BFP 13 dpo 1st try at home!!!!!

Holy cow!!
Tested this morning 13dpo and got a faint BFP. Tested agian this afternoon after not using the bathroom or drinking for two hours and got a darker BFP!!! We are SOOOO Excited! I can't believe it worked and on our first try at that!! YAY!!!!

    WOW.... was it AI with fresh sperm or ICI? I have not had much luck with AI, fresh sperm even...It is frustrating and the timing has been right still a BFN, except for one BFP-you are very lucky it worked the first time. What did you use to inject the sperm?

    Misskris we used a 5ml syringe after we deposited it, I wore an instead cup through the night. We used ICI. I had been testing my ovulation with tests for 3 months prior to get a good idea of what day to do it. Also, I started taking Robitussin DM beginning the last day of my period once a day up until 2 days after I got the + OPK. It thins your cervical mucous and creates a better environment for sperm to travel and live longer. Also, I started taking a low dose aspirin once a day about a month before we tried. There are studies showing that it can help stimulate ovulation and also can help prevent miscarriages. I am still taking the aspirin and probably will through my 2nd trimester.

    Congratulations!! When exactly did you insem? My wife and I did one last night and one this morning, but i'm still detecting a surge so i'm wondering if we were a little too early?

    I tested twice a day. 13dpo I got a negative in the morning at 6:00 but, at 7:00 that night it was positive. I learned from doing the OPK tests for several months that once I detect my surge it only stays positive for a day or less. I think it's different for every person. So, once we got the positive test that night, we inseminated probably 3 hours later because for all I know, my surge started earlier in the day.... I was worried we did it too soon, but I guess not. My cycle's are short (25 days) and I think my LH surge comes and goes quickly because of the short cycle.

    OK.. I've used a syringe in past too,,with fresh sperm even, OPK's all of that and the only BFP I got was when I had an IUI done thru my RE in May.. but I miscarried. I am also on baby aspirin, prenatals, lots of supplements. I may buy a vial of the ICI sperm and do this at home next cycle if this IUI I am getting this week, is a failure. How do you thaw the sperm? are the instructions clear? And you dont get that much do you? A teaspoon I think,, knowing my luck I will either not thaw it properly or spill it. I am single and really dont have a partner to help me with this. Thanks
