Donor 14289 IUI

Planning to try IUI with this donor by the end of this month. Is there anyone who could share an experience?
We know for sure there is a pregnancy (or a few?) from this donor and will be VERY appreciate for more information.

Good luck to everyone who's hoping and trying!

  • hello from Australia :)
i am also planning on trying iui with this donor at the end of next month, good luck to you too!
  • Hi, Meg,

It's so nice to hear from you and, wow, we're so far away from each other!
I got my negative today after tough two weeks of waiting. But I'll try again this month and will keep you updated.

We wish you the best of luck in your first try!
  • Im sorry to hear your first try wasnt successful, do you know what his sperm count was? If everything works out for both of us we could have half siblings born around the same time :) i would love to keep in contact if that is the case!
Best wishes for you for this cycle, i look forward to hearing how you go :) i will keep you updated on how i go :)
  • It sounds to me like you've already tried, how did it go in the end of last month? Totally understand if you don't want to share such an information at the moment, knowing how exhausted I was after my two weeks.

I didn't have a chance to check a sperm count since I've done my IUI at home, but I would love to hear from you (or the others) about that too.

And, of course, we shall to keep in contact if everything will work! That will be so exciting for our kids to have a sibling a half-world away!
  • Oh, right, you're gonna only try THIS month for the first time! It's just seems that it's been ages since it all started to me.
    All the best to you!
  • yep this will be my first time :) my cycle has been a bit funny but im now expecting my cycle to start around June first, so iui will be around the middle of June, In Australia you have to do it at the fertility centre, i live in Queensland and its illegal to import sperm here so i have imported it into Canberra and will Travel there to do IUI:) ive only purchased 2 vials so im really hoping that will be enough, im 24 and all my fertility testing has come back really great so first cycle im only using the trigger shot, if that doesnt work then the second cycle im going to do a low dose of fertility drugs and then the trigger shot, if it does work ill purchase a few more vials to keep for future siblings :) I will let you know when i find out what the sperm count it :), how many times have you tried? im sorry that its taking ages! are you using fertility drugs?
  • O.m.g. it all sounds so complicated! Especially for such a young woman like you it's so unfair to go through all this to just simply get pregnant! Do you guys have sperm banks in Australia? If yes, why did you choose the one in US? I mean, it's awesome that we got a chance to meet, but isn't it cheaper to buy from the local bank?
I'm 28 and I'm not using any drugs, except for progesterone, which is just making my luteal phase longer. My doctor doesn't think I need anything else, I hope she's right.
I've tried twice so far, the first one didn't work, even though it was a perfect timing, but maybe I should've use two vials at once back then. My second try was only a week ago, so it's too early to test yet. Even if it's not gonna work, I still have 2 more vials left. I wish I could save them, though.
  • Upd: Second try is officially failed. Next one will be in a middle of June.
  • Im sorry :( you must be so disappointed, im still waiting for my cycle to start, it was suppose to start at the begining of June but i think all the excitement has made it late! Theres not many Sperm Donors in Australia as its illegal for the donor to be paid to donate and the quality of sperm isnt the same as it in in other countries. They only use local sperm for IVF as they can make a few babies from each ejaculate lol how are you calculating the timing? On day 8 of my cycle im going to get an ultrasound so that they can see how the follicles are growing and it helps them figure out when i should do the trigger shot, after the ultrasound they do a blood test daily and then the trigger shot exactly 36 hours later they do another ultra sound to double check ovulation has/is about to occur and then they do iui. Im really hoping all the close monitoring will pay off:) i cant wait i wish cycle day one would hurry up! lol
  • I am still waiting for my cycle to start, ive gotten a blood test today to see if they can find out why it hasnt started yet, just waiting on the results... I was really confident about trying IUI naturally before trying with fertility medication but now im not so sure. I want to give myself the best chance of conceiving for both my trys, I am hoping its not to late for the fertility specialist to prescribe me with a low dose of fertility medication for this cycle, if he cant then i think i might wait untill next cycle to do IUI. Best Wishes for you for this cycle ooo
  • Oh, it seems like you're very late this month! But I'm sure it's because you're too nervous. My doctor recommended me acupuncture, it helps to relax and it can actually make your cycle get started, you should definitely check that out.

I calculate my timing based on BBT, OPK, previous months data, ultrasound, blood work and cervix check up. I'm very consistently ovulating in certain time after my first positive OPK, so it's not a problem for me to literally "feel" when I'm going to be ovulate. I wish it would just work this time, lol, will see in two weeks!

Keep me updated, I know it's hard, but try to relax, eat some good food and share your time with your loved ones:)
  • Acupuncture doesnt sound very relaxing haha but maybe i could use an excuse to get a relaxing massage :D , My cycle ended up starting super late, ive kind of lost confidence in doing a natural cycle so the fertility specialist has said to do a tracking cycle this month (with blood tests) and then next month im going to use a low dose of fertility meds. Im nervous to use a vial since i only have 2, I want the best possible chance. Thats really good that you know exactly when you ovulate :) fingers and toes crossed for you for this month!
  • And a third try failed as well. I've got one more vial left, so I'll try one more time in July. If it's not going to work, I'll have to switch the donor:(
  • Im sorry to hear that, How heart breaking for you :( My cycle started today, Im feeling really hopeful for both of us this month!, im doing a medicated cycle and start injectibles tomorrow, im hoping to grow 2 follicles with the meds to give myself the best chance, If i grow more than 2 mature ones ill have to cancel the cycle as theres a risk of all of them fertilizing which would be unsafe for the babies. If all goes well i will be doing IUI in around 14 days, Im interested to find out what his sperm count is and will be sure to let you know, Im excited and really nervous, im a bit apprehensive about injecting myself with fertility medication and the iui itself as im not really sure what to expect, plus the disappointment if it doesnt work. This next month is going to be a roller coaster of emotions.Im kind of scared, i really hope i have made the right decision, Im sure i have, so much love, thought and planning has gone into this but i can help but second guess myself:)
  • Just a quick update :) i did my first Gonal F injection today, im on the lowest dose (37.5) and it was easy! phew!
  • update- Today is day 10 of my cycle, I had an ultrasound this morning to check follicles and i have three! there 16mm, 12mm and 11mm, There is a chance that all 3 will be mature by iui time :/ ive been thinking alot and will probs take the risk, i am flying to Canberra tomorrow and then have another ultrasound friday morning (day 12) to check how they are going and will probs do the iui on Saturday. hope all is going well with you ooo
  • So glad to hear you started the process! Very excited for you! Don't worry, you're doing everything right, trying to achive the best of chances.
For me this month is a last IUI with this donor, so, as I said, if it's not gonna work, I'll try someone else. But I'm still hoping, will do my first pregnancy test on Monday and let you know.
Wish you to stay calm and be patient, you're in a perfect age and shape, everything gonna be alright!
Keep me posted and have a safe trip!
  • I did an ultrasound yesterday and one of the follicles had disappeared, one hadnt grown and the other was 20mm which is such a relief :) i did the trigger shot yesterday at 2pm (i was starting to serge on my own) and then did iui this morning at 11am! :) His total count was 16.5 million per ml, live count was 12 million per ml, 75% progressive, 25% non progressive :) The fertility centre said there really great numbers now to wait 2 weeks :) I hope all is going well with you! I really hope this is your month!, but if its not i would still love to be updated on how your going with your new donor :) i like our chats
  • My first iui was unsuccessful :( its so disappointing, im going to have a break for 3 months to save some more money and try again in November
  • Hi, Meg!

So sorry to hear it didn't work for you! I was really hoping you were succesfull and could make it up for my four fails.
How do you feel? Were you two weeks really stressful? What type of test did you do? Did you do bloodwork just to make sure?

I'm taking a month break too, I've done a few infertility tests (all negative, I'm perfectly healthy) and will be going for an acupuncture for a few weeks, since my doctor recommends that.

I'm searching for a different donor, but can't find anyone whom we would like as much as this one so far.

We shall definitely stay in touch! I'll let you know as soon as I find a new donor and will keep you posted!
