  • Hi Laura -

Donor 5749 has more than 5 reported pregnancies and less than 5 reported births -- split evenly between the sexes.

    Good luck!

  • I just happened to find this post. Laura I was curious if you ended up using 5749 and what the outcome was?

We are currently going in for our first IUI with this donor.

    Thank you.
  • Hi there,

I too am using this donor...had my first IUI this week; had back to back inseminations. The sperm counts the two vials used were 30 million & 20 million. Now it's time to wait...

How did you both make out?

    Good luck to you!

    Thanks
  • Hi there,
We are choosing between two donors and 5749 is one of them..I was wondering how everyone made out with this donor...Thank you in advance..

Our IUI was moved back to Feb due to a polyp they found in my partners uterus at the last minute...which was good because a polyp prevents pregnancy...shoo dodged one there. Let me know how yours went, we are debating on B2B IUI's or just one, our Doc says its our decision, we have two vials at the Doctor's so we'll have to decide.
  • Hi Mash -

Sorry for your troubles, but it sounds like it is all for the best in the long run. You are a great example of why women planning an at-home insemination really need to consult a physician prior to getting started. No matter how young, healthy, etc. you feel, there are many things that could be preventing a pregnancy that you would never discover on your own. Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. You may have saved someone out there a lot of time, money, and stress.

As for using two vials... Your chances of success have more to do with timing than anything. If you are planning an IUI timed via ultrasound, you probably aren't increasing your chances and are better off saving your vial for a future attempt (hopefully not necessary!). Some physicians still suggest the "double-shot" approach since it certainly can't hurt. We never recommend using two vials per try, but we have many clients who do it and are successful -- and many more that stay with a single vial and are successful.

    Good luck either way,

  • Hello,

Results of first IUI (2 vials) = negative. I guess I'll try again next cycle.

    Good luck to everyone!
  • Hi pad -

Sorry to hear your news. Keep positive. The average is about 4 cycles per successful pregnancy, so you are completely in the norm. Unfortunately, very few are lucky enough to get pregnant on the first try.

The good news is that once you are successful, you will actually be thankful that it didn't happen sooner because you won't be able to imagine not having that exact little person in your life.

    Best of luck,

    Scott
