ICI

Hi. My top two donor choices (11660 and 11884) do not have ICI availability. Do you anticipate realease of this sample type anytime soon? My doctor strongly prefers if possible. I have a third option on a donor, but don't feel as strong about him as the other two.
Thanks.

  • Hi Patter -

11660 and 11884 are both retired from donating and sold out of ICI vials.

Our IUI vials are created using Density Gradient Processing which is generally considered superior to other methods:

Some physicians prefer to do the wash themselves because other banks use lesser methods. Make sure your doctor knows that is not the case. You should also consider that an IUI vial is washed prior to freezing. Washing an ICI vial post-thaw causes many of the "good" sperm to be lost in the process.

Also note that although IUI vials are more expensive due to the extra processing, most physicians charge a lab fee to do the wash themselves that exceeds the cost difference between ICI and IUI.
