
Also, ask a lot of questions. My dr is great, but I think he thought I knew more about this than I did. (Probably because I came in pretty well educated regarding the IUIs and stuff, so I am sure he thought I had done a lot of research on twins. He was wrong.) I mowed my grass one day around 7 weeks, and when I went to see him at 8 weeks, I was quickly told to stop doing that stuff. I also walked about 3 miles at least 3 or 4 times a week. I had kept doing that, and he told me at that 8 week appointment to stop it. Your situation might be different though. I am 35, had a previous miscarriage, and am overweight. He told me the risk for me outweighed the rewards of keeping up my exercise routine. I had no idea on any of this stuff. So, I did a lot of things wrong in the beginning, but luckily no damage was done. Just ask questions regarding excersice, diet, and stuff.
I think the best advice he gave me though was when he told me full term for twins is 38 weeks. That moves up your due date 2 weeks. Then he said we are going to make it our goal to get to 38 weeks, but you are going to plan for 34 weeks and have everything ready at 30 weeks in case they come early or you need bed rest. So, basically he told me from the beginning I was on a short timeline to get things together and ready to go. It helps with planning showers, buying items, and budgeting to know I need everything in place by 30 weeks. Plus, I am already mentally preparing myself for bed rest and have talked to my bosses about it. I have a low stress job, so we are hoping if I get put on bed rest I can still work from home. This will help me save my leave for when the babies arrive.
My dr is great about preparing me for worse case scenarios but encouraging me to hope for the best. He already has me planning for bed rest, the possibility I might come home and the babies will need NICU longer so I might have to leave them for a while, and such. It helps me to have that in the back of my mind so I am mentally ready for it and preparing myself. Also, he already told me I am going to be a scheduled C-section because even if the babies are in the right positions, having the first one puts stress on baby 2 or can move baby 2 out of position. So, I am fully aware vaginal birth is not an option for me. Again, it might be different for you because I have a different medical history, but it's nice my dr tells me these things early so I don't get shocked at the last minute.
Oh, and pregnancy symptoms are worse with twins. Weeks 6-11 were awful. I threw up constantly and slept 13 hours a day but was still exhausted. It gets better, I promise. I am still tired at 14 weeks, but I am feeling my energy slowly return and I haven't thrown up in a week. If you are throwing up, stay hydrated. The babies need water for their sacs. I actually lost about 5 pounds during the first trimester because I threw up so much, but I forced water down constantly. No fun, but is has to be done!! And don't freak out when you outgrow you pants at 8 weeks. That is normal for twins. It can't keep them secret for long. They show fast. :)
Anyway, good luck!! So happy for you.
My 20 DPO blood test showed 3228, so it a little more than doubled in 48 hrs. According to some charts, still above the median for twins but it's so confusing...since it's also within range of some single baby charts. I have ultrasound scheduled for Oct 18, so I'll just have to wait and see then!
I do have a LOT of multiples in my extended family so I won't be surprised if it turns out that way...very overwhelming to think about but my POV if it's meant to be, then it's meant to be :)
Keep me posted and I'll do the same!
I felt them move for the first time the other day. Simply amazing. It was just a little flutter, no kicks yet, but I just loved it. I am getting so anxious for my next dr visit on 10/23. I love getting to see them and how they are growing. Hopefully, I can find out exactly what I am having:)
Seattle Suz how are you feeling? Did you have your 12 week Nuchal test yet?
We are doing well Hunter is still not home but he is only 38 weeks 2 days. Hopefully before he is 40 weeks he will be home.
Eeh, how's it going?
I am doing great! I was so tired. I would sleep 10-12 hours at night and still need a nap during the day. I could not focus on anything at work even during my second trimester. I found out at my last OB visit that my Vitamin B was slightly low, but my Vitamin D was extremely low. I increased my vitamins and feel so much better. I am still tired sometimes, but I can actually focus through it and keep my eyes open during the day. It has made a huge difference.
I've 'graduated' from my fertility clinic and had first OB appt. last week, which was great. I go in for the 12-13 week nuchal and other genetic testing in a couple weeks.
How are you both feeling, doing etc?
