2nd Round of IUI

This is my 2nd round of IUI. I am 35yrs old and have no fertility problems.I am currently waiting on my cycle day 1 to start my 2nd round. I was very disappointed that it didn't work the first time, but I am still very hopeful. I read all the other ladies comments and feel that you all are very strong (super women). I have not told anyone what I am doing, so I am going through this by myself. Does anyone have any words of encouragement?

    I can't necessarily give encouragement, but I can certainly sympathize with you. I am also 35 with no fertility problems. My RE said that I should have no problems, and encouraged me to try the first few times without injectables. I knew that pregnancy on the first go was a long shot, but it was still hard when it didn't take last month. I just picked up my little swimmers for round two, and should hopefully go in next Wednesday or Thursday.

    Like you, I was very sad when the first one didn't take, but I think we are in a good place, as my doc said that 35 is still pretty young. He said that it becomes more of a concern after several tries. What helped me keep my spirits up was my support network. Is there anyone you can tell? Even one person makes a difference.

    If not, the women on this board are here for you as well. I have felt very supported in any question I have put out here. I will send all sorts of baby dust your way!

    Hello I am 30 with no fertility problems and my first iui didn't work....le sigh. I knew the chances were slim but my doctor said it shouldn't be a problem. We are gearing up for round 2 but trying to stay " stress free" which is impossible! This process is super hard...but I am staying positive!

    I just had my 2nd IUI this morning. I am also 35 with no know problems. I am hoping for the best. Hang in there and baby dust to you all!

    Joining the 35 club. My first IUI is going to be first week of October. I wish someone in this thread was chiming in to say try #1 worked for her. :( Now I'm just all ready to join you all in the "first try didn't work" club. If my first iUI fails, I KNOW I'm going to be annoyed with my doc. I'm willing to do the shots. I'm willing to pay the money. Why am I being forced to try IUI for a few months with its low odds.

    I was 39 when I did my first IUI. My OB and RE both told me that it wouldn't work because of my age and ovarian supply but I had no known fertility issues. They suggested IVF but I wanted to try unmedicated IUI three times before moving to medicated or IVF. I had my plan and I'm glad they let me do it it my way. It was mainly for the price. IUI was about $1000 per try. I thought, if I can get pregnant that way I'll have more money to raise my child. I was prepared for it to not work since that's what they told me. Well, it worked on the first try! Everyone was shocked. It took a few weeks for me to even believe it was real! Maybe it was good luck, good timing, good swimmers, the progesterone suppositories, who the heck knows, there is so much involved. My son was born on July 2nd and he is 10 weeks old. KEEP TRYING because he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
