  • Tomigrl good luck with the insemination. are you taking meds etc when you do this? It just seems like everyone is having twins, not everyone posts after that get pregnant. A lot of folks just have one. Keep us up to date. I only had one, could not imagine having two at once.
  • Good luck Tomigrl.

Twins runs heavily in my family, so I've expected it my entire life. Thankfully I wasn't blindsided by it. My mom and her mom are both twins, so I've actually always wanted twins. I never thought I wouldn't be married having them, but oh well, our plans are never as we hope they are, but still fantastic.
  • Anissa- i will do 5 days of clomid, then the hcg trigger shot, followed by the progesterone after insemination. double insemination if my LH numbers are high enough. i had a really tough day today, had my financial consultation, and it kind of blew me out of the water. i would gladly take the blessing of twins if that were what God chose for me. feeling overwhelmed today, but know i will wake up tomorrow and get back on the horse. because there is nothing in the world i want more than this. Melissa- Thanks for listening and all the well wishes!! I hope to have my period in the next couple days, so i will keep you in the loop! :)
  • Tomigrl the only thing I can suggest is try and I know this is hard to stay relaxed when it happens, and keep wicked busy during the 2WW. I did even though I tested like 3 times and was shocked that I was pregnant. Best thing that happened to me.

I tried to stay relaxed and the night of the first insemination I went out with a gf and had a martini or something like that. That was the last one that I had until a month after he was born. I drink here and there but not a lot. I think I have had like 4 drinks in almost a year.

Good luck and keep us up to date.
  • Tomigrl - hang in there! There are lots of overwhelming moments, just keep in mind the ultimate goal.
  • thanks everyone! really helps to talk it out! :)
  • Congratulations! I am actually at the end of my IVF cycle with 12742. I find out on Thursday if it worked. Unfortunately, I was premenapausal at 35, and my eggs were very limited. After all the meds, my fertility doctor was only able to retrieve one mature egg. Hoping for good news that the little guy stuck. If so, I will also have a sibling for your little ones. Fingers crossed!
  • BTW...I know that there's been more than one pregnancy reported for this donor. Do you happen to know of the others?
  • Good luck adambro!
I don't know who else has pregnancies with the donor, I know there were a few others trying. I gave them my email address to contact me and I haven't heard anything from anyone.

Feel free to contact me anytime. I'd love for my children to know their siblings.

  • Unfortunately, my first cycle wasn't a success. :(
I'm going to try again in March. I get 4 tries, so hopefully one of these times will work. If this does work, I would love for my child to know other siblings. Thanks for your email address. I will definitely be in touch once I finally get the good news. I'm in Chicago, by the way. Where are you located?
  • I'm sorry. Keep your spirits up :)
I'm in New Orleans. I have some friends in Chicago. And friends here that have family there and they all travel back and forth a few times a year.
I find out beginning of March the sexes...I'll keep you posted.
