    That's just strange because many other places have them. Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about that. If all else equal I may choose someone from another bank with adult photos available.

    They just try to get the largest selection of donors and in order for them to remain anonymous they don't do the adult pics. I believe xytex does adult photos if that is something that is important to you. good luck.

    but xytex also doesn't limit the number of families who uses each donor and i have a friend who now has over 75 half siblings with her donor so i was disappointed i couldn't have an adult photo but i choose the bank my doc recommended...just depends on what is most important to you.

    Yes, we were one of the first banks to put vial limits on our donors years and years ago. Other banks seem to be still catching up to the concept.

    In terms of the adult photos, we believe it is crucial to protect the privacy of our donors in order to recruit the absolute best candidates for our clients to choose from. The majority of our donors are high-achieving young men from Harvard, MIT, Stanford, UCLA, and NYU. They have extremely bright futures ahead of them and deserve the ability to decide how and when they are ready to discuss being a donor with the world. Once an adult photo is available, the power of the internet makes anonymity virtually impossible.

    Maintaining the quality of donor that CCB is known for requires respecting their future privacy. We do not want to disrupt the lives of our donors or their families.

    We offer Childhood Photos, Facial Feature Profiles, Look-a-Likes, Staff Impressions, Photo Matching, and Client Service Representatives to help understand what the donors look like. I totally understand your curiosity, but also consider the depth of information we provide that other banks do not. Look through the Express Yourself of your favorite donors. Listen to their Donor Conversations. Read the Up Close and Perosnals and Staff Impressions. I believe you will get a much more complete view of our donors than any picture could ever provide.

    Lastly, Google reviews on all the banks you are considering and see what other people have experienced.

    Sorry if I sound defensive or preachy. I believe very strongly in providing the best experience possible for our clients and can't help but get a little worked up sometimes. I really do believe CCB is the best at what we do. However, Jala is 100% correct -- this is a very personal decision and you should go with whatever (fully accredited, licensed, and certified) bank and whatever donor you feel most comfortable with. The good news is, once your baby is in your arms, you'll know that every choice you made up to that point was the absolute right one!

    My doctor's office recommended xytex but I'm not impressed with their donors so I'm not going to use them. I agree that CCB has some excellent candidates and I am looking at all of the available information. I'm also looking at donors on Fairfax...their donors also seem top notch. Haven't seen any adult photos but many have them available for an extra fee and I just thought that would be a good thing to have to give my child. It's not a must have but it is definately a plus. I understand protecting privacy and it is just something I will have to accept if my right donor is at CCB but I haven't found the right one just yet...still searching....and researching. Thanks again!

    Scott - believe me I look at all the jobs all the time. I have actually contemplated going back to school just to work for you. CCB has changed our lives and I admit I too have become defensive and recommend you to all of our friends who are starting this process. Thank you for all you do.
