Donor 11942 - Low Motile Count

We just had our first IUI yesterday from Donor #11942 and we only had 7.9 million motile sperm. Which if you have read CA Cryobank's guarantee, you will notice it is way under their guarntee of 10 million motile sperm. However, according to their site they won't refund you because it's within their 30% error allowance. Pretty crappy. Beware!!!

    We had two vials that were under 10 million. I believer the first was 8.6 and the second was 6.something. They refunded both. Just call them on the phone and explain the situation and keep talking to different people until you get the response you want. You will have to get the paperwork from the lab that counted the sperm and have them fill out some forms CCB needs. Good luck.

    Thank you ktm2121 - it makes me feel better that you've had luck getting refunds from them. Have you had any good vials from them or was that the only 2 you received?

    We have had 8-10 vials all well below the guarantee and gotten refunds for all of them (but of course as you know that doesn't help with all the other costs of each cycle). We had one as low as 2.3 mil but most were around 5 mil. Very frustrating. I'd call Melonee Evans as she is the boss of all the customer service folks. She's the one who can approve your refund.

    After the first 2 low count vials, we changed donors. Within 2 iui's, I got a bfp. I am now 12 weeks, 6 days pregnant. Changing donors was probably the best decision we made. Both of the vials from our second donor had very good numbers. I know they say they screen all the donors, but I think it was just the donor. And just like Carose said, Melonee is the one to speak to. They did not refund all of the "Fees" and the extra costs that we had to have, but they did refund the two low count vials.

    Hi all

    My partner and I have been trying with #11942 - nice to hear from others that are too! We are in the TWW for IUI #5 right now - but all of our vials have had very good to excellent #'s - the lowest motility was over 11 mill, and the highest was 21 mill! So we have been very happy with the #'s, I am sorry that there have been low counts for other people.
    Which of you are still using 11942? Would love to keep in touch, we plan on sticking with him.

    Makes me nervous to hear so many with unacceptable numbers. I'm in the process of picking a 3rd donor as both previous have sold out. The first 2 donors I've had were excellent numbers, two vials were in the 80ks. Hope my 3rd choice is just as good...

    Thank you ktm2121, and congrats! @redcup72.. We bought 4 vials of this donor so we will probably continue with him until we run out... after that, i'm not sure. Is this your 5th iui with THIS donor? Just curious. Are you a member of inspire? Glad to hear this donor does have some decent vials! Good luck everyone!

    hey there rrgatlin!
    we just finished, unsuccessfully, our wait through tww #5 - we will try iui #6 at the end of Novemeber. All have been with 11942, and all of the vial #'s have been very good to excellent. If #6 is unsuccessful, we will be moving to IVF, since our Massachusetts health coverage will kick in then.
    We have bought enough vials of 11942 (hopefully!!!) for both my partner then myself to conceive, but as we all know as much as you plan, you can't control all the outcomes. But that is the hope.
    BTW iui #3 was successful but ended in a miscarriage around 7 weeks due to a chromosomal abnormality in the egg - nothing to do with 11942.
    No never heard of inspire - worth checking out? anyone else on there using 11942???

    Redcup72... i LOVE inspire! Sorry about your loss and unsuccessful IUI's. Its great you have insurance to cover IVF! I've been through it without insurance and it is EXPENSIVE! Good luck with everything :)

    Ok we just did iui #6 this am, and the counts for 11942 were low this time - 7 million. I know this is below the CCB guarantee, but our clinic always says they want to see over 5 million. What is everyone's thoughts on this?

    Redcup...good luck this month. I had my 4th IUI on the 25th. The fun TWW begins YAY! Not!

    Good luck to you as well kaylababy! we are only one day apart on the lovely tww!! did you use 11942 as well? do you remember what your numbers were on this and your other cycles? i am calling our doc today to get a summary of all of our counts....

    Well, ironically the one vial below the guarantee worked! BFP on Saturday. Anyone else have an update on 11942?
