Chances of miscarriage

My wife had a miscarriage back in April at 9 weeks and we found out that the fetus and 4/5 frozen embryos had major chromosome problems. We just transferred our 1 good embryo with IVF a week ago. We don't know if she is pregnant yet but she is having all of the same signs that she is such as cramping so we think she is. We are terrified that we will miscarry again. She is 35 but in good health. Anyone have any knowledge on chances of miscarrying again after doing PGD testing? Thanks!

    We're very sorry to hear about your loss and hope that you are both doing as well as possible.

    Unfortunately, miscarriages are very common occurrences and there are many possible causes. PGD is genetic screening on an embryo that is performed to help optimize your chances of having a baby who does not have a major chromosome abnormality. Chromosome abnormalities are one of the most common causes of miscarriage; however, PGD does not eliminate the chance of miscarrying a pregnancy.
