Hoping to be knocked up in Hawaii :)

Hi! We've been using the Cryobank website for a couple months now and have recently selected our donor! My wife, Pamela, and I live in Hawaii and are hoping to start trying to concieve in June. We will spend the next eight months getting my body ready for pregnancy. We're converting to organic eating, exercising more regularly, getting off the coffee, and making sure our finances are in order. However, we have been talking about and planning for this baby for years and cannot wait to start trying! We'd love to connect with couples that are going through the same process! We live in a pretty small community and don't have gay couples trying or with kids in our network here.

    Hello Lauren! Your thread title made me lol! I am also planning - but not going to actually try for another year or two. I want to finish my Masters degree first. But I am definitely doing some of the things you are - trying to get healthy (but not giving up the coffee yet!!) and thinking about finances.

    Have you decided on a donor yet? I have a list, but who knows if they will be there when I am ready!

    We did actually just decide on a donor. After reading many many profiles, we purchased the extended history and personality profile this week. Once we read those, the choice was obvious. We really couldn't imagine someone coming closer to exactly what we're looking for. We're pretty thrilled.

    I must say, I was so excited when I saw the title of your post! I live in American Samoa, but will be moving to Oahu in January to get my IUI's done. I lived in Oahu from 2001-2004, and my son was born at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children. It would be great to get information from you such as which RE/clinic will you be using in Hawaii? I was thinking about Dr. Huang from Advance Reproductive Center or Celia E. Dominguez at Hawaii Reproductive Center. Have you heard of these two before? I look forward to hearing from you and good luck!

    Aloha Tara!

    That's great that you are planning to be on Oahu! However, Pamela and I are on Kauai and plan to use a clinic on island. I have not heard of either of those doctors and really don't have any information about Oahu at all! I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Best of luck to you. If you know of a good attorney for second parent adoption, we're looking around.

    Hey pamela, just read you heading and like evryone it caught my eye...i also wanted to go to a reproductive doctor in hawaii...and found some reaally nice ones...i was curious though what donor did you choose? we were looking for one A.s.a.p because our appointment is next week..we were looking in to 05706..
