I forgot to mention that you might inquire about another test (of the fallopian tubes) that you can get that's less involved, painful, and expensive: a Saline Ultrasound or a Sonohysterogram (SHG). That's what I did and everything was a-okay.
Also, my RE prescribed Femara for me (along with Gonal-F shots) rather than Clomid (since it's known to thin the lining of the uterus), so that's another option you might look into.
I'm now 11dpiui and I appear to be spotting, but it feels like my period is coming on. I had what felt like menstrual cramps last night and this morning and my periods always start very light for the first day. But if so, it would be almost a week early, which is unheard of for me, and since I'm still using nightly progesterone suppositories, I thought that prevented one's period from starting?
If it's spotting, then I'll take it as a good sign since that can be an indication of early pregnancy, but if it's my actual period, then major bummer.
I'll see how it goes and check back later or tomorrow.
I'm just now ending my 2ww. I'm on 13dpiui and tested yesterday with a BFP. This was our first IUI so I'm a bit nervous. The HCG level was 62.8 so after tomorrow 14dpiui, testing the HCG again, I'll know for sure!!! This has been SUCH a process!
For my own part, the spotting has continued and not turned into my period, so I'm feeling hopeful about that. Also, I tested yesterday and today (days 11 and 12---couldn't resist) and got a faint second line each time. Sunday's my official 14dpiui testing day, so I'll know for sure then.
Talk about a process---this is my 7th IUI, plus one ICI. I'm ready!
Hi CSS, isn't a faint line a positive?? I don't think it's like an opk kit. That's a great update! Congratulations in advance :).
Smittinbaby. I feel your pain, but you have to get right back into it. Just press forward! This too shall pass ;). I am probally right behind you in the depressing reality check. My 14dpiuu is mon, but feeling the pms, and cramps creeping up. Just keeping occupied with company this weekend.
Hi Aliciacherie, Congratulations on your BFP! I hope you keep us up on the latest. Even though you are beyond this point now!
I'm just using the cheapy test strips (but they haven't failed me yet) and a second line, however faint, is definitely a positive (once you're past the trigger shot window for false positives). So this is really exciting!
I started testing on day 11 and it's come up with a second line everyday since and it's gotten progressively darker (although it's still faint). Since today was 13dpiui, I'm feeling pretty confident. But tomorrow's test will tell for sure and then I'll need a blood test to confirm.
I've done this so many times that I'm almost scared of being overly optimistic, but things are definitely looking good. I'll check back when I know for sure.
I got another positive reading on day 14, but since the second line was still very faint, I bought another test with clearer results (plus sign for pregnancy, minus if you're not), took it this morning (day 15), and got a plus sign. So things are looking good!
But I'm still going to wait and see if I get my period in the next few days and then take it from there as far as further tests.
(((CSS!!!)))) Oh Yay. Lucky #7!! are you trippin? Still in denial or what? It's time for a celebration! You made it through the IUI marathon. Well Congratulations to you! I was not so fortunate :(. Natures little gift came Sunday. Waaa. What the hell!! I dunno. We will prob skip out a round to get our bearings straight. I know it will happen, but this us way more involved then I had ever thought. K bye CSS enjoy the victory!!
Hi April, unfortunately I am a BFN :( I am just going through the motions again. Starting clomid today yadayada. Thought about taking a break, but I don't want to stop the momentum. So of course I will keep you all posted. Thanks for being so kind :) I have found this place to be very supportive, and a huge motivator. Hey, I did write u back on the 4th IUI feeling good. Are you flipping through the pages? What is the word on your lil bun? Are you guys having twins ;)~ well I will be in touch. XOXOXO
I probably am in denial :-) However, I continue to meet with mixed results, so I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic for now.
I did a blood test yesterday and tested positive, but my doctor was concerned that my hcg level was low (25, which is on the high end of the "maybe" category) and she wants me to test again. So I'm going back on either Friday or Monday.
At the same time, I still haven't gotten my period and my possible pregnancy symptoms have continued (my boobs were sooo sore yesterday!), so I'm hopeful.
I'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you, LSmsw, and others on this thread, but keep chugging along, ladies!
Timesinifinity - I am so sorry to hear the news. I am happy that you guys decided to push through. :) Keep me posted. Hmmm...not sure about the twins thing!! :) Our appt is on the 16th. Ha!! You were right!! I wasn't flipping through the pages!! Sorry about that!! Just ignore me............
LSmsw, I feel like a heal! I must have overlooked your last post. I just realized when I read CSS's reply. I'm sorry to hear about the bfn? I'm in the same boat with ya. Just keep plugging along and hope that our prayers will soon be answered?
CSS, I will hold my breath for you. It sounds like another nervewracking wait. Sheeesh! I'm sure it's fine?
Aprilfoolz, thanks for keeping in touch! Can't wait to hear about those twins ??. Haha just kidding! I will probally be the one that ends up seeing double, because I keep teasing you. Oh well. I would just hope that they were healthy. So yes we are back on the crazy train?Im kind of getting use to my dejevous routine. Starting the clomid helps me focus on the long term goal. Instead of freaking out about the latest BFN. Ok, well 6th IUI prob Sat the 19th. ? Bye for now ;)
Sorry about the random question marks????? All over!! I was trying to use these emoticons. :) ;)~ (.) and it didn't work.i guess it's just an app for texting. Anyhooo toodles.
Congratulations CSS!!!! How exciting!!! Keep us posted!! Timesinfity- no worries. Sorry to hear you got a BFN, too. I'm hoping my next IUI will be 6/17 or 6/18 so we'll be going again at the same time. Good luck everybody!
i dont know what to do... i am five days late and i had a blood test done and it was neg... how could this be? i havent been late in over 9 months... what should i do?
My cycle was always regular until I started trying to get pregnant and then my period would often be 1-4 days late. The time it was four days late, I thought for sure I had to be pregnant, but no go. I'm not sure why this happens, or if that's what's happening with you, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.
Well, ladies, it looks like my cautiousness was warranted because I just received news that my hcg levels have dropped down to 3, which means that I had a miscarriage (due to chromosomal abnormalities---happens a lot).
I didn't feel anything and the reason I haven't gotten my period was that I've still been taking progesterone, so I was pretty unaware. However, I woke up yesterday and today feeling normal (i.e. not pregnant), so I had a feeling something might be wrong.
This is hard, but in a weird way, I'm encouraged that I was at least able to get pregnant. And now I have to take a 1-2 month rest, so I have time to think about what I'm going to do next.
Thanks for listening to all my venting on this thread and I hope this doesn't discourage anyone.
CSS dont get discouraged..the time was just not right you will get preggo again keep the faith...good luck when you start trying again and remember to stay positive.
Hi CSS, I'm so sorry about your loss. I've been following this thread for a while now. It was very interesting. Anyway, please don't give up hope. Your time will come.
Hey CSS, so sorry to hear, but you're right, now you know it's not impossible. Positive thoughts are coming your way.
I went in Wed to see if I was ready to trigger, but I wasn't yet. I go in tomorrow for another ultrasound and if I have mature folicles I'm hoping for a Sunday IUI.
((((CSS)))) I'm very sorry :( I thought it was a go! Well like you said, at least you know it is possible. It's such an incredible process. I'm surprised there are so many people in the world. It's hard to understand how mothernature knows that a baby was not meant to go to full term, but at the same time there are women who use abortion as birth control. I never gave the subject much thought untill I started TTC. Now it really pisses me off. Here we are pouring our heart and soul into this, and then there are really unfit parents that conceive all the time. Well bable bable ;) Just keep your chin up. It's going to happen!! You have to tell yourself that! I am also skipping out this round :( Not by choice. I went in for an ultrasound CD11(good times! How embarassing. I call it the dildo wand). I called the following day, because I wanted to put in my order. Then the nurse said that my Dr. (not re.. an OB) wanted me to pass this round, and discuss some other options. I was like oh that's F....ing wonderful! Well in my thoughts anyway ;). So who knows what that means, but they schedueled me to come in Mon. We shall see. A little freaked out though. I'll let you know. K bye :)
((((((Aprilfoolz))))))) How cool was that?? Just one? Dang it! I can't tease you anymore. Your probally right. Now I'm screwed. Except I had a dream, that we had triplets. Can you freakin imagine! If it happens it happens. I will love them them all the same. So I will be passing up this month :( per my Doc. They will let me know why tommorrow. The nurse said that I'm not cycling like they thought. So being on Vacation we decided to cut loose. I have been Polly pure since this all began, and I am just enjoying my little break. Eating seafood, coldcuts, and drinking Corona. We also got to gamble a little, but not a big winner yet. Tommorrow river rafting baby! I'll be in touch! Tata for now! XOXO
Thanks, ladies. I'm doing a lot better now, although still feeling slightly adrift. But I'm trying to relax and enjoy the time off.
On that note, ttfn---you're too funny! I too have been renewing my love of brewskies, shell fish, and other goodies. Sorry that you're in the same boat (as far as taking time off), but may as well take advantage of it!
As for the ultrasound "dildo wand," I thought the same thing the first time I saw it. It reminded me of certain, er, products for sale at my local Good Vibrations shop. Not half as much fun, of course ;-)
So true about the unfairness of it all and how you don't become aware of it until you're TTC. I've tried to put that out of my mind though because it'll drive you nuts.
Hello Xinfinity and CSS - I know easier said than done, but relax, have a great time and try not to think about it. It will happen. My wife and I took a month off and the very next month, we were pregnant. I think this time off and the hsg procedure helped tremendously! :) I'll be thinking about you guys.
