Mrg I never told you but it is fantastic your baby girl is here and wonderful in every way!!!
I'm actually worried about an ectopic for us too with our numbers being so low. I guess we'll find out today if the pregnancy is even viable. I sure hope our numbers have doubled or tripled. No real symptoms lately except some food aversions. I'm pretty anxious the news will be bad today.
Rebecca you doing another beta? I'm guessing we'll be back for another on Monday but who knows we'll have to see what our numbers are today. Just hoping our little one just needed a little encouragement.
We had our second HCG and we more then doubled. Both with HCG and progesterone. They said based on everything we will come in for ultrasounds the next three Fridays before getting cleared to our OB. Can't wait to see things next Friday. Hoping all stays on target.
Congratulations Cari and Abby! That's wonderful news!
I was going to ask if you are getting another beta too Rebecca, my clinic did 3 blood draws, each a few days apart. Upon thinking about it I think that it was really quite unfair for the nurse to suggest an ectopic to you, obviously she was just going to give you a week of non stop worry! Even if she thought it she should have kept drawing blood then given you the ultrasound which would have confirmed location without you worrying yourself to death.
We had our final RE ultrasound yesterday, my wife managed to come to this one! It was amazing how much they had grown, the weekly growth seems to be phenomenal right now. All three are doing well, with one big chunky guy and two a couple of mm smaller, I can't believe they are growing so much with the terrible sickness I've been having, I hope you ladies manage to avoid all the nausea as it's been really rough the past few weeks!
Mrg, congratulations on baby girl, I am sure you are totally besotted by her and she is absolutely beautiful!
Firsttime, I hope AF shows up soon so you can get started on the next round (or maybe just a late +?) How many days post iui were you when you tested?
AF showed up this morning. I was 16/17dpiui when I tested. I've never been that far and not started. We're going to look at new donors (as ours is now sold out) and we have an appt with Houston Fertility Specialists on 11/5. Seeing if they suggest different meds for IUI or switch to IVF.
So sorry, Firsttime. How many failed attempts have you had now? Having had so many myself I totally get trying to be more proactive. Honestly, I now believe 100% that it's all timing and you probably know yourself how long your LH surge is and when you ovulate. We spent all this time doing 2 back to beck IUIs, some with clomid, some without and nothing until I insisted to my clinic that I definitely have a short LH surge and likely ovulate that day. We changed up the timing to one IUI just after the +opk and one ICI at home that evening (we used the Stork insemination kit which was cool). This was try number 9 for us and the only difference was the timing. Now I kinda wish we had done the timing and not the clomid!! Anyway, I think in all of this it's just trying to get to know your own body, especially if you don't fit exactly into the 24/36 hour thing that the RE expects. (Btw, this was a new donor for us too, so maybe that did help too) Good luck and tons of baby dust to you!
Hi all! Cari, I am so excited for you and Abby! I am glad that her numbers are quickly rising! I am sure you are both eager for the upcoming ultrasounds!
My ultrasound on Wednesday can't get here fast enough. We are pretty worried, and I agree...the nurse did us no favors in that area. But I am glad she was at least straightforward, now we know going in that it might not be good news. I will have another Beta on Wednesday as well. Hopefully the u/s and blood work both go exceedingly well. Wish me luck!
Wishing everyone baby dust and a Happy Halloween! Rebecca
@prbs2002 This was our 4th IUI (2 back to back). I honestly thought the timing was perfect this time.... I had a surge and got in to see my dr the same day, and then one the next day. We have had all 4 with the same donor so maybe switching it up will help.
We are going to see what the specialist say on Saturday. Hoping all is well with me. IF for some reason there is an issue, my wife said she will gladly use her eggs (if I carry...she has NO desire to be pregnant). If that won't work, we are perfectly fine with adopting. But I really want to carry.
Firsttime, our doctor actually said the chances of getting pregnant with frozen sperm through Iui is only 10-15%. I'm not sure how anyone ever gets pregnant. He also said that switching up donors is a good idea. We did six Iuis before switching to ivf. Nothing came up wrong with Abby. Just sperm not meeting egg. I was so impatient by the end thinking we were just wasting money. That is why we switched to ivf. But a lot of people have luck with Iuis. Look at all the people on this board. Good luck seeing the specialist.
Julie I am thinking about you today. I hope your ultrasound goes well and everything is okay just your baby needed a little assistance.
I'm nervous about ours on Friday. I am just hoping for healthy and normal with everything looking good. They said not to expect to hear a heartbeat just yet. We have an appointment with the doc next wed if something is wrong.
Thinking of you today Rebecca, keeping everything crossed for baby to be snuggled in there and looking good. We have our appointment with the high risk Dr tomorrow, I am so nervous. Sickness is a bit better over the past few days, I don't know whether to be happy or worried! Cari, I am sure everything will be great on Friday, it will be such a relief to see, I know I was a wreck thinking of all the bad things that could be until I had that first U/S, then I just became a wreck thinking about our ever increasing multiples!!
Julie good luck tomorrow. I know it will be a relief to see the ultrasound. We get them the next three weeks and then get released to our OB. I'm hoping all is well with Rebecca's ultrasound. So many positive thoughts!
We got good news today. Both the u/s and blood work went well. At the u/s we saw the gestational sac with yolk sac inside, which was perfect and was all we should see at 5 weeks. Then my blood results showed an HCG doubling time of 46 hours...so better than the 48 they hope for and a big improvement over my first two blood draws. I go back next Thursday morning for another u/s. Feeling a lot more hopefully, but certainly not out of the woods.
On the other hand, the u/s also showed still very enlarged ovaries and fluid in the cavity which explains some of my bloating and discomfort. The doc said this is from my overstimulation. And will get better with time, but tends to drag on longer when a pregnancy is present in the uterus. For now, I couldn't be happier to have free floating fluid and swollen, sensitive ovaries...as long as there is a little bean growing in exactly the right spot.
Cari - I will be thinking of you and Abby on Friday. This morning was nerve wracking. I was crying waiting for the doctor to come in for the ultrasound. I totally understand the nerves! I hope all the best for you!
Julie - Good luck tomorrow! I can't wait to hear how it goes. Sorry you are feeling nervous. As I recall, symptoms come and go. I am sure all is well. Keep us updated!
This post made my day Rebecca! Now to get through ours and get this pregnancy really going. I hope our news is just as good on Friday. Did they give you a due date Rebecca? Based upon online trackers we are due July 4th!
Glad to make your day...and hopefully make you worry a little less Cari! They didn't give me a due date yet. With IVF it's a little more difficult to pinpoint. Are you going from Abby's last period, the egg retrieval, or the embryo transfer? Our dates should be similar, and my wife and I have estimated it as the beginning of July. Fingers crossed for healthy, summer babies!
So happy to hear this Rebecca! Such a relief. If I wasn't so tired I'd be doing a little dance in celebration! Let the good news keep coming, we've all waited long enough for it!
Hey Cari - Good luck today! Can't wait to hear your good news! Try to relax and breath! Also, using the same logic as you, my EDD is July 2nd. How crazy we could FINALLY have babies and them be so close in age!
Makes sense since you have been about two days ahead of us all along!!
We have all been following each other for so long we should make a FB account or share emails or something to stay in touch. I couldn't have gotten through this journey without you ladies. And to think we are all pregnant! Gotta get Livvy on board now too.
Julie how the doctors appointment go?
My ultrasound is at 2:30 central time. So hoping for nothing but positive news!
Our ultrasound went well! Gestational sack and yolk sack are perfect. We won't get our progesterone level back until Monday. We were last appointment of the day and our nurses don't work on the weekends to communicate to us. Feeling good on things right now.
I am so glad to hear that everything is going well Cari & Rebecca! Sorry to be MIA, my mother is over visiting. I second the FB account, I would love to see how things progress for you ladies and our babies will be so close in age. Maybe we can wait until everyone feels safe enough to be not jinxing anything then set up something!?
Our appointment was great - we LOVE our doctor, she just was so reassuring and seems to have dealt with every possible situation with multiples. We ended up getting blood drawn, and three ultrasounds on that day, yes, three! Everyone wanted to see, it was pretty funny. All babies looking good, it's amazing how much they actually look like babies now. They want to do a CVS on them to check all is well but we can't get to baby B due to positioning so likely A and C will be tested for genetics (we will hopefully learn some genders with that), we go for that test on 11/18. We are feeling pretty positive about the whole thing and it is reassuring that we will be so closely monitored by these lovely people.
What's next for you Rebecca? Do you wait for your next ultrasound or are there any more appointments? Keeping everything crossed for a great progesterone result Cari!
Have any of you ladies had an HSG test? We are going to have one done next cycle and I'm pretty nervous. Everything I've read, people are saying it's painful and not a fun experience.
Hopefully that will give us some answers as to why this isn't working for us. Dr is also going to switch us from Clomid to Femara and we're switching our donor too! Hopefully all of these changes will give us the BFP we've been waiting for!
Firsttime, I had an HSG in May - it was weird but totally painless for me, a bit like getting an IUI. They got me to lay down as they squirted the dye in, then made me roll over onto my belly and back again to get it to spread all around. I had a polyp which was removed about a week later. Good luck!
Julie, I am glad you are in good hands with your triplets. I saw the triplets word to put on the ultrasound at ours and thought of you. We are looking forward to going back on Friday and finally hearing a heartbeat. I do photography on the side and shot an adorable 1 year old today and just kept thinking I can't wait to be able to shoot my kid. Good luck with the testing. How far along are you now?
Rebecca when do you go back?
Firsttime, we did not have an HSG. Good luck. Hoping you join us with your BFP.
Have any of you broken down and bought anything for the babies. We may have bought a onzie at a cute boutique this weekend while we were out of town. We know its incredibly early and tucked it away the minute we got home.
Cari, I am just over 10 weeks now (11 weeks on Thursday), I can't believe where the time is going! Our next appointment is on 11/18 where we will get the CVS testing on babies A and C. They will give us an ultrasound then too (plus for the procedure) So far C is the biggest with A measuring a bit behind although the Dr wasn't concerned.
We have not bought anything yet but I know for sure if I end up in a boutique I will NEVER be able to control myself. I have been searching registry ideas and strollers, it's addictive! I did buy a baby name book on Amazon the other day but we've not looked at it yet, I think when we get to 12 weeks we will feel more confident.
Hi all! Sorry I have been a little MIA - things have been really busy around here. Anyway...
Cari - I am so excited for you and Abby! I can tell your excitement is growing! As it should be. We haven't bought anything yet, but after last time we are feeling a little more reserved and cautious! I am possibly most excited to buy our daughter a Big Sister shirt! But still holding off on that. She is going to be the best! Your next appt is Friday, right?
Julie - I am glad all went well at the new doctor last week. They are the experts, let them guide and take care of you! Crazy that you are almost in your second trimester! So excited for you! Have you told friends and family that you are expecting...multiples?
As for me, our next appt is Thursday. Just 2 days away but feels like an eternity! I am eager for it to come, until that morning and then I will be so nervous. I am hoping for more progress and development. But after a miscarriage, every appt is terrifying. I can't wait to be able to enjoy being pregnant! Right now, I am still so skeptical that I feel like I can't get attached. It's pretty sad, really. If we make it through the next month or so, I am sure I will start celebrating!
Baby dust to all, Rebecca
ps - Livvy, I am thinking of you! Hope all is well!!!
Busy is good. Keeps you a bit distracted. We had a great weekend with family it was so darn hard not to blurt out our news. We are excited. I really worry about a miscarriage and each day that we have a healthy baby growing is a day to celebrate. I know we aren't out of the woods yet but this is as close as it gets to being pregnant for us. So I am trying to trust the process and that we will make it through the first trimester just fine. At least those are my hopes and prayers and in July we will welcome a little one.
I will be thinking about you at your ultrasound Rebecca. I am hoping only for good news. Ours is indeed on Friday. I am hoping we will hear the heartbeat or see more then just the gestational and yolk sacs.
It's going to be a shock to some with your big announcement Julie! Triplets is amazing. Have you thought about how you would tell people?
Yes Livvy hoping you are doing well after your transfer and you join us soon with great news as well!
We have only told a tiny number of people so far, people who kinda had to know something was going on since I was so sick but I have been thinking maybe we can time our proper announcement with the holidays, by which time we hopefully are out of the woods and know the genders which is exciting me so much!
Good luck with the next ultrasounds Rebecca and Cari, that is so great - I bet you can see so much more this time! I was stunned by the difference in the quality of ultrasound image when we graduated from the vaginal ultrasounds to the on top ones, we could see SO much more there, even the hearts in the little bodies and the umbilical cords and that was at just 10 weeks. I love that I am going to get so many peeks at the babies because of the number and honestly when you see them as clearly as that it is impossible not to get attached. I'm so freaking excited to see them again and am just keeping everything crossed they are doing ok as I'm not showing yet at all and the nausea has calmed down a bit. If you need to take anything for it yourselves I have found that the One a Day prenatal ginger pills have helped through the day and Unisom has helped at night (both recommended by my Dr)
Livvy, can't wait to hear from you, I hope the transfer was a success!
Hey everyone- thanks for reaching out. I have been vicariously living through your exciting BFPs and am still in shock over Julie's triplets!
My wife & I talked a couple weeks ago and decided to stop this cycle. The BFN we had in our first IVF was very painful and I think we need time to build our marriage outside of TTC. We still have a couple of frozen embryos, but are going to take a breather for a few months.
Thank you everyone for being there and good luck! Maybe when we're ready again I'll come back and see who's still around:)
Livvy - I completely understand how difficult TTC can be on your relationship. I am glad that you and your wife decided together to take time to breathe. When the time is right, you will know. We took the summer off from TTC this year, and I think it was the best thing for my mental health, my daughter's overall well being and our marriage. I wish you all the best, and will constantly be checking back yo see your updates!
As for me, we had an amazing appt today. We saw the baby (which was enough for me), then my wife said, "what's that moving?" And the doctor replied, the heartbeat! Which we then got to hear. It was music to our ears, and love at first sight!
The RE is so,pleased with everything she has seen, that we "graduated" to the regular OB. Our first appt will be in about 2 weeks! Seems insane! I kind of wish I had one more peek at the baby next week with the RE, but it is very reassuring that they are feeling so confident.
I finally feel like I can say, I'm pregnant (although we aren't telling anyone for a while)! After all this time, it is kind of nice to have a joyful little secret to keep to ourselves.
Livvy, I understand needing the break. If this round of IVF didn't work we were going to definitely take some time off. I will definitely be sneaking peaks to hear when you start again. This process is stressful and draining and even the healthiest marriages struggle during ttc and infertility.
Rebecca, I am beyond excited for you! It is so amazing that you saw the heartbeat. Did they finally give you a due date? And congrats on graduating. :) I am so happy for you. I can't wait until we can all scream we are pregnant.
Our ultrasound is tomorrow. I am so excited. 10 am cannot get here soon enough the hear the little boogers heartbeat. We have one more ultrasound on the 18th and an appointment with the RE on the day before thanksgiving to graduate. We have a midwife practice picked out so we are hoping there are no incidents until we graduate.
In other news, in light of Trump getting into office Abby and I are finally taking the plunge and getting legally married on January 6th. We are currently civil unioned and had an amazing covenant ceremony at our church. We decided now that we are pregnant and there are so many uncertainties around our nation we better take the plunge. We consider our civil union as legal enough but why not take the plunge. It will be something simple at the courthouse and lunch afterwards. But we are excited to do it finally.
