had first iui with 12179

I had my first iui on March 12th and am getting very anxious waiting these last few days. actually, i'm obsessed, lol. if i don't get my period by wednesday, then i go for a pregnancy test. my partner doesn't want me to take a hp test because of the possibility of a false positive due to the hcg shot i took before the iui.
i know it can take more than one try, but i am loosing my mind already! how do you all get through the waiting period?! would love to other folks experiences :)
