Miscarriage with 11884

Hi Everyone,

I just had a miscarriage last week at 10 1/2 weeks. I am completely heartbroken but looking forward to healing and trying again.

We were using donor #11884. He is retired now but I am wondering if anyone else has used this donor with success.

I am sure it's not likely an issue with the donor but I had read in another blog that donor 11884 had produced multiple pregnancies but few births.

I'm trying to explore if there is a pattern. I really feel strongly that we have picked the right donor for us, but I am fearful of going through this again.

    Erin I am so sorry for your loss! I have not used your donor, but I too miscarried and was fearful to move forward using the same donor we had chosen. We did end up using our donor 4 more times after our miscarriage with no success. Just today we purchased a different donor and will try again (this is my second cycle using clomid although I am medically fine). Keep your head up moving forward and best of luck to you and your partner!

    Hi Erin,

    I am so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I have had two miscarriages this year using donor 11884 - one at 12 weeks and the other at 8 weeks. I was completely heartbroken too! My first loss was a missed miscarriage. My RE had me switch donors with the IUI I had yesterday.

    Hi Erin,
    I'm so sorry for your loss. We had a miscarriage with 11782 and tried again another 4 times with no success (only a chemical). We just switched donors and are hoping for a better outcome this next round. Don't know if it will make a difference, but it feels like the right thing to do.

    Hi, Has anyone had full term pregnancy and birth with 11884?

    I've been using 11884 (3 iuis, 1ivf) with no success and it hadn't really crossed my mind that it might be the donor -- just assumed it was me!

    Doctor said it wouldn't hurt to try another donor, which I wasn't really considering until I found all of your posts

    I have 3 vials left and was just planning on using but now maybe I will change?

    Hi,

    I have used donor 11884 and I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I only used him once. I hope this is useful information.

    Debbie,

    Did you report your miscarriage with the Cryobank? I would encourage you to do so. As of today when I call they only have 4 reported miscarriages. I know of 6 miscarriages based on the emails I have received from other women. I appreciate your response. I wish you well and pray for good luck for all of us the next time around.
