Geographical Limit for Donors?

If I understand correctly I believe California Cyrobank provides a limit for the number of families conceiving with the same donor. I wonder however if there is a geographical limit as well?

At a recent SMC meetup it was discovered that two members both used the same donor from CCB, both purchasing within months of each other and they both are using the same fertility clinic. I do realize it's unavoiable, and that an offspring will have half siblings. But back years agop when I was an egg donor I know I was limited to three donations per geographical area.

Any thoughts on this or is the family limit the only restriction CCB implies?

    Our maximum goal is 25-30 family units worldwide per donor. The average is closer to about 12-15 families.

    We do not limit the purchase of donors by geographical area. Some clients travel to different areas to be inseminated, families may move around, and children may go away to college.

    We provide a free Sibling Registry for clients to interact with other families that have children from the same donor. Our Bulletin Boards and Facebook page also allow families to communicate. We recommend that clients are open with their children about how they were conceived, so that their child is aware of potential half-siblings, as well as their donor's family medical history.

    Egg donor programs operate a bit differently, especially since the process of retrieving eggs is much more complex.
