11 dpiui (BFN) Today I broke down and tested. I've been nausea for two days. Other than feeling nausea the symptoms that started are signs of AF which is due 7/2 , tender breast and mild cramping.
I know it's possible that's it's still to early but....
13 dpiui beta test tomorrow, this is the most nervous I've been in years. Today quick periods of nausea, emotionally over a movie, lower back pain, mild cramping(feels like AF cramps) and breast are still tender. I will take a test before leaving for the doctors, so I won't be a nervous wreck waiting for a call.
If it is negative, I wonder if I can start IVF this cycle or if I have to wait it out.
Time will tell.... Good luck to everyone in the TWW.
I'm actually still up working and losing confidence because the cramps are getting more intense like AF. Even though she's not due to show her face until Wed. At least I will know for certainty, and can make plans to move forward with either result.
Sorry to hear that KBT. I'm waiting for AF to start my next cycle of IUI. My doctor wanted me to take a break for one month. I'm due next week and hoping it comes on time! I will be ordering my meds and donor sperm tomorrow. I'm also going to start up with Acupunture again next week. Keep us updated and I'll do the same!
I go for my IVF consult, per conversation over the phone the transfer won't take place until Aug :( I was hoping for July. I may still ask because I'm off for the summer
Good luck! If you don't mind me asking does your insurance have a limit on your fertility benefits or are you paying out of pocket? My insurance has a limit but insists I try IUI 6 times! Needless to say the benefits run out at 3 IUI's :( hopefully my next go will be successful or I'm not sure i can try again with out saving up for some time :(
Next phase of the journey (IVF) may begin tomorrow, if the RE office can coordinate with insurance today. (Fingers crossed, otherwise I have to wait until Aug) the current game plan is Follistim for the rest of the week, monitoring next week, then retrieval and xfer. Best wishes to everyone on their journey
KBT- Good luck! I'll start my IVF process mid-month assuming (like you) everything lines up with insurance. Jenn-That kind of stinks with your insurance. The fact you have to try 6 IUI's I can understand, but the IVF is the more expensive process that should be covered.
I tried IUI once, but I'm 42 and didn't want to mess around, so I'm going to jump straight to IVF. My insurance will stop covering any fertility procedures at age 44.
Thanks, I'm moving forward meds have been overnighted. I did 2 IUI cycles. So praying this works and I would love to have twins boy and a girl then close up shop :) But will be more than happy with 1
Good luck and I will continue to chronicle my journey
I wanted to offer some positive encouragement. I just completed an IVF cycle and I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant using donor sperm (13258). It was the first cycle with donor sperm and I also have 4 frozen embryos. So good luck with IVF! It definitely works!
Yesterday I had my first ultrasound after starting 300 units of follistim. I had 2- 10mm follicles in each ovary. It was great news to see that my right ovary was cite because I thought it wasn't functioning because for the last 2 iui it showed no sign of activity.
Hopefully tomorrow will show a few more, so that I increase the odds of having 2 quality blasts to implant and 2 to freeze.
Thanks a and jenn. This morning my ultrasound revealed 1-13, 2-11, and 8- under 10 in my right. For some reason my left wasn't easily viewed so I'm not certain what is transpiring on that side. Hopefully the APRN will be in the office fir because she never has an issue find my left ovary whereas the Dr. always have difficulty. Until Friday.
Third monitoring this morning. RE says I'm progressing but not quite ready. R: 1-16.5, 3-13, 2-13, 1-11, and still some under 10, Left was slightly visible 3-13 and 1-11. Tonight I add Menopur to the mix, let's see what Sunday will hold.
Monitoring this morning show 8 on the right: 1-20, 3-16, 3-14, 1-12. On the left was 4, 1-17, 3-15. Let's see what this afternoons results say. I'm thinking the dr will have me go two more days on stims..
@KBT- 18 eggs! That's fantastic. Let's hope for lots of fertilization. :) as for me...my cycle has been temporarily put on hold. Doc found a polyp in my uterus that she went and removed on Friday. Surgery went well and should heal up no problem. Apparently the uterus is very resilient. Lol. Doing my baseline ultrasound for this cycle, we discovered a cyst (follicle) probably left over from my last IUI that is producing hormones, so we have to wait for that to go away. Just one thing after another. Taking it in stride though as I just know I'm setting myself up for the optimum baby environment. ;) so biding my time on birth control pills until we do my next u/s on the 29th. Keep us updated on the baby blasts!
My experience with egg retrieval: I only remember the first few minutes. I recall watch the ultrasound screen and feeling the needle moving around and saying to the nurse I feel that. Next thing I recall is waking up in recover.
Make sure you take the entire day off! Some website say you can return to activities in a few hours, no so. I was in discomfort all day, bumps in the car ride home, sitting, standing, laying etc.. (I also didn't fill the Rx for pain just a Tylenol)
This morning I'm moving a little faster, my abdomen is not painful to touch and I'm able to move around with significantly less pain.
Of the 18 retrieved, 8 fertilized with ICSI. I'm not certain of the 18 how many were mature. Tomorrow morning I will get another call from embryology updating development and probably deciding if I am having a day 3 or 5 transfer.
My RE simply wanted to maximize my odds because of my insurance coverage changes for infertility in Oct.
I have to admit, a part that I struggle with is in normal fertilization the best sperm wins. I didn't ask if there is a process in selecting the sperm or the simply go fishing for the first the catch.
Sf13, my RE always does ICSI on frozen donor sperm because they can be a bit sluggish after thawing (they warm up in the human body) and he wants to make sure that every egg that can be fertilized is.
