  • Oh and Jennie-

Your donor is a cutie patootie...and oh so smart! Neuroscience...LOVE IT! :)
  • Hey ladies! Happy Saturday! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend...this time next year our weekends will be a little more hectic but also a lot more filled with love!! :)))

A little earlier I was at the grocery store and ran into my sister and nephews (they only live two miles away) and both of my nephews just started yelling Jen Jen!!!! It just made me light up! I can't wait to be called mama! :) I am feeling so positive for all of us. As hard as this process is, it is so important to stay positive and chill. Stress in our enemy! Let me repeat that....stress is our enemy!!! I am a bit high strung and I have a pretty intense job (intense in a different way than yours, Courtney ;-))...therefor me chilling is hard, but that really needs to be my new lifestyle. It needs to be all of our lifestyles so we get our BFPs!! Who's with me?!

Courtney, I bought my tea at a whole foods store but I bet you can find it anywhere. It might be called Pregnancy Tea or Mom To Be Tea. I've seen it online with those names.

Is anyone doing anything fun this weekend or this upcoming week? I mean anything besides the obvious....trying to get pregnant!

Lots and lots of super sticky baby dust to us all!!!! I will be praying fir all of us at church tomorrow too!!! :)

    Jennie :)
  • I am using donor 13633 no1 has said anything on the boards about him before. I live in Las vegas, nevada & I'm an RN. I just wish monday would get here. Next weekend I have a 4 day weekend so I am thinking about taking a trip to California just to do something besides sit at home.
  • Hello all...

So today my grandfather passed away. He is the last of my grandparents.:( It's a very sad day. Thank goodness he died in his sleep and didn't suffer. I am heading to Charleston tomorrow so I might be absent for a few days. I hope all of you have a great week with very few symptoms (if your on meds) and lots of symptoms if you have your BFP!!! Will chat soon....baby dust always my friends....

    Jennie
  • Wow my little thread blew up over the weekend! haha.

Hey Courtney and Jennie! Sorry for the very delayed response. I had friends in town since Thursday for SXSW, so I was extremely busy! To answer your question, Jennie, I live in Austin, Texas. I'm a corporate attorney. I enjoy it and it keeps me busy most days. :) Also, I am really sorry to hear about your grandfather, Jennie. Death in the family is always so hard. Have a safe trip!

Courtney - Since clomid has good percentages of success, your nurse is probably correct to suggest staying on your same regimen. Especially since you have not had any negative reactions and you respond well to the meds. I'm obviously not a doctor, but your RE and nurse sound competent and they have had success with people you KNOW! I think that would be a great relief.

As for your vials, I really hope that CCB gives you a credit! 1-2 Million isn't really excusable. When my doctor checked my samples and only got 7 million, she immediately called them to see about a refund. They basically told her she "under counted" and gave her some conversion factor that when incorporated into the numbers ended up making my count exactly 10 million. It sounded really fishy, but what can you do...

So I finished my Femara on Saturday, but I learned a valuable lesson in the process. Never, NEVER drink on Femara! I am not a big drinker at all, and I hadn't had any alcohol for about two months prior to Saturday. Since I had friends in town this weekend I was dragged out to the shows and parties. I had a few glasses of wine and proceeded to get the biggest headache of my life. I had a headache all day and into the middle of the night. I woke up at 3 am and still had this terrible headache so I finally took an ibuprofen (I don't like taking any type of meds if I don't have to.). It was awful, and now I am really worried that I mess up my stims somehow. I have heard that drinking on stims doesn't affect anything, but I am still super paranoid. After all the time and emotional energy I've devoted to this process I don't want some red wine to derail me! :/ I may call my nurse and she what she has to say about it.

I also have my follow up sonogram on Thursday!!! I'm SO excited! Hopefully I will have some great follicles! :)!

    Anyway, baby dust to all!
  • Hello everyone,

Happy monday! I was supposed to work this morning except my appointment kept being pushed back because my dr had an emergency at the hospital. So I'm finally done. 5 follicles lead is 20mm. I will do my HCG trigger tonight at 915 & I go in on Wednesday for incemination. :)

Jennie I'm so sorry for your loss. Praying for you & your family hun.

Courtney, how many days do you take the clomid? You may have said it already sorry.

Jenny, hoping you have great follicles thursday!

    -miah
  • Hello Ladies!!! Sorry I was away for a bit...the weekend was crazy with work! Monday and Tuesday I was off, so I was playing catch up on life!

Jennie- I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You and your family are in my prayers...be safe in Charleston. The loss of a loved one is the hardest thing to go through in life; may you and your family find comfort in one another and all of your memories of your grandfather. Stay smiling!

Jenny-OMG today was insemination!!! How are you feeling?! I am guessing the red wine turned out to not hinder you at all! You had GREAT FOLLICLES! Still waiting on CCB and their credit determination...but our next samples are ordered and we are hopeful this new donor will be our lucky one! I am taking the Clomid for 5 days...last cycle I took Clmoid CD 5-9, however this time around I am taking CD 3-7...tonight is my last dose! I have follicle check on Monday @ 7:45! So fingers crossed that I have your kinda follicles then!! Last cycle, it took forever for my follicles to grow! At trigger, 2 were @ 16mm and 1 was @ 19mm...so this time around I hope these lil guys ramp it up! So excited to hear how today went for you! BABY DUST....!!!!!!

    Courtney
  • IUI is done guess I just wait now... I took the day off work came home had lunch watched a movie & took a long nap. I didn't sleep the past 2 nights. I was extremely crampy. After the procedure I was okay then got really crampy Again. I start my progesterone gel on Saturday night. I go in 3/30 & again on 4/3 for hormone check. Then 4/6 for pregnancy test.

Courtney congrats on tonight being your last night of clomid. After the ultrasound on monday what happens?
  • Jenny,

WAHOO! IUI is done :) Your TWW will fly by; keep yourself as busy as you can....try not to think about it. Hard to do I know...but before you know it you will be through it! Are you starting Crinone, progesterone gel? Sorry that you have been awful crampy for the few days :(...

Well, if my follicles are looking good Monday, we will trigger and then have IUI Tuesday & Wednesday...if on Monday, they aren't quite ready, we will have to go back for follicle check and take it from there! So fingers crossed, I have some ready to go follicles!

BABY DUST....Keep me updated on how you are making it through!!!
  • Miah-
I apologize, I put the wrong name in the above post :( Also, realized I did the same in previous post...SO SORRY!
  • I figured you were talking to me :) it's hard to keep up I completely understand. Yes I'm starting crinone, every night then I guess we will adjust after my hormone checks if need be. Hoping your follicles are big on monday. She has coming to take the pregnancy test 4/6 which is 12 days from today. Is it usually 14 days from trigger shot? If so then that's right because I did my shot on monday. I work the next 2 days then off for 3. Hoping to stay busy this weekend. Baby dust to you.
  • Hey Courtney and Miah!

I actually haven't had my insemination yet. I have an appointment in about an hour for my second ultrasound. Hopefully my follicles are good (not ruined by red wine!!) and I can trigger soon. I don't want to have to go back for a third ultrasound. I am wondering how well the femara worked. We'll see!

Good luck on Monday Courtney! I hope you have a quick and easy TWW Miah!

    Baby dust to all!!

    Jenny
  • Jenny-hope your ultrasound went well.

Ladies- how did you guys feel the day after your iui. I was told I may have some small cramps, which yesterday I did have alot. But today I'm working and I feel like I gotta walk super slow & my abdomen hurts a little. I ate lunch & left yuck, I know that it's too early for implantation it's only been 24 hours but mayb risidual from the hcg trigger? Idk.
  • Miah,
I took my BETA exactly 14 days from the first IUI of the cycle...we had first of two IUI on 3/2; and had BETA on 3/16....but in any case I think your timeframe will still detect pregnancy! As far as cramps after the IUI; I really didn't have any within the first few days or immediately after. I started having pulling type pains around 6dpo...a few days after the IUI's...I used Ovidrel trigger last cycle; and am switching to HCG trigger this round....so maybe that is the difference?! I am so excited to hear your updates!! BABY DUST!!!!

    Jenny,
How did your ultrasound go?! Last cycle, I had 3 follicle check ultrasounds before we were able to trigger...my follies took forever! Fingers crossed that you will be good to go! BABY DUST!!!! Hopefully I am not far behind you...guess we will know where we stand Monday!
  • I was also thinking that maybe since I had the 5 follices & ovulating all as opposed to just 1 like a regular cycle is what's causing the pain? I have no idea. Jenny did you do a hcg trigger on your last cycle? I'm thinking that we will all have BFP at the same time :)
  • Hey Ladies!! Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers for my family. I just got back this afternoon. Bitter sweet. Great to see family but crappy circumstances. I'm so excited to hear about all of your progress! I'm praying that each of you have great big follies and Get your BFPs!!

I had my consultation today with my new MD. I really like him! He seems to think I'm a great candidate for IVF. :) Yay! I had an US and he told me my lining looked great and my antral follicle count was 15 which is pretty good for my age. I have to get lots of labs done and have a Saline Infusion Sonogram. He will come up with my protocol and start me on birth control pills. They are closed for two weeks in May so it's looking like June. I was hoping for sooner of course, but I have to learn to be patient, especially spending all this money. I want to get it right the first time! :)

keep me posted on follie sizes, IUI, preggo symptoms, etc. lots and lots of baby dust!!

    Jennie
  • Courtney - The ultrasound was ok, but my follies aren't ready. :( I have to go back in on Tuesday for another ultrasound. By then they should be getting to the appropriate size (fingers crossed!). I think that my RE forgot that I have a longer cycle. I should have known that yesterday would be too soon for developed follicles, but I was hoping that the femara would speed the process along. No such luck. :/ She said if we have to do another cycle she wants to put my on higher doses of femara. The good news is that the red wine didn't interfere with it in anyway. My RE and I are starting to get chummy - I was hoping that I wouldn't be using her long enough for that to happen!! haha. At least she said that my lining looked really good.

I know it is only cycle 2, but I am starting to get weary of this process. I don't know how people can do this for 7/8 cycles. Obviously, I'm willing to do it if I have to, but it is really emotionally exhausting. I'm glad that I have you ladies to vent to during these moments.

Miah - I didn't do a trigger last time. My RE wanted to do an unmedicated cycle first, since I am relatively young, healthy etc. This time I am doing an HCG trigger. Hopefully next week!! :) Regarding your cramps, I had dull cramps my entire TWW last time. They weren't severe or really even painful, just noticeable. I was also extremely bloated. I think that it just depends on the individual regarding how the body reacts. Some people have no symptoms and others just feel a general malaise for a few days after. I hope you feel better soon, and really hope you get your BFP!

Jennie - Glad to hear that you are back safe and sound! Also glad that you like your new RE!! Why is the clinic closed for two weeks though? That seems odd. If I had to wait until June I would be so frustrated! You have a lot more patience than me! haha. :) Also, what is a saline infusion sonogram? Is that similar to an HSG?

    Anyway, baby dust ladies!!
  • Jenny- Tuesday will be your day! It is such a guessing game with these follies! I know last cycle we did not end up inseminating until CD19 & CD20...and I have a shorter cycle (27/28 days like clock work)...I ended up with so many follicle check ultrasounds last cycle...LOL. I am hoping this time around will be different! I know what you mean about getting chummy with your RE...I am in your boat! We have gotten quite close to everybody in that office...we even have inside jokes! Its great that the staff is so amazing...but I am ready for my BFP! :) I know it is easier said than done...but don't grow weary! Stay strong and think positive thoughts! It is a tough process is so many ways though and it does take an emotional toll; even in just the first cycle. This is something that we all want so bad, and we are emotionally invested in this...but we have to trust in our hearts that it will work. Soon you will be holding your little bundle of joy ( or maybe 2/3 ) :)...everything you had to go through will be so worth it.

Jennie-Sounds like you are on your way! Patience is a virtue, and it is so hard to stay patient with something like this! But we have to trust the process and believe it will lead us to our PERFECT outcome! How is your family coping with your loss? STAY strong! When will you hear back from your RE in reference to your protocol?!

Miah-How is the TWW?! How are you holding up? Still crampy?! Sorry for the 20 questions :) Just think...you are on your way to your BFP!

Ladies...here is to us all getting our BFP's this cycle! I love having you guys to keep me going...this is such a rollercoaster! BABY DUST!!!!
  • Jennie-glad you are back & things seem to be starting off well with your new RE.

Jenny- hopefully your next ultrasound will have plenty of follicles :) I started with medicated because I never have a period with my pcos. She said it's very mild and that is my only symptom. when I started the process in jan I did hsg &also the saline it's called sonohysterogram. Alot like the hsg just done with saline & ultrasound instead of the xray & dye.

Courtney- monday can't get here soon enough I can't wait to hear! Hopefully your weekend goes by fast. I don't mind the 20 questions glad I have you girls to talk to. It's going okay. I'm really bloated today. Not as crampy as yesterday. I'm really hoping that I get a BFP. My close friend delivered her 1st baby on the day of my iui. Another is due on April 6 which is the day that I go in for my pregnancy test. So I'm thinking all of this is great. :) hope you all have a great weekend. I'm off till Tuesday. So ill b checking back often. Lol. If any of you want to email rnkhardy@gmail.com

    Baby dust for us all.
  • Hey lovely ladies! Happy Saturday!

Miah - You are so strong! I can't believe you haven't tested yet. Good for you! I always said I would wait and then I would always break down and test. Just keep staying positive!! I can't wait to hear the results! By the way, I'm an RN too! :)

Courtney - My family is doing well. My grandfather died in his sleep while doing his favorite thing...sitting in his recliner looking at the ocean in the house that he built.:) No suffering...thank goodness. So like Miah said, the SIS is similar to HSG but less painful/uncomfortable. They infuse saline in your uterus and then do a US to check your lining a little more clearly. So how are you doing during this cycle? I'm sure you are excited for Monday! No s/e from the Clomid which is good! I always got really bad headaches and hot flashes. You asked about dosages and increasing them versus staying the same. My last RE did the same thing with me, kept me on Clomid 50mg. I'm not sure...I read and hear so many different things. I think I would have preferred if he would have changed it up, but who knows. I just keep thinking that it just wasn't the right time. This process is exhausting, but the most important thing to remember is to be patient and all of our BFPs will happen when they are supposed to! I totally get it though, it is so costly and emotional that it's super hard not to be anxious about it.

Jennny - A little more time in the oven for those follies...let them get nice and big so you can get your BFP! Super exciting! I wish I didn't have to wait until June, but like I said....I'm trying to learn to be patient...lol. It's definitely not easy, but I would rather only do IVF one time of course! So Austin?? That's great! What a great city! I've only been there once and it was years ago, but I will be there for Memorial weekend this year! Me and about 5 friends of mine rented a house there for a long weekend. The company I work for is based out of Dallas and I went to a class at the home office with my friend Megan and we met a couple people from Waco, one from Dallas and one from Wichitaw, KS. We all hit it off and have been talking almost daily, so we decided to get together again! Small world :)

I can't remember who talked about 7-8 IUIs, but you should research it and talk to your RE about it. I have heard & read that you really shouldn't do more than 3-4 because your chances start to decrease after that. That is one reason why I have moved on to IVF. Just a thought...

I also really enjoy all of the updates from you ladies. It is so nice to have others that I can talk to with similar situations. It's so nice to have that support.

Let's stay positive girlies!! BFPs coming our way soon!!! Baby dust!!

By the way, my address is dragonflinurse@gmail.com if any of you want to ever email in addition to or instead of this thread. I'm open to whatever :)
  • Hi ladies

I may have been the one that said I did 7 IUIs. My RE said it sometimes takes that many. I hope she did not lead me astray. I'm now moving onto IFV in June which is tough because 7 IUIs cost a lot already.
So many people talk about their follicle size. My doctor did none of that. I used an ovulation predictor kit and when it was positive I went the next day for IUI. My RE said she was confident in that process. I wonder if I should have pushed for more monitoring but she seemed confident in the procedure Part of me is a upset with her but I have to trust that this journey is going to go the way it was meant to go and I pray that IVF gives me the child I was meant to have.
  • Happy Sunday

Today makes day 4pIUI. I'm holding up okay. Day 1&2 I was cramping & so bloated. day 3 I had horrible heart burn & I kinda threw up twice in my mouth after eating pizza which is my favorite food. I know implantation usually happens day 6-10 so mayb it's from the trigger? Also since the cramping stopped iv just been really sore in my pelvic area as if I have been doing tons of crunches. idk I'm just ready to go to wrk Tuesday so the week goes by fast. Tomorrow I go for a hormone check.

Jennie- what dept do yoy work in? Iv done a little of everything med/tele, icu, step down, peds, ER, now outpatient surgery (preop). I knew with me trying to get pregnant I really wanted to wrk somewhere with very little stress. Iv only been in this dept since Jan. :)

ah_511- have you gotten a second opinion? I only ask because the # of follicles & size is important. Iv only just started but I thought it was pretty standard to check? Guessing Im wrong.

Courtney- tomorrow is the day :) keep us updated please :)

Jenny- 1 day closer. I'm hoping you and Courtney can both be starting your TWW this week together :)
  • Hello ladies! Hope everyone is having a GREAT WEEKEND! For me, I am glad the weekend is almost over...it brings me closer to my Monday appointment! :) And that being said, it brings us ALL closer to our BFP's!

Miah-let us know how your hormone check goes tomorrow! Fingers crossed all will check out great!

Jennie-have you started you BC pills yet? Any news from you RE regarding your protocol?

Jenny-It is almost Tuesday! I predict lots of BIG follicles! Fingers crossed we will be in our TWW wait together again!

ah_511-regarding the number of IUI's...my RE advised my partner and I that in her experience if it is going to work that it will usually happen within 3-4 cycles. She told us that after that, the odds decrease. She went on to tell us that after 3 cycles she will have a complete review of all of our cycles and require us to have a follow up appointment before we can go onto the 4th cycle. I am sure every RE is different, but I would think that your RE should have suggested increased monitoring after so many cycles...did you do every cycle as a natural one, no medication? Perhaps this is why she didn't advise of monitoring? Anywho...trust that you are on your way to a BFP...because you are!!!

Ladies, if you all want to email me, my email is wally030306@yahoo.com.

    BABY DUST!!!!!
  • Hello ladies!!!! So....TODAY WE TRIGGERED! We ended up with 5 follicles....but 3 are tiny, so we won't get anything from them...BUT we have a big ole follie measuring 26mm! We also have one at 14 that they believe we will probably get something from! So we inseminate tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning! Hope all is well ladies...can't wait to hear your updates! BABY DUST!!!!
  • Yay congrats! So exciting! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow courtney!

I missed the call about my labs today the voicemail said my labs look great & they will see me friday for my next set. I'm just doing the crinone before bed.
  • Hey girls!

Courtney!! So exciting! :) My fingers and toes are crossed & I'm praying for you guys! Lots and lots of sticky baby dust! 26mm is great! Nothing like big ol' follies! :) I haven't started BCP and I don't have a protocol yet. I have to wait for my cycle to start, so I can schedule my SIS and get labs drawn. Then, he will come up with my protocol and start BCP (I think). A whole bunch of hurry up and wait... I get to live vicariously through you ladies...for now.

Jenny - how did your US go today?? I'm dying to hear about your follies!

Miah - 5 or 6 more days, right? Exciting stuff! How are you feelilng? Still crampy?

I'm sooooo excited for you ladies! Fingers crossed and prayers all around!

    BABY DUST!
  • Hi jennie!

I'm on d6piui. Beta on monday. I keep going back & forth on if I should take a hot or noT on monday morning. today iv just had some pains. idk what to think because AF never comes. Hadn't seen her since August besides in Feb & March only after taking Provera to start it. Non stop burping still. I'm tired of thinking about it lol :) hope you had a great day. What dept do you work in by the way?
  • What does BETA mean. I see it on these threads a lot. Is it to see if you are pregnant? Each month I always just waited to see if I started my period. Never had to go back for a test (I would have if My period would not have come though)
    Just curious. Thanks
  • Yes its just the hcg level I'm honestly not even sure what beta stands for :)
  • Hello Ladies! Hope everybody is doing well! Well...my wife and I are officially in the TWW again! We have progesterone test on 4/7 and BETA on 4/13! I am hoping to resist the urge to poas again this time around...but we shall see! I am so glad we switched donors...this time around our first vial had 8.8 million and our second had 5.5 million...much improved from our first cycle! Fingers and toes crossed we are on our way to a BFP!

Miah-How are you feeling?! Any new symptoms?! You are sooooo close! I am praying that you get your BFP this round!

    Jenny-dying to hear your updates!!!!

Jennie-it will all be here for you before you know it!!!! We are all going to get our BFPs!!!! Please stay in touch!

    BABY DUST TO ALL!!
