  • Hi Olearye,

I am planning on trying this donor in the next month or so. Did you decide to try this donor?
  • hi, yes i bought a few of his vials, i actually just did my first iui 8 days ago but who is counting really, just kidding. I am in the 2ww period, soooooo difficult.

He is one that i felt strongly about from the beginning and kept going back to. Did you buy the full access subscription?

let me know if you decide on 13041 it would be great to chat :)
  • That is SO exciting! I hope it worked. I imagine you will soon be finding out.

I had my first IUI in November. I had used a donor from Fairfax Cryobank and it was successful. It ended in a chemical pregnancy though and now I need to start over. My doctor wasn't happy with the specimen from Fairfax and suggested picking a new donor from California so here I am. I agree that the 2ww was the LONGEST 2 weeks ever.

I am hoping to try IUI #2 in January but my doctor wants to do an HSG to check my tubes before my next IUI. If the timing works out I will be able to do both this cycle, but I won't know until the first day of my period. I'm praying the timing works out.

I bought this donor today! So now I'm just waiting for my period. I never would have thought I'd find the day that I'd be anxious for my period to arrive. I did not buy the full access. I only bought pictures.

I hope you are surviving your 2ww and I'm anxious to hear how you made out.

  • hi!!!!

so i have taken 3 home pregnancy tests and i am BFP!!!!!!!!
I tested 11 days after my IUI (Christmas Day), I went for a blood draw today but no results yet so still nervous but beyond excited.

I had a HSG a few months back before i attempted IUI but it would be great if you could do it all in once cycle.

Are you with a partner or husband, etc or doing this on your own? I just turned 34 and doing this on my own.

so excited for you, let me know, would love to stay in contact. I am sorry to hear about your previous pregnancy.
  • becky, are you in california?
  • That is SO exciting!!! I'm sure if you got 3 positive tests you have nothing to worry about. I understand wanting the reassurance from the blood test though. I'm so excited for you!!

I am from PA. I am 34 and doing this on my own also. I have a 7 year old daughter from a failed marriage but I always wanted more kids. I hoped I'd find someone else but it never happened so I decided not to wait any longer. My daughter doesn't know what I'm doing and won't know until I'm 12 weeks pregnant but will be very excited. I can't wait to get pregnant and tell her.

Again...I'm so excited for you. You can't beat getting pregnant on the first try!!!
  • I was wondering if you were from Cali cause
You mentioned fairfax which is near sf.

I was so excited, happy and surprised by BFP on my first try. I have never been pregnant before so I am very lucky. I always thought I was going to be married and have kids by now and it just never worked out that way. I got out of a 2.5 year relationship in January and that was my final straw as far as waiting. Oddly enough I had always thought of doing it on my own if need be. 34 must be the lucky age!

I have two neices that I am extremely close with and spend almost everyday with. I am so excited to tell them but I am going to wait awhile cause they are still young.

I am so happy for you and I hope you get BFP too. Keep me updated :)
  • It's crazy how similar our stories sound. I was also in a relationship for about 2 1/2 years that ended in October 2011. Unfortunately it was a "made for TV" story. I was actually married for a couple of months until it ended quite suddenly and I filed for an annulment (which my local courthouse had never seen before!). I had been pregnant with his child and it also ended in a miscarriage the same week the relationship ended.

I too had always had in the back of my head going through AI if I didn't find anyone. This last relationship was enough to make the thought a reality. I wasn't getting into another relationship anytime soon and I'm ready for another child now! I didn't want the stress of feeling like I needed to find a man or rush any relationship I would be in just to have a child. So AI was perfect for me.

I decided to go with Fairfax Cryobank (which is actually in Fairfax, VA) for several reasons. Fairfax compares pretty closely with California and my doctor recommended either one. For one, Fairfax is a lot cheaper and has sales often. Secondly, Fairfax offered adult pictures of the donor which I thought was a neat bonus. So that is who I used for my first IUI.

I got pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago on the first try. I had also got pregnant with my last relationship on the second try. So I really thought I'd just go to the doctors and leave pregnant. Little did i know it would be a little more complicated than that. It ends up that the reason I had my first miscarriage was because my eggs weren't maturing enough. I tried a cycle of Clomid which I totally overstimulated on. Then I had to wait months until the cysts went away from the overstim. I also had some other crazy things going on in between all that. So much for walking in one day and out the next pregnant.

So finally...8 months later... in November I had my 1st IUI with the use of injectables and trigger shot. I had 2 good follicles and the timing was perfect but my doctor wasn't happy with the quality of the specimen. Apparently there were 10 million sperm with only 35% motility which means only 3.5 million swimmers. It obviously only takes one because I did get pregnant, but ended as a chemical pregnancy.

My doctor's office wasn't happy with several other specimens from Fairfax that same month so they recommended finding someone from California. That's what brought me here. I'm so excited to get started. Especially after hearing your story, Olearye!!!

Do you know what the sperm count and motility was for your IUI???

I'm pretty sure with how easily I get pregnant and once I have a good sperm count there is a really good chance of twins. I am trying to prepare my mom for twins. If I can get pregnant with one baby on really low count, I can't imagine what will happen with a good count!!

Come on period...let's get this cycle started!!!

Happy New Year everyone! I have a feeling it's going to be a great year for all of us!!!!!
  • when will you do iui this month? i go for my first u/s jan. 17 i can't wait. I did do two quant hcg which turned out good so yes i guess you can say i am officially BFP!!!!! it is still so surreal, i am so excited. I was exactly the same way as far as waiting for my period because i knew it would only be that much closer until i could try. I wanted to start so many months before i actually did but this donor had run out of vials and i really wanted to use him, as well as all these life things that happened.

i believe that my vial count was 73 mil per ml and 62% motility.

oh and let me know if you want to communicate outside these boards through email or whatever
  • I am HOPING to do my IUI this month. It's still up in the air. I still need to pray for perfect timing so I can have my HSG done on the morning of day 5 so I can start my meds on the evening of day 5. So I am still awaiting the arrival of my period. I am slightly crampy today so I'm thinking Thursday or Friday...at least I'm hoping. IF my period comes by Friday and IF I can have my HSG done on day 5 THEN I am thinking it will be the same time you are having your u/s done. That would put me right around January 17 to have the IUI.

I'm so happy for you! I know I'd be happy to get 2 good quant hcg's but nothing beats hearing/seeing the heartbeat. I'm sure the 17th can't get here fast enough for you. How are you feeling? I never really had any symptoms with my daughter 8 years ago other than sore boobs. I hope you are feeling good. I know at this point I wouldn't care how I'd feel. I'd be sick everyday if it means a healthy baby in there, but if I can have a healthy baby and no morning sickness that would be great.

    Talk to you soon...
  • Hi ladies -- Olearye, Congrats on your BFP!! I just wanted to let you know that I used 13041 for an iui last summer and his numbers impressed my RE. ;)
    I had count: 172 mill/ml, 64% motile, 55 mill total motile.
Im now on IVF and using a different donor but I wish yall the best. :) LOTS of baby dust to you Becky.

    Jenny
  • jenny:

Did you get BFP with 13041 and miscarry or did it not take?

    Good luck with your IVF!!!
  • Wow Jenny those are amazing numbers! That is great to hear since I didn't have a good vial my first try. My 1st vial (from a different cyrobank) was only 10 mil with 35% motility, 3.5 mil total motile. My doctor was NOT happy with this and suggested I switch cryobanks. I know Olearye had good numbers with hers and now to hear those numbers makes me very excited! Hopefully next week I'll be having my 2nd IUI.

Good luck to you too Jenny and thanks for sharing!!!!
  • My IUIs didnt take (4 failed). Wasnt because of the donors I received from here tho. All had fantastic numbers. the nurse would always make a comment like he was super man or something.
Hoping the IVF works. My suppression check is tomorrow and IVF should be the week of the 21st.
Best of luck on your pregnancy olearye and tons of baby dust to you becky! :)
