My partner and I had previously been using a local bank, but recently came across the CCB and are thrilled with all the info and support! (These message boards are addicting, yet so helpful when you're going through the mayhem of TTC).

We've had two unsuccessful attempts (1 ICI and 1 IUI), but are ready to forge ahead...
We FINALLY narrowed down our search and are planning to inseminate with #12119 next month. Anyone have info on this donor???

Also, my RE wasn't too keen on inseminating the same month as my HSG (last Thursday) but seems like others have gotten preggers the same month. Thoughts/advice??

    I don't have any info on that donor but I just wanted to wish you good luck with your next iui!! I myself will be trying my very first iui in April I'm dying to do it in March but since I'm new to it all I'm still doing research on the timing of everything =). Best of luck to you

    Oh good for you, Rena! I have found that research = power! Ha! I have to really watch myself though or I can seriously sit at the computer researching for hours!
    So do you have an OB? Have you had your initial exams and labs done? Just curious.
    It's been quite an adventure already, but it's nice to know there are other people out there going through it too.

    Please keep me posted on your April iui. I'll be sending you lots of happy, fertile thoughts! ;)

    Hey.. yeah I've gotten most of my exams done I have two more I need to do but I'll probably just get them done at my RE because they results take for ever to get at my OB and after I get those two exams I'm ready to go!! I'm excited! What's the office name of your Re if you don't mind me asking? Did u have all you exams and labs done with your Re or your OB? I Know the Re's are and can be pricy that's why I went the OB route. Hey I wanted to ask the local bank they you guys used first are they more expensive then CCB? I had no idea there were other banks out there!! I'm wishing you tons of baby dust your way hope it works for you guys this time around third times a charm=)

    Well, my doctor isn't actually a certified RE, just an OB at the Fertility Clinic. We have to do everything through Kaiser because it's way too expensive otherwise. I've been going through the Kaiser Fertility Clinic at Point Loma. The OB's name is Dr. Yoo. Not my first choice, but if we do our IUI's there, it's covered. I did all my labs, sonograms, an ultrasound and an HSG through them.

    When we first started TTC, we met with the director of the sperm bank at the Fertility Center of CA. His name is Joe Richard and he was really cool. The upside is that the sperm is cheaper, the downside is that each iui is $300.

    I live in the San Bernardino area a couple hours away from SD oh wow I didn't know Kaiser covered all that. So who does your iuis then if ur Dr is just an OB? The fertility doctor u went to is probably cheaper then mine where I go each iui is $250 but the sperm is like $585 so I'm still going to be paying around almost $900... what's the ultra sound for? And hsg? I'm still new to all these terms? Thanks for your help And talking with me I do appreciate it!!

    My OB does the IUIs in the Kaiser clinic.
    He also does a routine sonogram for every patient seeking fertility help. When they did that, they found a 4cm simple cyst on my left ovary so I couldn't start any kind of medication. (Clomid, injectables, etc...) So, he ordered a more extensive ultrasound at the hospital so that we could get a better idea of how to deal with the cyst.
    The HSG is an ink test (again, protocol for fertility treatment) to check your uterus and fallopian tubes. They use a catheter to shoot ink in and watch it on the monitor to make sure your tubes aren't blocked (not a very pleasant test, I assure you!)
    We have a follow-up appointment Thursday to go over everything and hopefully make a plan for next month's IUI.
    I'm happy to answer any questions you have. It's such a crazy train!!!

    Ohh Okay when I went for my consultation a few years ago the nurse said since I'm so young we should try my first iui without any meds and didn't think I would need an ultra sound Cause I felt that I'm very healthy so that's why I haven't done those do u recommended them? Apart of me feels that there maybe something wrong with me but my its just all in my head. How old are u if you don't mind me asking? I hope your doctors appointment goes well so u can do ur next iui next month let Me know how that goes!!! =)

    Yeah, you're probably in a completely different boat than me! I never wanted to have my own kids--I'm a teacher and I have 3 lovely nephews--that's always been enough for me. Then, I turned 39 this summer and something changed and I got the baby bug! My partner freaked a little at first, but she's totally stoked now. She's 31.

    Being so young, you probably don't need to worry about a thing. I'm sure you're perfectly fertile and won't have any problems. :) Don't let your mind play tricks on you. This whole process can make everyone a bit crazy.

    Good luck--I'll be anxious to hear about your first IUI!!!

    Haha sorry I realized you already chose your donor did u get the baby pic from ur donor or does he not have one?
