  • Thanks for all the positive thoughts and words, everyone. I've had some time to cry and now I'm moving forward toward IUI #2. Taking Letrozole right now to get those follicles going. Here's hoping this second IUI will take.

mom2b, Sending you lots of positive energy. Would love to see a post from you in few days that says you have a BFP!

Sweettheartt, Glad your IUI went well and that those sperm were eager to do their thing and that you had quite a few good eggs. My thoughts are with you during your TWW. Stay busy and stay positive. xo

highlyfavored, Hang in there on the TWW. It sure did drag for me, but I got a heck of a lot of gardening done! I'm sending you lots of baby dust.

    Jennie, What's the latest?

Katrin, When do you get to test?

    Hugs to all of you,
    Amy
  • Thx Amy,
Truthfully it's not so bad. I've been on msg boards for the past 2 days so that passes the time until I get sleepy, take a nap and then get up and do it again. Back to work tomorrow so that should help pass some more time and hopefully before you know it it will at least be 12dpiui.

Got worried b/c I cramped all day today. It's gone for now. But got online to see if this was normal and it appears that it is but no one ever really said that if they had cramping whether or not it ended in a BFP.

Best of luck to you all. God Bless!!! Baby dust!!!
  • Amy,
My 2 weeks will be over on Thursday. Planning on doing a home pregnancy test Thursday morning. have blood work in pm but will not know results until Friday. Did have the pre menstrual feeling today, so needles today , my hopes are very low for IUI # 3...

Lots of luck to all the other ladies out there !!
  • highlyfavored, I still haven't figured out what cramping means during the IUI process. There's cramping at start, possible cramping during implantation... I'm sending you lots of baby dust and positive energy. Rest up!

Katrin, Please let us know about your HPT results. Keep your spirits up. We're all pulling for you.

I was fine during the actual process and 2 days after but then on the 4th day I had cramps like I was ovulating or AF was on her way. Those are the kinds of cramps I'll talking about. They are a little gassy. Feels like you have to let go of a big one to feel better (sorry but that's how it feels) but it doesn't happen so you walk around with a bloated gassy feeling all day.

Maybe someone else can describe it better and with a little more finesse...lol
  • Cramping has been what I am experiencing with the IUIs. Doctor says that is typical. Doesn't have anything to do if you are pregnant or not.
  • The thing that no one else seems to be talking about is all the spotting/blood.
  • Sweettheartt,
What spotting/blood are you talking about? I haven't had that problem.

If it is true that sperm live inside the body up to 72hrs after IUI then hopefully everything matches up on time and if it was ovulation cramping then I didn't miss my window of opportunity.

But I think I O'd on Saturday but don't know for sure. They say the cramping could be ovulation. idk just gonna have to wait it out and not stress.

  • Wan-Wan, I asked that question of the cryoboard and although they are alive washed sperm loses their effectiveness after 12-24 hrs.

Maybe it was the speculum that scraped me, but I've had quite a bit of spotting.
  • HPT this morning after 2 ww: negative....:-( I knew the chance was small but I can't deny: I am disappointed and sad.
Heading to MD office this pm for blood work and hoping cryobank will refund me for the poor quality vial I received so I can try 1 more time prior to proceeding to IVF.

Good luck to all of you waiting out there!
  • Sorry to hear that Katrin. Hugs.
    Amy
  • Thx Sweettheartt, hope everything is ok

    Katrinl, sorry to hear that.
  • I am curious to know how old is everyone is and why now? I am 38 and single/straight. I decided to start trying for a baby because I decided to find out how fertile I am and my egg scores weren't the greatest, not the worst but the doctor strongly encouraged me not to wait. A friend of mine who is in a same sex marriage just went through the donor process and ended up with an adorable baby so it wasn't so scary for me after that. But of course, her donor was retired.

On another note ever since the triggle shot my stomach has felt like one continuous cramp. Anybody have that?
  • Sorry that was supposed to read trigger shot not triggle shot.
  • I am 37 single/straight. Have had 2 m/c (spontaneous abortion, ectopic)12 years ago. Always wanted to know what it would feel like to carry a baby under my heart. Used to beat myself up about not being able to carry a baby. Didn't think about it for a while, was in a 3yr relationship but he had a vasectomy said he was willing to have it reversed (doc said depends on how long it had been that it might not be successful). Broke up with him and started back thinking about having a baby before I get too old.

My mother had my little sister when she was 40 so I knew I wasn't too old but the clock is ticking. Like my np said she doesn't want me to turn 50yo and wonder why/if I never had a baby. And I agree.

Don't really have fertility problems just have 1 tube and have to be ovulating from that tube to be successful.

We'll see. Not really sure how many times I will attempt this.

    6 down 8 to go!!!
  • Negative Blood HCG for me today :( IUI #2 deemed unsuccessful. Now I'm broke and have to wait a few months before I can try again...trying to keep it positive here.
  • Mom2b: big hug to you, I feel your pain as I have been crying my eyes out tonight too!
Have to admit in situations ilk this I wish i had a shoulder to lean on from somebody who loved me for who I am, a guy that supports me and could give me a big hug.

For the ones still in their wait: good luck and wishing you lots of baby dust!
  • Hey ladies...sorry I've been MIA. I went on a vacation to DC, then came back to work being crazy, then got a stomach bug that has kept me out of commission for a few days. Know that I have been thinking and praying for each and every one of you ladies every day.

Mom2b - I'm so sorry. BIG hugs to you. Try and keep your head up...I know easier said than done. We will all get our BFPs...just have to keep the faith!

How are all you other ladies doing? Where is everyone in their cycle/2WW?

Question....my usual cycle is 19-21 days and I'm cd29 and still no AF!! I'm kind if wondering if Clomid is the culprit. Last year when I took Clomid and had IUI, I was 9 days late. Anyone else had this experience it heard of prolonging cycles?

Hugs, prayers and sticky baby dust to us all!!!

    Jennie ??
  • No baby this time around for me.
  • So sorry to hear that, Sweetheart. Keep your chin up.... Hugs to you!!!

I go for my follie check tomorrow at 8am. Excited and a bit nervous since I had a 22mm cyst on my right ovary at my U/S before starting Clomid. Hoping everything looks good so I can trigger and have my IUI on Monday. Fingers crossed!!

Prayers and baby dust are welcomed!!
  • Hi all,

Sorry I've been absent for a while. My parents, sister and two nieces were visiting and life got pretty crazy. Was good since it took my mind off my 2WW for a bit. Can't test until Friday.

Mom2b, So sorry your last was a BFN. Hugs and love coming your way.

Katrin, I hear you on wishing at times that you had someone to share the ups and downs of this process with. It's hard to do it alone, even with the support of friends and the wonderful women here.

Sweettheartt, So sorry this IUI didn't take. Am pulling for you as you move forward in this process.

Jennie, How'd the follicle check go? To your question about cycles, I've only had the one IUI run the full course so far, and I took Letrozole, but it didn't make my cycle longer. In fact, my cycle tends to be longer -- 31-35 days, and it took me down to 28.

Love and baby dust to everyone.

  • Hey Amy!! I'm so happy you got to spend some time with family!! What a fabulous way to get through your 2WW!! My follies were a bit small on Saturday, but today they looked good! :) I trigger tonight and my IUI will be Wednesday morning. I can't wait to hear about your results! How are you feeling? Any symptoms? Are you on Progesterone?

    Jennie :)
  • Jennie,

Great news about your follicles. Will be thinking of you tomorrow night when you have your IUI. Baby dust, baby dust.

I'm feeling ok, but a bit crampy. Hoping it's just gas! I haven't been on progesterone. So hard to wait.

  • Jennie, (thread jacking =) )
your IUI seems awfully far away from trigger. Usually trigger and IUI should be between 12-36 hrs apart. Just making sure you have the best chance. I would call just to make sure. GL, FX'd.
Amy- hope all is well this tww. My FX'd for you. GL and baby dust . I hope Friday brings you a BFP
  • Amy and a_walton -

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers!! I'm super excited!! I slept terrible last night though and Im sure I will again tonight....my mind is going a gazillion miles a minute.

About my trigger and IUI...I triggered at 9pm last night and IUI is tomorrow mornng at 9am...Exactly 36 hours apart which from everything I read is pretty standard. I've also read its better to have sperm there before you ovulate, right?

Amy I have my fingers crossed for Friday and a BFP for you!!! Did you take progesterone last time? I'm wondering if they will put me on it.

Prayers and lots of super sticky baby dust to us all!!

Time to make a baby!! :)))))

    Jennie :)
  • Jennie, thinking about you today for your IUI. Wishing you loads of baby dust.
  • Thanks a_walton!!!!

Everything went great and I truly think the timing was perfect! It's in God's hands now!! It is going to be a long 2WW, especially since I did trigger shot. Now I won't be able to poas because it will show up postivie from the HCG. Oh well... will teach me to be patient, right? How are you doing?
  • Jennie, How are you doing? Are you surviving the 2WW? It's agony, isn't it?

I'm sending you lots of sticky baby dust.

AFM, My second IUI was a success, and I'm now preggers! So grateful. Hoping for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Everyone else, please let us know how you are doing.

    Amy, 42
    IUI#1 BFN, IUI#2 BFP!
    Due March 2014
  • congrats Babyin2014 !
  • Amy!!!! That is soooo exciting!!!! Congrats!!!! I have been praying for you every day! :) So happy for you! I will continue to pray that you have a healthy sticky bean!

I'm doing pretty good....it is agony! I think the symptoms I have been having so far are most likely due to the trigger shot, but yesterday I had some cramping on the right. Today the tiniest bit of spotting...Im praying it was from implantation?

What dpiui did you start having symptoms and what were they? Did you wait the full 2 weeks before testing?

Prayers and sticky baby dust! XO

    Jennie :)
