First IUI Complete With 13500

Had my first IUI with donor 13500 on Friday. I am in my early 30's and no found fertility problems so I am hoping beyond hope that this IUI will be successful, but I know the average range is 3-6 cycles.
The one thing that frustrated me a bit was that the office did not tell me the count or motility of the sample, which I would really like to know if I need to pursue more cycles as it could influence my donor choice.

  • Good Luck! Did your doctors office have you sign something confirming the donor prior to your IUI? That's how I noticed the sperm count and motility. They had me sign it minutes before the procedure with the sample right there. I got my BFP on my second IUI! So far I'm about 4-5 weeks :) first ultrasound scheduled for next week :) sending baby dust your way!
  • Thank you! Congrats on your BFP!! Wishing you all the best with your ultrasound!
I didn't sign anything the day of the IUI. The Dr came in and showed me the sample to confirm but I didn't have to sign off. I signed my life away at previous visits though! :)
  • I always ask at the time they bring in the vial. I like to know the count and motility. Anything less than ten million you get a refund.
  • I asked but she said they didn't analyze the count, they just make sure it's a good sample, and that it looked "great". I was very surprised, but being my first time going through it thought maybe not all Drs double check that? I had so much going through my mind and thought pressing the issue wouldn't make a difference if they really don't check. I would like to know though because if I don't have success with this donor I would like to know if it is related to count so that I can switch.
  • I also had to sign that it was the correct bail and they told me the count and I initialed next to it. I would ask next time!
And ... Glad to hear someone had a positive on the second try. My second IUI was today!
  • I meant vial not bail. (Autocorrect)
