Ultrasound before IUI?

I was curious if any of you have had an ultrasound after your trigger shot and right before your IUI to see if you've ovulated. I'm having my 2nd IUI this month and was thinking I would ask them to do an ultrasound before the IUI to confirm that I haven't ovulated.

I would always go in on one day, have a scan to check for follicles, and get the trigger shot. The next day, I would return and have a scan to see if I had ovulated or not and to do the IUI. However, it really made no difference at that point. The sperm was already thawed and could not be frozen again. Plus, the egg will survive for a few hours anyway, so even if the egg was already released, you can still have a successful IUI. So, I am not sure when you are wanting to request a scan, but I found the scan the day before with the shot was actually the more informative. No matter what we found on the day of the IUI, we were going to use the sperm anyway or waste it.

Thanks for the info austingurl. They do the IUI's 36 hrs after the trigger shot so I think I'll have them do an ultrasound the day after the trigger. They won't wash the sperm until the day of the procedure.
