Game On!

Alright ladies, it's almost here. I've been taking meds this last week and a half and went in today for my ultrasound. The doctor saw 8 follicles of good size, so I'll give myself the trigger shot this evening. We are scheduled for egg retrieval this Friday. I'm so excited to finally get this show on the road. I feel I've jumped through many hurdles to get to this point although in hindsight my road hasn't been nearly as difficult as it's been for others. Just some roadblocks that kept popping up preventing me from moving ahead. So glad to finally being doing something! Keep your fingers crossed for me that those 8 follicles all have good eggs in them. Best of luck to all who are out there on their journey.

Thanks for the well wishes Jenn and KBT. Procedure went well today. 5 eggs retrieved. I'll find out tomorrow how many of them get fertilized.
@jenn- how are you feeling? You're back to your regular OB right?
@KBT- would you suggest taking the day off after the transfer?
  • Options
Yes. especially depending on type of work. I didn't have pain but I started to cramp some when I was on my feet to long (I'm a teacher)

Rest up and take an easy over the weekend.

Thanks KBT. And are you having to give yourself progesterone shots? I'm finding it hard to wrap my head around having to give myself an IM shot. The SQ shots were easy in comparison.

So good news ladies. Out of the 5 eggs we retrieved, 5 fertilized! Can't wait to see what the report is tomorrow morning.

    Great news!

Soooo...I got the call this morning to let me know if I'd be having a day 3 transfer today. The RE told me that 4 of my embryos are at the 8 cell stage and 1 is at 7 cells which is where they expect them to be. Based on these numbers they want to push back my transfer until day 5. I think this is good news as we can make a better determination as to which blastocysts to transfer.

Great news Sf13! Keeping positive thoughts and prayers heading your way!

I am now seeing my regular OB and had an ultrasound last Thursday.....I saw little arms wiggling! So freaking cool! I'm officially 10 weeks :)
  • Options
Jenn that is so awesome! I'm certain you were in awe at the appointment.

@jenn- wiggling arms? how cool is that?!?! :) how are you feeling? Tired or nauseated? 10 weeks and you are well on your way. I laughed at my retrieval when the nurse told me that technically I was 2 weeks pregnant. If only! Keep us updated please.

Yeah its arms were moving back and forth itty bitty but the doc and I both saw it! I feel good! First 8-9 weeks were rough. I've never been more tired in my entire life. My "morning" sickness was more in the afternoon and it was just nausea no vomiting. It turned into all day sickness at about week 8 and I did have dry heaves.....ick! I've just started to get my energy back and really no nausea! I go for genetic testing at week 12 with a specialist. Apparently in NJ it is now standard as my friends all had to do with their pregnancy in the last few years.

Hope everything is going well for you!!

Well there's no turning back now. We transferred 3 embryos today based on the RE's/doctor's recommendations. Now the wait. Ugh! I did do acupuncture before and after the transfer..I figured I could take all the help I could get. Lots of baby dust to everyone TTC.

1 day closer. Any projects to occupy time?

Does taking my Girl Scout troop camping count? I know I should be taking it easy, but we have had this planned for months. I'm going to make my girls do all the heavy lifting. ;) Lucky for me they are a bit older and can take more responsibility.

Yes! They will definitely help distract you for a couple of days. Are you on progesterone?
  • Options
I am. I am not good at giving myself shots. Are you taking progesterone? BTW I'll have cell coverage where we're going so I expect to see that BFP post from you on Saturday. ;)

I'm taking crinone suppositories. The IM needle scares me
  • Options
@KBT I'm taking the crinone suppositories as well. Make sure to wear panty liners and don't be surprised if some of it "clumps" out. Maybe TMI but the stuff can be icky!

So ladies my beta number today was 57.2 so I guess the key is what happens every 48 hours for the next 4 days.
  • Options
I think that's the second worst wait. You get the BFP then have to make sure it sticks. Argh!
  • Options
    Yes agreed
  • Options
@KBT- is today your second beta check? Let us know how it goes.
@jenn- how are things going? How are you feeling?
