Hello, my wife and I just welcomed our perfect baby boy into the world in December. We live in California where she was legally able to be listed on the birth certificate as the non-birthing parent. However, I read that for legal reasons we still need to complete an adoption to secure her rights as a parent. I know that California has an expedited process called a "stepparent adoption" just looking for anyone who has gone through this process and may any guidance.

It was a long and ridiculously drawn out process when in the end it was very simple. Are you in California?
