  • Yay! So exciting! Does your dr always do back to back iui's? fingers and toes crossed for the 2 of you! I'm feeling tired. Had pizza again yesterday and threw up again. Pizza is my favorite food. Idk I'm just tired today & yesterday. & I am dying to hear jenny's update also!

  • Miah-Well I must say that the throwing up sounds to me like it could be your BFP!!!!!! The tiredness as well! Fingers crossed it is!!! My doctor always recommends doing back to back IUIs...she said in her experience it does have a slightly higher success rate as it acts as an "insurance policy" type thing...it helps since frozen sperm do not live as long inside the uterus as fresh sperm would. Last cycle clearly was a bust; but holding out hope this is our month! Are you going to take a home pregnancy test?! I just couldn't bring myself to take one lol...so I just waited for my BETA...I have my fingers crossed for!!! Let me know!!!

    Courtney :)
  • I haven't decided if I'm gonna take a HOT yet I thought maybe the morning of my beta I would. I am going at like 730am then going straight to work so it may keep me calm. my best friend had a dream last night that when I went it was positive. I'm kinda okay just ready for mo day. the day of my IUI my RE walked in looked at the paper & said oh good 15mil That's great but I didn't ask any questions. How are you feeling did u take off work?
  • I hope your friend is right!!! :) I am excited for your BETA! I was so nervous to get that phone call last time! When the phone rang, I didn't know what to think! I was off that day; so I didn't have anything to help distract me. Hopefully you being at work will help distract you! Last cycle I was off work both days of my IUIs; this cycle I was off yesterday...but I am a 911 dispatcher and manpower dictated I work today :( But I feel great, no cramps...I am rather bloated though which is no fun...but overall I feel great! I had a little spotting yesterday but nothing today...Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  • Hey guys,

Sorry that I have been so m.i.a. the past few days. I went to the doctor on Tuesday morning, and my follicles hadn't grown at all. Like seriously AT ALL, even though this is suppose to be my fertile time. The doctor thinks that the low dose of femara may have delayed or stunted their development, so she has me on a higher dose until tomorrow (5 mg a day for 5 days). Needless to say, I was/am pretty upset, so I just haven't really been up to talking about it until now. I will finish up round two of femara tomorrow, and then I have another appointment on Wednesday. I am really worried that we will somehow miss ovulation during that time, since I was suppose to be ovulating in the next few days. I guess I won't be able to do so if my follicles are really small though. I don't know. I wish this was a more exact science.

Anyway, Miah, good luck on your testing!! Sounds like you may be on your way to a BFP! Courtney, good luck on your TWW!

    Baby dust to you both!

  • Jenny,

I am so sorry that you feel stuck. Stay positive...last cycle I had a similar experience. I was on the 100 mg Clomid; went for my first follicle check and had terrible lining...and follicles were all small. Went back on Wednesday, lining was good, follicles barely moved...went in on Friday, follicles DID NOTHING, lining great! They drew labs and called later that afternoon and said everything looked good, saw no reason to think they would stop growing and they said it did not look like ovulation was close naturally, so follies should continue to grow. Set up apt for Sunday, but they told me to use OPK on Saturday and if I got a positive call them. Well sure enough Saturday night I got +OPK and called them...Dr. on call said since I was going in first thing the next morning I would be ok. So we went in Sunday and I had lead follie @ 19mm and two @ 16mm (those ones actually went backwards a little in growth)...triggered me Sunday morning in office and had insemination on CD19 & CD20 (24 and 48 hours respectively after trigger). I know that was a lot of info...but I just want to show you that it all can change! And it will! Stay positive! My suggestion to you is if you feel you will miss ovulation, maybe take OPK and just see what you are getting for result. What CD are you on? Best of luck to you...stay positive! If you want to reach out to me via e-mail, it's wally030306@yahoo.com, whatever works for you!

    BABY DUST, stay positive!

  • Would work if I spelled my name correctly :)

  • Jenny- sorry about your delay in the process. I really wiah things were easier for us all. I'm looking forward to your next update. & hoping your stubborn follicles have grown. :)

Soooo I feel like crap. My stomach hurts so bad. &it's not a cramp hurt it's just a hurt. I can't get comfortable it's not even like a bloated feeling I'm not sure what it is. I had my hormone levels checked yesterday. & when I got my results call the conversation was kinda weird. First she said your levels look great your estrogen is at 48000 and your progesterone is greater than 70. The dr wants you to try to increase your salt intake, I told her I can try but I eat pretty healthy. then she goes how are you feeling? I tell her my stomach hurts & I thought I was constipated last night (thursday) but then I went on Friday morning. She said yes with your levels I know you are uncomfortable. We will see you monday. After tons of dr google searching I'm thinking maybe she meant 4800 not 48000? Idk. Then last night I was in so much pain I decided to take stool softness just to see. & that was not the reason. Any suggestions comments experiences? I wish monday would hurry I really want my stomach to stop hurting.
  • Hey all!

Miah - I am sorry that you are feeling so sick. I wish I had an answer for you as to why you would be feeling this way. Did your RE end up giving you an explanation or is it just the hormones? Let us know how it goes! When is your BETA again?!

Courtney - Thank you for telling me about your follicles. haha :) I guess I just need to hear about similar stories, so that I know things will work itself out. My biggest concern right now is that I will have ovulated between last week's appointment and my follow up (tomorrow). I've been testing with the OPKs and haven't gotten any positives. I am still worried though. :/ We'll see how tomorrow goes. Also, emailing sounds like a good idea. It is hard to check back on this site consistently right now. My email address is msshamas@gmail.com.

    baby dust, ladies!
  • Hey guys,

Just a quick update. So I had my most recent ultrasound this morning, and I had one big follicle that was 24mm and ready to go! I am triggering tonight and will get my IUI on Thursday! I am just glad that I can stop worrying, at least for a few weeks!

I hope you are all doing well. I can't wait for your updates!

    Baby dust!

    Jenny
  • Hey!

Congrats Jenny on triggering tonight. Hope this TWW goes by fast! I will be thinking about you thursday.

Went for my beta yesterday, BFP :) but I do have a ton of fluid around my ovaries which is causing the abdominal pain, I took off work yesterday today and tomorrow. The pain sucks. But I'm happy about my BFP. I go back on Friday for another beta. Hope everyone has a great week.
  • Miah!!! Congratulations!! That is so awesome! This was your first IUI, right?? Wow, you are so lucky! I'm sorry that you are still in pain, though. Does the doctor know why you have fluid around your ovaries? I've never heard of that before. Hopefully it can be quickly and painlessly removed or otherwise goes away quickly. Keep us updated on your pregnancy!

    Jenny
  • Woohooo Miah! Congrats on your BFP!!! So exciting! I sent you all an email...I thought we could give that a try!

    Baby dust.....

    Jennie :)
  • Hey ladies!! I sent each of you an email!

    So excited for everybody's progress!
  • Thank you Jenny & yes my first iui used 75 units of gonal f for 6 days then pregnyl trigger day 7 then iui day 9. Or something like that. I have mild pcos so I guess that's why she started me on injectables right away. She said that it's pretty normal about the fluid I just have alot and for me to go on a high sodium diet to try to get rid of some of it. I was reading online & it said something like once the placenta takes over then the extra fluid should go away. I'm tired of hurtinghopefully tomorrow will be better. I need to get back to work.

    Thank you jennie! :)
  • I am 3dpiui and am having cramps on and off throughout the day..is this normal? My breast look enlarged as well...this is my first IUI and I am praying that we are blessed with a child. I tool Clomid while on my cycle and the 2 days before the IUI I took my HCG shot. Dr said I had 3 eggs that were mature and also we had great sperm...36 million.

I am sending baby dust to you all!!
  • Hey mgjohnson730! Congrats on your first IUI! Hopefully your TWW will fly by! As far as the cramps, that is completely normal. It should go away in a few days and isn't really indicative of whether you will get a BFP or not. It sounds like you have a great chance though - 36 million sperm and 3 mature follicles are excellent stats! I hope you get your BFP on this cycle! Let us know how it goes!

    Baby dust!
  • Good luck. I had my first IUI yesterday April 21,2015. I go for blood work on May 9. This 18 days will drive me crazy of waiting!!!!. So far the only symptom I've had is tender breasts and slight cramping. Baby dust to all. This was a medicated IUI, so really hope it all worked. Taking injections is not fun
  • Thanks and I am super excited! This wait sure is driving me crazy though!! Good luck to you all!! Keep us updated normies19!!
  • just wanted to update and say that I did get pregnant on my first iui :) so excited
  • Holy crap, Normies!! That is wonderful!! What donor did you use?! Congratulations!
  • I used 13596. He has only been out a few mths. I go Friday for my first ultrasound. were thinking twins, we'll see what the Dr can see for now.
  • That's great! You did injectables, right? I think I am going to switch to injectables next round if my current cycle is a BFN. Injectables seem to give good results.
  • Yes, I did daily injections of Gonal. And also daily Endometrin. My Beta results were really high levels. Good luck on your next round.
  • The days really drag on during the TWW. It is so hard to think about much else except whether or not we will get a BFP!

I am currently 6dpiuu, our first attempt since we had our perfect daughter last May! My cycle has never gone back to being completely regular and reliable, so I am worried about the timing. Really good anything to give her a sibling!

I am sending happy, positive thoughts to all of you currently in the TWW.
  • Ladies!! It has been a bit since I have been on this thread!!!

Well...my wife and I are about to start our 3rd IUI cycle...sure hope the 3rd time REALLY is the charm!!! Tonight is day 3 of Clomid...follie check 5/22! Fingers crossed!!!

@normies...congrats on your BFP!!!! SUPER EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! How are you feeling? Have you had your first ultrasound yet?!?! Twins?!?! Singleton?!?! How amazing you got preggo on your first cycle!!!

@pols12...congrats on your beautiful daughter!! How are you feeling this time around?!?! May I ask what your protocol was when you conceived DD...as well as this cycle? When you found yourself pregnant w/ DD did you have any symptoms that made you just know you were preggo?!?! How many IUIs to conceive her? Sorry so many questions...I just love to hear other people's stories!

@mgjohnson...Hoping everything went great w/ your last cycle....BFP?! Would love to hear your update!!

Jenny...that bean is sticking...I KNOW IT!!!! Wednesday will be here before you know it!

Well ladies...hope everyone is well...BABY DUST TO YOU ALL!!!
  • Hey Wally! I certainly hope 3rd time is a charm for you and your wife!

With DD, we were very lucky right off the bat! We were pregnant after 1 natural cycle iui. Crazy, right? We used no drugs or triggers. Just monitored, timed with OPKs, and inseminiated at the perfect time, apparently!

After my first iui, I felt nothing at first. Then around 10 dpiui, I started recognizing symptoms: acne, hot flashes, gassy, and sore bbs. I knew in my gut by 11 dpiui that I was pregnant. Don't know why exactly. I don't typically have strong intuition...but then, I knew. My wife wasn't convinced and still wanted to wait for the blood test 14 dpiui. We ended up arguing about it because she was afraid of me being let down. I have endometriosis, so we assumed it would be more difficult for me to conceive. So imagine our surprise when I tested on the evening of 12 dpiui and saw "pregnant" on the CBE digital test. It was the best feeling!

So, this time I am trying to remain patient and cautiously optomistic, but I don't have the gut feeling...at least not yet. Yesterday was 7 dpiui and I felt nauseous and lightheaded several times throughout the day. I am hoping at was a sign, or maybe implantation, but not sure. My wife has agreed to let me test 12 dpiui, Wednesday, since that is when we got our BFP last time. Fingers crossed!

Best wishes for your follie check next Friday, that is the day of our beta! Baby dust to all!
  • Pols12! I have goosebumps reading your story!! You two hit the nail on the head when conceiving DD! Your story makes my heart smile!! I can only imagine how you two felt!! With all of our cycles so far I have not POAS...I just wait for my BETA! I get nervous....and I don't want to have to face the dreaded BFN any sooner than it has to happen LOL...So I stay hopeful right to the bitter end!!
From the sounds of it, you are extremely fertile!!!! Did you two do an unmedicated round this time as well? Do you mind if I ask what donor you are using? Don't know if you read this thread from the beginning...but my wife and I had terrible numbers from our first donor...so we switched and they were much improved with our new donor...although they were still below the guarantee. :(

Friday is a big day...all the way around! You will be getting your BFP and we will have lots of mature follies ready to trigger (fingers and toes crossed)!

Best of luck to you, your wife and DD! Keep me updated!!!!

    BABY DUST,
    Courtney
  • Hey Courtney,

We did decide to do another unmedicated cycle since it worked last time. But we have a different doctor this time around, as ours from DD is now the supervisor of Women's Specialities at our hospital. So we will see what happens!

I did read about the numbers you all we getting. That is crazy. Hopefully you will get better numbers this month. Are you using the same donor again?

Friday seems so very far away! Hoping you find lots of ways to pass the time while the follies grow.
  • Hi, thank you. Yes, I have had 2 ultrasounds and there is only one baby in there. This Friday I should hear the heartbeat :). Actually day 13 I started to feel pregnant and hasn't gone away :) Heard the first trimester is the worst. so I cant wait till it passes. Good luck to all going through this and baby dust to a positive outcome
