newbie, first timer here. all of the acronyms are so foreign to me lol I am on day 6 after my first IUI. waiting waiting waiting. supposed to go in for blood work on Wed 2/12 for a yay or nay. Is it worth using an at home pregnancy test before then? how early can a test show a positive result?
You will get used to all of the acronyms..lol I felt the same way in the beginning. I got my first positive this month day 10piui which means post IUI. If you are going to test I recommend a test with lines such as first response or to be quite honest I used some of the cheap dollar store and walmart ones as some suggested as the other ones add up very quickly. The tests that say pregnant or not pregnant take a higher level of HCG to detect the pregnancy. I got a pregnant at day 12,but everyone's body is different and implantation occurs at different times. Don't let this process discourage you. I am 4 weeks pregnant on my 5th IUI and had a chemical pregnancy with my 4th. You have to stay positive and keep busy. Good luck and baby dust :)
congratulations! I'm 40 and 1st IUI was w/o any fertility drugs. I've heard that fertility drugs can lead to false positives on a pregnancy test, but I'm assuming that if one is not using fertility drugs, a positive would be a true positive. Thanks for the tips!
The trigger shot can lead to false positives, but is generally out of your system but the time you would actually test. I have always tested out the trigger around day 5 and always received a negative. With you not using any meds a positive would mean pregnant :)
I got my beta results today and everything is going good :) I have my first ultrasound 2/17 so keeping my fingers crossed that everything will look good.
My partner and I are going to look at our situation down the road and may get back on the wagon. At this time we are going to take a break and revisit later.
I wish everyone the best of luck. I still find myself checking on everyones posts.
I was on Femera 7.5mg days 3-7 and a trigger shot and IUI 36 hours later. It's still early so I am excited, but still nervous/scared. I hope you are doing well :)
My partner would like to try again this time but, this has been very draining. The emotional roller coaster is very hard. I try not to think about every little thing but, find myself excited for every feeling then to be let down. The second round really got to me as I felt.... inadiquite ( may have spelled that wrong ). The doctors would also like gor us to try this round but, I have been undecided. This process is hard and I need to learn patience.
I completely understand how you feel I went through 5 cycles back to back without any breaks. I was sooo excited when I got my first BFP on my 4th cycle to start bleeding that same night. I was heart broken. I refused to let it get me down. I stayed to myself for about a week and moved on. I thought about taking a break after the chemical pregnancy, but luckily I didn't because I wouldn't be pregnant right now. This process is very draining, but so worth it in the end. I told my partner I wasn't giving up until we got to the point that we had to financially. It is hard, but don't ever give up and stay very hopeful. It will happen! I am here if you need to talk.
Hi Melissa, I'm extremely happy for you! let us know how you and baby is doing after your fist IUI.
Wellsbull, Hang in there. I know what you mean it's an emotional roller coaster. We are on our 8th try. It took us this long for the doc to tell us to change donors as it wasn't my partner but the low sperm count. This is our 1st try (8th) crossing fingers. We also took a break, but when the time is right, you will have your bundle of joy.
I have not had my IUI yet, but I am getting nervous. I am 38 years old and I have tried IUI 5 times in the past with no success. I had a few problems with my ovaries, but my new doctor is giving me hope because I had given up. I go next tuesday for my ultrasound to see if everything is going good so that I could schedule my IUI for the end of the week. My nerves are getting the best of me.
Rainebowluv, My partner is 38 too, and this is our 8th time. First time with a new donor. Check the donor sperm count, that makes a difference. Try To meditate and relax, it's very important. Sending you baby dust!
Aslgirl4lifekt, Yes spotting is very common, if you bleed a bit and no blood clots it could still be implantation. Don't stress
:( we tested this morning, just one line. not even a faint second one. her 28 days is tomorrow, but on period tracker it says on the 14. so we will see what happens. She wants to try 1 more time at the doctors with the new donor. It's hard, as she got pregnant last time. We will see hopefully the baby will be a November baby and born in our 9yr anniversary. :) Rainebowluv, it's a roller coaster but in due time we will have our bundle of joy. Best of luck and sending you lots of baby dust.
Siciliaflorez19- so sorry to hear about your BFN. I really am hoping this next cycle is the one for you! I am crossing my fingers that everything will look good at my 6 week ultrasound on Monday. You wait so long to get pregnant and once you do it's more waiting which seems even longer. I am happy to be pregnant, but now I just want to know that everything is good. My chemical pregnancy last month made it worse. It's almost like you expect something bad to happen. I am hoping and praying for positive :)
My friend told me we tested too early. She is due to have her period between today and tomorrow.. So i'm Crossing finger.. It's not over until the fat lady bleeds lol.. I'm so happy you are doing great. Let me know how your ultra sounds goes. It's hard not to stress, but try to meditate or do some yoga. Wish you all the best. Diana
I did not remember how much anxiety is involved in this process. I stopped trying about 8 years ago because a doctor told me he was not going to help me anymore. He said I have tried so many times without success and there is no need to continue trying. I recently married and I told my wife I would like to try again. The doctor I have now gave us the best news ever. She said everything looks great and there is no reason to say I could not have a baby. I go on Saturday for my IUI and like I said before I am nervous because of what happened in the past years, but I am looking at it as if that was not my time to have a child. I am now married and the time is right and I have faith it is going to happen for me this time. I have a great support system and I thank all of the ladies on here for sharing your expierences because it helps me stay psoitive when I start to doubt.
I had my 6 week ultrasound and everything looks great! Little peanut is measuring perfect and has a strong heartbeat. Baby dust to everyone! It can happen so stay positive!
