Timing of Sperm Order & Ovulation

We are hoping to start our IUI's in April and are very excited. This may seem like a silly question but how do you time your 2-day sperm order so that it coincides with the IUI procedure. For example, do they know when you are going to ovulate far enough in advance to order the sperm on time? Has anyone ever ordered sperm and then had an IUI cancelled because there are too many follicles and wasted the sperm?
Just trying to figure out logistics in advance... any insights on how the timing works would be so very much appreciated.

Well it depends. If you are doing it at the doc, you can order it a week before you ovulate. Ex: You call cbb today and have them send it to doc office tomorrow for the following day. If it has to go out the same day you call, it's more money. The 2 days it's $185. The doc office are equipped with storage. Know if you are doing it at home, I suggest to calculate when you ovulate. Let's say you started you period on the 1st and you ovulate on the 14th. On day 7 call CBB and tell them you need to have your vials delivered by the 13 or 14th. You will want to have it overnight it. $225. If day 14 lands on a sun you want it delivered on Friday. If day 14 lands on Monday you want vials to ship fri for mon delivery. Remember the vials have to be used 7 days from the time it's shipped. Home deliveries are made before 10am and someone has to be there to sign for the shipment. when u do it at home, i suggest to do 2 vials. You do the first vial within 24 hr from your :) positive surge. And the second vial the following day about 24hr after. Your egg is released within 24 to 48hr after :). You want to do Ici for both days..as the sperm has a shorter life span as fresh sperm. It lives about 12 to 24hr instead of 3 to 4 days. Time is key. Best of luck!
