ICI/ART vs. IUI/ART

I need ART, but found one donor has both ICI/ART and IUI/ART. What is the different between the two and which one can I use?

Thank you

  • One more question, can I use ICI and/or IUI for ART?

It seems that I have limited choice since there are not that many ART vials available.
  • Hi Yui -

You can use ANY vial type for ART. You are not limited to the donors with ART vials available.

The actual ART vials are less expensive because they contain less sperm than vials used for insemination.

ICI/ART means your physician will need to wash the specimen prior to the procedure. IUI/ART means he/she does not need to do the wash because we did prior to freezing.

    Good luck,
