in Single Mothers by Choice
Anyone else out there around my age that has had a successful pregnancy with IUI? My docotor has only had 1 at my age...

    I know a lot of moms who wished they would've gone straight to IVF, as they wasted precious time (and in the end, money) with IUI. I know no moms over 42 who have had successful IUI's. My RE won't even agree to do one. If you can -- IVF!!

    I was two months shy of turning 44 when I became pregnant through a medicated IUI.

    I tried iui beginning at age 43. 5 times no luck. I have now done one cycle of IVF (up to ER, no transfer yet). I wish I had gone straight to IVF.


    BTW, congratulations KellyK! How many tried did it take you?

    I tried seven IUIs within a year time period.

    If you don't mind me asking Kellyk what meds did you use? I have now done 4 rounds of ICI?IUI and no luck yet... I was thinking of calling my doctor Monday to try medicated. I had a miscarriage in August at almost 6 weeks from a natural pregnancy. I decided to go the donor route, and I am starting o feel very defeated.
