Anyone else entering 2ww this week?

Hello,
I was just curious if there was anyone starting there 2ww.
I am having my 5th IUI at 3p today. I thought it would fun to find someone on a similar cycle. Ok holding my breath. New donor, and positive this is the one! Ya baby! K, time to shave. Byeee

  • I went in for my IUI on Sunday, so I'm right behind you. And I also picked a new donor and feel very positive about that. Best of luck to both of us!

  • i went today at 11 am... best of luck to both of you...
  • Well, it's nice to meet you both :) Keep me posted on your 2ww. We are in the countdown together. Day after IUI. Nothing new to report. Just taking it easy. I did everything different this time. We changed donors and Sperm bank. I kind of feel like a traitor, but Fairfax does not have a bulletin board to chit chat. That is their downside, but I feel much happier with this donor. I stopped taking my temp everyday. Just used a couple of the very expensive clearblu lh test only after my cheapie ones appeared to turn +. We shared a bottle of very nice wine this weekend. Which we have not done since we started this process. Of course that was before the IUI. I just feel less uptight this time around. I feel excited about this again. I was starting to loose sight of that magical beginning that we embarked on. So good luck to all of us!! Sorry, I tend to babble. Hey CSS, I see you are also a Caligirl. Even better ;) ttfn
  • Hello I'm Jennifer. I went in for my 4th IUI on May 20th. We also switched donors this time (we switched from 11485 to 3800) I am also a Ca. girl we live in Lakewood near Long Beach.
This is our 1st try since Feb, I was having a really hard time with not getting pregnant & need an emotional & financial break & my partner was feeling the same. I also have renewed hope this time around. Baby Dust to all of US!
  • Hi Jennifer,
I've always wanted to check out the Long Beach area.
well #4 seems has prooved to be a successful number for many people. So may this be the last IUI you have to do. At least until you decide tohave another baby. Do you already have children? I thought I remember reading that you did. Or maybe that was Hazeleyes. Who knows, too many stories so little time. I hear you on the financial woes. I am already strategizing the next round just in case. My insurance will only cover IVF after a year of trying. So that's the last resort, but if I have to do it that way I will. In the meantime, I have done financing, loans, and payday advances. Screw it, I don't care, it's beyond worth it. I'm a hustler, that's for sure. Once again, good luck to us, and I can't believe I am saying this again. Babydust too! That saying just creeps me out. Lolol. K, gotta go, Baby Story is on. Haha. If my Mom only knew! She use to make me watch it all the time, and I would get so pissed. Telling her how I was not ready for that in my life. Which I wasn't in my twenties. I liked those selfish years. Now, I'm ready!!!
  • Sorry bout the typo, Seems has prooved??? What the? I do this on my phone. So sometimes I get ahead of myself. K bye
  • Have you seen this trailor? It looks pretty cute. Except for the part that it looks like Julian Moore cheats on her woman. Typical. So annoying, but I totally can imagine this is what our kids will probally be like. Another reason I'm glad we have an open donor just in case.

Sorry, I can't seem to attach the link on my phone. Laptop is busted. Anyway, it's called: The Kids Are All Right
  • Where in Ca. are you Timesinfinity?
We do not have any children & we both only want one (unless we have twins ;) we have Kaiser & No fertility coverage so we are all out of pocket. but well worth it! I am very lucky that my partner has a good job as I do not make much, however we are blowing through her savings rapidly! I love baby story. How about...Baby Blessings instead of baby dust? Lol.
Please keep me posted. Do you mind sharing your donor# ?

  • the link came up just fine. I watched it, looks like it might be cute. Funny too.
We did a closed donor, the idea of an open donor freaks my partner out.(and it costs more$) but I love the sibling registry idea. Do you already have a child/children?
  • Hey Smittinbaby, cute name. We live in Tahoe, Ca. Kind of isolated for a couple lesbos, but this place has been very good to us. A lot of the people here originated from the bay area. So I find that it's a pretty liberal town. Plus beautiful summers. I mean how can you make change, if we all just congregate in one place. Ya baby blessings! That sounds better. I know baby dust similar to I guess fairy dust, but it just sounds morbid. You know ashes to ashes. Nevermind. So funny, because I ordered those cheapy LH kits from Babyhopes, and it came with a little baggie of babydust. Omg! Rofllmao! Sorry old texter here. Yes I still use LOL too. But, the little baggie is very cute! I think I will sprinkle It on the bed later. I know, we were freaked out about the open donor too, but at least they can not seek legal custody. I did check out the sibling registry too. It's pretty cool. We were using donor 12182. Which is funny, because he is a Mark Rufalo look a like. Like in that movie. Well Baby blessings to all! ;) kit
  • Good luck everyone! You are in my prayers!
  • I had my first IUI on May 20th. I'm 40 and used Clomid and Ovidrel using donor 11866. This 2WW is more nervewracking than I could have imagined!! I am hyperaware of every midbody sensation, holding my breath if I 'feel' anything before realizing "nah, I'm just hungry" :)
Best of luck to ALL of us and babydust a plenty!!!
  • Hi Timesinfinity,

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area and this was my, gulp, 7th IUI (plus one ICI, but that was such a fiasco I don't really count it). This one and the last were medicated and as I wrote before, I switched to a new donor this time.

I felt unusually crampy the day after my IUI and even a little bit yesterday. Seems back to normal today except that I've been peeing a lot (but I drink a lot of H2O, so who knows?) and feeling slight bladder pressure when I do (I know, TMI).

But I'm trying not to get in the habit of obsessing on every twinge, mood swing, etc. Just have to wait out the two weeks and try and relax (or pretend to be relaxed!).

  • LSmsw- we are on the same 2ww we did out 4th IUI on the 20th.
Timesinfinity- I ordered a TTC meditation CD from baby hopes & received the same little baggy of baby dust. I put it in my purse, so it would be with me all the time. BTW the CD was Awful! It was geared to straight couples on how to "relax & enjoy their lovemaking" GAG! Not worth the $20 for sure, hopefully the baby dust is.
CSS- I try to remind myself that the first week if the sperm did fiund my egg that it is still traveling down the tube. Since normally implantation takes place around day 9, I agree (as i'm sure we all do) that it is SO HARD not to obsess over every twinge & cramp. I have noticed that I am more relaxed this time for me the 1st IUI 2WW was the hardest.
    BABY BLESSINGS TO ALL!
  • Hi CSS- I must say I've been having the same symptoms; crampy for two days after and peeing alot!! I have always drank lots of water, but this has been excessive.

Smittinbaby- glad I'm going through this with another!

I purchased a guided imagery/relaxation cd for IUI/IVF from Circlebloom.com It has tracks for 28 days and I find them to be quite good. I enjoy listening to it a great deal and find it does center me.
Thanks for info about implantation, too, I did not know that!!
Baby dust for all of us!!
  • LSmsw- Thanks for the info about the IUI relaxation CD. I hopefully will not need it next month but I wrote it down just in case.
    Baby Blessings to All!
  • Hi CSS, not tmi. I love TMI. Bring it ;). I love all those ancient threads I google about early symptoms. It just goes to show you evrybody does this. Of course I have had every symptom. I feel so stupid when I do get AF. Then I realize I totally convinced myself. Although last time I did have spotting at 4dpo and 6dpo. I thought implantion for sure. Even thought day 4 seemed a little early. My Dr said that it could of been, but m/c. That women have them often without ever knowing they were pregnant. Who knows. I'm not sure if I liked that answer. I know what you mean about writing off the 1st attempt. I actually think our first two were botched. Not well timed, not ovulating, and low postthaw count. I guess that's why it takes a few attempts. We are still in the game.
  • Hi LSmsw looks like you've made it a week. Now just try to enjoy your Memorial weekend, and it will almost be two weeks. Any symptoms yet?
Hey Smittenbaby, that is too funny. Maybe you can sell the DVD on eBay. I like your idea of keeping the baby dust in your purse. So after I put a little on our bed, and watched my dog eat it. In the purse it went. Then it came flying out when I went to grab my checkbook. It was like one of those slowmotion clips. It looked like a little bag of crack. LoLoL. Oh man! I don't think anyone really got a good look, but that was worse then accidently pulling out a tampon.
  • Just out of curiosity, is anyone else having a terrible time sleeping? For the last 4 nights I have been waking at 2am and unable to fall back to sleep, which is unusual for me. And I've been feeling hot. Could this be hormones, whether from Ovidrel or something better?
This not sleeping is wearing me out!!
    Thanks everyone. We're almost there!!!!
  • Hi Timesinfinity,

Yeah, I guess TMI is pretty irrelevant around here ;-)

On that note, I've continued to have slight cramping, but for the last day or so, it's all been on my left side (the left ovary had produced the largest follicle and I had sharp, stabby pains on the left in the run-up to my IUI). At Day 7, it is too early for implantation cramping (you're right smittinbaby), so I don't know what's going on.

Other than that, I'm still peeing a lot, but that's somewhat normal for me. My boobs feel fine, which worries me since most women who get pregnant report sensitivity and/or veininess pretty early on. But I'll just have to stay positive and wait out week #2 (damnit!).

  • Sorry about the multiple posts!
  • Hi LSmsw,

I haven't had any trouble sleeping, but I did have a hot flash or two during the course of using fertility meds. Not post-IUI though.

I suspect you can't sleep because you're mind is preoccupied with all this stuff, but you never know... :-)

    --CSS

PS: I don't know if it's an absolute prerequisite for posting on this section of the forum, but I have to confess for the record that I'm not in a same-sex couple. I just like the conversation over here! And some of my best friends are... ;-)
  • Hi CSS, sounds like you are experiencing some early symptoms. I don't think its too early for implantation. It seems like most sites estimate 6- 12 dpo. I can't seem to find any changes except still having hot flashes. Which usually ends after clomid cycle. I havnt had this w/ the others. So I shall wait and see. Just trying to stay busy. I thought this was interesting about the cramping:

  • Thanks--that is encouraging. I've experienced another symptom mentioned at that link, "shooting pains in the vagina or vulva." It wasn't quite that bad, but I noticed it yesterday and thought, hmm, something's going on down there--lol...

  • I just found some info that indicates that hot flashes during pregnancy are not uncommon:

  • Hello all, I have mostly been looking at the FB boards because everytime someone writes after you you get a message & I like that better than trying to find old boards on here, b/c I cant always.
Well Yesterday I woke up with heavy spotting, on & off old/new blood, same today 12dpo (May 20th)since I normally spot b4 my period I am guessing it did not take. I had a really hard day yesterday & avoided telling my partner all day while we were at a bbq. She finally asked how I was doing when we got home & I told her. We are both pretty upset. Like we all get i'm sure. I just asked my Dr. to order that dye in the fallopian tubes test, & hopefully it wont take kaiser 2 months to get me scheduled for that. I think 2 more attemps will be our limit, so I want to do all that I can since Clomid is out for me. Glad you both seem to be doing well on your 2ww
I am suppose to test Thur & I will dispite my Period. More Baby Blessings to all!
  • Hi Smittinbaby,

So sorry to hear about the potential pre-period spotting, but do test on Thursday nonetheless. And hang in there! This was my 7th IUI and I haven't give up yet.

I couldn't resist and tested myself early twice and first it was positive (but that was likely from the trigger shot) and then negative, but I know that's not the final word. My symptoms have continued to some degree, plus slightly sore breasts, but I've heard women can have all these symptoms and then still get a BFN, so I'll wait and see.

    Keep us posted.
