The initial donor qualification process includes performing repeated semen analyses and freeze-thaw analyses to confirm that the potential donor consistently produces a high quality specimen. Motility, count and forward progression are all considered in this analysis. These variables are assessed on every subsequent semen donation, and the results are used to determine the number of vials that can be produced from each specimen.

Please note that due to our stringent screening process, we accept less than 1% of applicants into our donor program.

Our vial standards are based on total motile sperm concentration (motility x count). A washed IUI vial will contain at least 10 million motile sperm per vial (0.5 mL). An ICI vial will contain at least 15 million motile sperm per vial (1.0 mL).
