Going for round #2 with donor 12969

We did our first cycle of IUI, with clomid last month.

All ready in the midst of cycle 2. Was wondering if anyone has had luck with 12969- he sold out SO quick with no vials available right now.

Thanks

  • My partner and I are about to start our second iui with this donor. We found out today that our first was a BFN. We used injectibles and the trigger shot. Once she gets her period we start again. And yes, his vials went like crazy!!!! We had just bought some right before he sold out. Hope we both get our BFP this month! :)
  • Best of luck this month!

It's so neat keep up with other couples going through the process.

Our clinic said 12969 was a great specimen - 24,000,000.

We just finished our 5 days of 50mg's of clomid and if everything goes as it did last month, IUI should happen this Sunday or Monday.

We purchased 4 vials initially, hoping not to need them all. But glad we got what we did. I called and they said he has more coming out in October.

    *Fingers crossed* for you ladies!
  • Our clinic also said he had great numbers.

My partner was on endometrin so I think it's delaying her menses from starting. But as soon as it starts we'll be at at it again. Last time she was on menopur for 7 days then had the ovidrel shot.

    We purchased 3 v
  • vials so we're hoping it happens in the next 2 tries.
  • Update.....

2nd insemination was this morning, specimen had 21,000,000 and 69% mobility.

    Fingers crossed!
  • That's awesome! I hope you guys have your BFP this time! Did you guys use the trigger shot?

We just had our baseline ultrasound this morning. It's only cd3 and we already had 2 10mm follicles and 6 other small ones, before starting the injections tonight. My wife should be getting inseminated sometime next week depending on follicle growth and then we'll sort of be in the 2ww with you guys.

Keep us updated! We're rooting for you!!! :)
  • EileenMJ -

Sounds like your off to a great start early on!

We had 2 mature follicles and a bunch of really small ones (no hope for those). We triggered with Ovidrel on Saturday and waited the 36hrs until Monday morning for the IUI. This time was slightly different timing. Apparently last time the LH surge had all ready occured and she took the trigger shot only 24 hours ahead of IUI.

We stuck with the clomid this round - you two are using injectables? If need be another round we're probally moving on to those.

Rooting for you as well :)
  • Yeah we're using injectibles because our RE said the chances of my partner getting pregnant without them are low since she has low ovarian reserve. We were actually quite surprised when we got her AMH result (.37) because she just turned 33. We didn't think it would be that low at her age already. So our RE is trying 3 medicated cycles and if pregnancy does not happen, she's recommending IVF, which is not affordable for us. So we're really hoping it happens this time because we only have one more shot left if it doesn't work.

Btw, our RE also inseminated her 24 hrs after the Ovidrel Inj last time and it seems like most do it 36 hrs later. Did you guys notice that too?
  • The whole process can become so costly quick! IVF is an automatic $6800 at our office, thats without meds. Definitely counting and hoping that the IUI process is successful.

We did notice that most people had their IUI's done 36 hours after the trigger. That was the plan the first round, but then they called back after getting that mornings bloodwork and said that her LH surge was all ready happening and to take the trigger right then. They scheduled it the next day.
So this time, we went in on a Saturday for bloodwork and ultrasound. They planned the trigger that night then IUI on Monday morning. I questioned the difference from last time and he basically said each cycle is different. In the back of my head I was thinking (hopefully this is no where close to the case) that this office does not do inseminsation on Sundays and they just put us in on monday because thats typically what happens. They're the experts but I dont hestitate to question the process...its our emotions and money!
  • Hi EileenMJ and martinbaby..

My wife and I will be going for our first iui with 12969 any day now... Just waiting for my surge. I'm new to this forum and I don't know all the lingo! We ordered 8 vials and my RE uses two per try. Our initial plan was to see how it goes with those 8 and then order more if needed. I was very dissapointed to see how fast he sold out. Glad to hear that more will become available in October! I would love to keep hearing your updates as you go through this process with 12969.
  • Update: 2 of our follicles grew from 10mm to 18mm with just 3 days of injections! My partner just got her Ovidrel shot and the IUI is tomorrow morning. It's happened so fast this time, she's only on cd5!!

Martinbaby: Hope you guys are doing good. Do you guys have a hard time waiting to test? Our first one we said we wouldn't test early but we did anyway..we're going to try to be better about it this time.

Sweetmost: That's where all the vials went! :) Are you doing medicated or unmediicated?

    Good luck everyone :)
  • EileenMJ- Wow, that was fast! Good Luck tomorrow

I had a horrible time waiting to test, tried 9dpi and then again 11dpi. If we do at all this time we will definitely be waiting for at least 12days after.

Hi Sweetmost- Any day now....exciting! We'll be in the 2 weeks of waiting at some point together :)

This board is a great opportunity to share / read about the process. Looking forward to everyone getting their positives ASAP.

What states are you ladies from? We're in New Jersey.
  • Martinbaby: We live in California :)

Our RE told us this morning that this vial had great numbers. 55 million and even better motility than what the cryobank had reported!!!!
  • Good luck to both of you as well :)

This is our first try but due to my blood results our RE decided to use clomid. I had an appt this morning. Two follicles at 19mm. Just took my trigger shot an hr ago and we have an appt for the iui Monday!

We are in NY. Where in NJ are you martinbaby?
  • Well ladies we should all officially be in the 2ww status now! Very exciting for all of us :)

Sweetmost - We're in South Jersey. Like 10, 2 hours from NYC.
  • Yes, I have now officially joined the 2ww club with you both! Good luck :)
  • Yayyy we're all in the 2ww now! This is so going to be our month!

Are you guys on progesterone suppositories to help sustain pregnancy?

My partner has been having some dull cramps the past few days since the iui. Have you guys had any symptoms?

Martinbaby: Only one more week for you guys!!!

Btw why did you guys pick this donor? Did you need a cmv negative one?
  • Would either of you be interested in moving this discussion to an email group? Just so out personal info doesn't keep getting seen by the public on this board. If your interested my email address is sweetmost@hotmail.com

I haven't started the progesterone yet. My first dose will be tomorrow night. So, for now I haven't experienced any cramping. I am only about 28 hrs post iui though. I actually feel cometely normal. I hope that's a positive thing!

CMV didn't factor into our decision. We looked at many different donors and ultimately chose 12969 based on his profession, skills, and interests. He seems very similar to my partner.
  • I wouldnt mind moving to email. limartin115@gmail.com

I certainly hope this month is it!

We are not on progesterone suppositories. My partner had slight cramping the day off and a tad the day after. Other than that no signs/symptoms of anything.

We were looking for a CMV negative donor. After reading all the info out there, the risk is extremely low selecting someone positive, but in the end we decided to just go with negative.
We went with 12969 because his coloring hair/eyes were close to mine, we really liked his interests and liked his family relationship etc. Come to realize though that he is just about the ONLY one in his family that has blue eyes! After ready all through the family info...tons of brown in there.
  • Im fighting the urge to make her home test on Friday am! That would be 12 dpiui...trying to stay strong and wait until Monday!
  • I hope this month is it as well! You guys are almost at the end of your tww martinbaby!

Our RE required us to pick a neg cmv donor since my partner tested negative for it. We felt like it limited our choices somewhat but in the end we feel like we made a great choice with this donor.

Really? He is the only one in his family with blue eyes? We only purchased his baby photos; we haven't bought any of the extra information yet. That is interesting! We also noticed that there is a ton of women in his family and not that many men...
  • Martin baby: it is so hard waiting until 14dpiui! Last time we caved and tested on 10, 11, 12, and 13dpiui. If you use a frer it might come up on 12dpiui!!!
  • Ok ladies, today is 12 dpiui ..... We tried to fight our urge to test.... BUT we GOT a faint line!!!!!! We'll take that as a yes :)
Well continue to test tomorrow and te next day to make sure it keeps getting darker
I'm happy to share with you all... Can't wait for you both to get your results. It would be amazing to all get Yes's!
  • Congratulations!!!!!! That's so awesome!!!!!

When do you go in for your beta? :)

I hope this is our month as well!!! We'll keep you guys updated. We find out on Friday.
  • BFN again :(
  • I'm so sorry EileenMJ :(

    Maybe it's still too early?
  • It's already 13dpiui and the negative came up right away. Not even a faint line. Ugh this process is so emotionally draining....
  • EileenMJ

How are you girls doing? Im hoping you jumped right back in this month?
  • Hi Martinbaby! How are you guys doing? Do you have your first ultrasound soon?

Unfortunately this month is a no-go for us. We went in the other day for a baseline ultrasound and the doctor saw a 25mm cyst so we have to wait until next month.

We actually have an appt though with a new RE for a second opinion because we feel like the other doctor isn't timing (24 hrs first time, 22 hours post ovidrel second time!) it right and overall isn't a good fit for us. Our new RE does IVF as well in the event that we have to go that route.
  • Doing well, thanks!

I am so sorry that it didnt happen this month :(

I think that if your not comfortable with who your currently seeing, absolutely get a second opinion and switch it up. Maybe its time to move onto injectables to up the chances?

We have been getting bloodwork 2x's a week and things are going good *fingers crossed* Going in next week for an ultrasound.

Please keep us posted...your time is coming!
