ICI and IUI for #12256

My partner and I are new members and just spent the last 4 hours searching for a donor and reading through various forums. Our first choice is donor #12256, but we noticed he doesn't have any ICI Vials available. Will any ICI sperm be available soon? We are considering doing ICI at home then if we aren't successful, we will do IUI. How does that work when purchasing vialls for future use for IUI, as well as for a 2nd child? Do we purchase both ICI and IUI sperm to store?

Do you sell the Conceptions Kits and/or Ovulation kits?

Do you know how many children this donor has produced?

We've received your packet and read through your website, but we'd like to schedule an appointment to meet with a representative on a Saturday. Can I schedule it?

Thank you very much for your help!

  • Hi Vivian -

Welcome to our "family". Please see answers to your questions below.

Good news... We do have ICI vials for Donor 12256 in quarantine. His next release is scheduled for mid March. I would recommend contacting our Client Services Team (866-927-9622) to be added to the notification list. We will let you know just prior to the release so that you can secure your ICI vials before they sell out. Because we collect limited vials and donors often sell out, we recommend purchasing extra vials and storing them for future pregnancies while they are available. We offer 3 years of free storage through our Family Tomorrow program for clients interested in multiple children.

We do not sell ovulation or concepption kits.

We have less than 5 pregnancies reported for this donor so far, but he has only been available for about 8 months.

You can schedule a paid in-house consultation by contacting La'Trice at lallen@cryobank.com or 310-443-5244 x1140. Our Client Services Representatives are also available at 866-927-9622 to answer any questions you may have about our donors or services free of charge.

    Good luck,

    Scott

  • Thank you so much for your reply!

    I will call today :)
  • I just realized that 12256 is CMV positive. Do you know how that will effect the mother and baby? I wlll also do some research.

Will you have ICI Vials available for #11714?

By the way, what does RE stand for? I see so many women referring to it.

Thank you again for your help!
  • Good questions. Here you go:

Q: I just realized that 12256 is CMV positive. Do you know how that will effect the mother and baby?
A: CMV+ has no impact on the mother or baby. It simply means the donor was exposed to the CMV virus at some point and now carries the antibodies (similar to someone who once had chicken pox). An applicant or donor that tested positive for an actual active CMV infection would be disqualified. In over 30 years, we have never had a report of a antibody CMV+ donor transmitting the virus to a mother or child. For the record, it is estimated that over half the US adult population is CMV+.

Q: Willl you have ICI Vials available for #11714?
A: No. He is retired from donating and is sold out of ICI vials.

Q: What does RE stand for?
    A: Reproductive Endocrinologist (reproductive specialist)

    Good luck,

    Scott

  • Thank you so very much Scott! It really help us narrow things down. Boy - this is difficult, but fun at the same time :)

Do you have any ICI Vials available for #11260?
Does he have multiple photos available?

Thank you and have a great weekend!
  • Hi V -

11260 is sold out of all vials. Don't worry, when you find the right one you will never remember all the "almosts".

    Sorry,
