  • Hey,
I am 42, single and trying for my 3th iui. Started clomid on 5/28, going in for US next tuesday. Will be more than happy to buddy up :-)
  • Hey katrinl!! Glad to find a buddy! I am also going in for US on Tuesday!! I'm super exacted to see how big my follies are. I'm leaving to go to DC on Friday night so if my follicles aren't big enough by Wednesday! I will have to wait until next month. My RE will have me trigger if everything looks good and have IUI 2 days later.

Diid you also take Clomid on cd3-7? Have you used the same meds and donor for every IUI? It's so nice to have this website t find others going through the same stuff. What a great support!! :)

I'm Jennie by the way.... :))
  • Keeps us up to date. All of you.
  • I started this journey in April. Went off of bc af started that same week. went in for u/s on cd 13 3 follicles on the right side ( don't have left tube)but they were not mature. was put on 50mg of clomid cd 3-7 in May. Had 2 follicles that were too large (27 - 32cm). This cycle we will do 25g of clomid cd 3-7 and hopefully I won't over stimulate this time. Very nervous got a feeling that the follicles will be on the left side this time and then I'll have to wait another cycle until they get where they need to be and are the size that they need to be. Did I mention that I am 37 soon to be 38.
  • Hi all.

I'm 42 and having my first IUI tomorrow after a round of Letrozole Days 3-7.

    Come on Donor 13294!

Baby wishes for all of you.

    Amy
  • Thanks Anissa...you too!

Highlyfavored....don't get discouraged. Just keep thinking positive!

Amy - we will be (hopefully) within 3-4 days of each other. I go in for US to check my follies in the morning. I'm praying that they are big enough to trigger either tomorrow or Wednesday or I will have to wait until next month. I'm using 13403!! Lots and lots of baby dust to us all!!!!

    -Jennie :)
  • Anissa, : Thank you!

Amy: Glad to see I am not the only 42 year old out here.Lot's of baby dust to you!! Any idea on your FSH levels. Mine were high when checked so I am struggling with what to do if this one does not work. IVF with my own or with donor eggs..

Jennie : Good luck to you too! This journey can be a roller coaster ! Was on clomid for #1 and #2 . 25 mg only. MD increased to 50 mg this time. Curious to see what US will show tomorrow. Re. donor, have used the same one for every try. His numbers were good each time. Afraid my "old" egss were the culprit in the previous attempts. I am using 12922.

Highlyfavored: Hoping the best for you and try to keep thinking positive. !

Lots of courage and strength to all of you ladies!

  • Hello!

I am also 36, and TTC baby #1. I am planning for my second IUI on 6/7/13, and started Clomid 50mg for 5 days on 5/31/13. I am using donor 13382. Thinking positive and so glad to have others to relate to here!

Lots of prayers, luck and baby dust!!
  • Welcome mom2b!!

It sounds like we might be on the same cycle. I will know a little more after my US tomorrow morning. Baby dust and best wishes and prayers to us all!!!
  • Jennie, Let us all know how your US goes. Hoping there's lots looking good in there.

Katrini, I'm not really sure what my FSH levels were, just that they were in a range where my doc said we can use my eggs but not to wait. Eager to hear about your US tomorrow, too. 42 is not too old to have a baby. I just know it!

Highlyfavored, Sounds like your follicles have it in them to be where they need to be once your doc gets your medication levels right. That's good news. Sending you hugs as you continue on your journey.

Mom2B, Will be thinking of you on the 7th and picturing sperm and egg having a happy meeting.

As for me, My IUI went well. Was an emotional experience for me. First they asked me to sign a form that had lines for "husband" and "wife." :(
Then it was all so clinical. Not the way I envisioned having a baby. But I sure have a lot of love for the baby that's out there for me. Very hopeful about this IUI bringing him/her home.

Will be checking back here on all of you. Hugs.

  • Thx everyone...I'm optimistic af came early was supposed to be here Sat but she showed up today. So I will start Clomid on Wed/Thurs not sure if I should count today as day1 since I haven't been on all day (will chk with doc tomorrow). And hopefully everything is happening on the right side. Truthfully I still have to narrow down a donor. Guess I better get with it just in case this is the month for IUI...lol. Best wishes and baby dust to all of us!!!
  • Happy to report MD visit went well. IUI on Thursday 6/6/13 scheduled. 3 good size follicles on R . The positive news I needed to hear. Hope my body cooperates this time and that there is a match between 1 good egg and a strong swimmer.
Baby dust and lots of luck to all !!!

    Katrin
  • Good luck Katrin!
  • Good luck everyone. FX'd that June will bloom for us all. Baby Dust and Blessings.
  • Hey everyone... Crappy news for me...I'm a no go for this cycle. I have two follies on the right. 13mm and 14mm. They aren't big enough for IUI before I go on vacation Friday night. I'm bummed...if I was leaving a day later, the timing would probably work but I haven't seen my Dad since December and I would cut 1 day out of 2 whole days of seeing him. I guess it wasn't meant to be this cycle. I still feel really very positive and know this is my year to get pregnant!! My sonographer said at least we know you have short cycles now, having 13 & 14mm follies on day 9. Good luck to all of you wonderful ladies during this month's cycle and I hope we can stay on contact even though we are all on different cycles! Baby dust!!!!

    Jennie.
  • Thanks for the support and best wishes everyone! Good luck tomorrow Katrin!

Amy, I can totally relate to that emotional experience you had with your IUI. Hugs to you!

Jennie, so sorry to hear of your news today. Yes, crappy is a very appropriate word to describe it. Keep up the positive thoughts and your baby will find you next month.

    Keep the posts coming everyone!
  • Katrin..soooo excited for you!! I will be praying for you and sending all kinds of positive sticky baby dust your way!! Keep us posted!!

Highly favored...how are you feeling? Did you start your Clomid yet? Did you also decide on a donor? :)

Amy.... How are you feeling? Still feeling emotional? Big hugs to you!! I've been preying for all you lovely ladies!!! :)))

Mom2b....how did you do on the Clomid? Did you have your follies checked yet? Fingers crossed for you on Friday!! :)))

    Jennie
  • Dragonflinurse thx for asking. I started 25mg of clomid today (cd 3-7). My doc is on vacation til Monday so I will call her then to schedule U/S. Then we will go from there. No I haven't decided on a donor yet. I feeling good just waiting to see which side these follicles that I know I have will be on. Baby Dust to all!!!
  • As a matter of fact in regards to selecting a donor two of them that I was looking at (at another bank) only have IVF left. But I did put the 4 of them that I had narrowed it down to at this bank in order of favorites. So we'll just have to wait and see.
  • Hey guys... For you around 42 it does happen. I got pregnant at 42 years 8 months and had a healthy baby at 43 and change. I am now thinking of a second. Not sure it will happen as I was wicked sick with the first but still.
  • Disappointing day today, went in for my IUI . MD reports that vial from donor I had previously used has very few active sperm cells. Apparently did not do well with freezing /thawing process. Count was so low (3 million) Md did not wash sperm, afraid more might not survive. Am so bumped out, now things were looking good from my end and now this. Feel like this attempt has failed, was supposed to be my last before proceeding to IVF and now feel like I did not even get a decent chance!
Mad at myself for not ordering more than 1 vial( he had only one left in stock) , asking the question why? Should I give up on this 2ww already?
  • No Katrinl do not be hard on yourself. How would you know. Did he do an IUI? Or what? Maybe he will do another IUI. Have you chosen another donor? I am here gto listen.
  • He did do an iui. Now am thinking I will request a 4 th IUI, this is if I get refund for vial. My insurance does not cover anything so financially a challenge too. ..Have been crying most of day, guess sadness needs to come out. Tomorrow another day...
  • I would love to join the post. I am 38 yrs old and started Clomid yesterday. I chose 13426. How did you all choose your donors? Did you have specific criteria? I am excited to try.
  • Jennie, I did good on 50mg of Clomid days 5-9. Had U/S today which showed 3 good follicles. I had my trigger shot today and am all set for IUI tomorrow (6/7). Fingers and toes crossed!!! Thanks all for the baby dust and good wishes!
  • Jennie, Sorry it's a no-go for this cycle, but here's hoping your baby is ready for you next month.

Katrin, Here's hoping for a BFP soon!

Highly favored, Hope you get the donor your after. I bought one vial of my preferred donor, and then freaked out the next day when I saw he was almost sold out. Went and bought five more "just in case." Lol. Never thought I'd go on a sperm buying spree!

Mom2b, Sending lots of positive energy and baby dust your way for your IUI tomorrow. Please let us know how it goes.

As for me, I'm feeling good and really positive. Of course, I'm analyzing every little twinge and every little feeling like a woman obsessed. Cuz I am! lol I'm hungrier than usual and constipated... Does that mean I'm pregnant? ;) Just have to keep busy so I don't go crazy.

    Hugs to all of you!
    Amy
  • Katrin, So sorry. I missed your later posts until now. Remember, it only takes on sperm, so don't lose hope. Just try to stay positive and imagine that sperm fertilizing your beautiful egg. xoxo

Sweettheart, Please join us. It's so nice to be able to communicate with women going through the same thing. When I picked a donor, I started with features like mine -- blue eyes, fair skin, etc. I wanted an open donor. By the time I had my criteria in, there were only 6 who matched. So from there it was just going through their profiles, looking at baby pix, etc.

mom2b, I'm so excited that you had three good follicles! Triple the chances.

    Amy
  • I have taken three days of Clomid and the usual hot flashes and anxiety have kicked in, as well as the pressure feeling in the lower abdomen. I think my IUI should be in a little less than a week. Nervous but excited.

I chose my donor because he has similar coloring to the men in my family and he is intelligent and athletic and driven in his career. The fact that he is creative and can sing is a bonus. I also wanted tall. He is a writer and I won awards for play-writing in college sealed the deal.

What donor numbers is everyone going with?
  • Hello all,

The 2 week wait has begun for me. Successful IUI #2 done yesterday, and I'm trying to keep everything positive again this time around, but having a hard time of it, to be honest. I think because I was so disappointed last time around when things didn't work, that I've put up a protective barrier. I hope that doesn't work against me. I so want to be pregnant and will be so excited if this is the month for me.

The donor I chose was 13382, and, like Amy, I went first for somebody who had features similar to my own. I also took a good look at family medical history and tried to pick what sounded like it would be compatable to my own.

Katrin - don't lose hope. It only takes one sperm remember. We're in this 2 week wait together

Sweetheart - Welcome! So glad to have another join us!
  • Mom2b - Don't lose hope. It's only the second try and for many women it takes a few attempts. I think positivity really does make a difference, so try to visualize that embryo growing in your fallopian tubes and making its way down to implant in your uterus.

Sweetheart - Let us know how your IUI goes.

Katrin - How are you feeling?

As for me, I'm one week through my TWW. I have to say the trigger shot gave me way more symptoms than I was anticipating. I really felt pregnant, but now those symptoms are starting to go away and it's too soon to be getting them naturally. So it's weird to feel pregnant and then not.

One thing this wait has done for me is give me an amazing garden. I've been a gardening fiend to stay busy!

    Hugs to all of you,
    Amy
