Admin Question - Donor 14389

Has donor 14389 had any live births? I believe last time I checked, he had over 5 pregnancies. We had our second attempt with him this month and his numbers were around 5 million so we're wondering if this time around we didn't get a positive result if we should switch.

Thanks so much!

  • Hi P -

It's still a bit soon for reported births. The donor only became available 9 months ago.

5 million motile sperm is all that you need for an IUI. Numerous studies find that pregnancy rates with IUI are maximized with 5 million total motile donor sperm. The chances of a successful pregnancy via IUI do not increase with more sperm. 5 million total motile sperm offers the same opportunity for success as 25 million. You can read more about this here: https://cryobank.com/how-it-works/specimen-processing/specimen-information/

Please keep in mind that on average it takes 3-4 IUIs to achieve pregnancy.

  • Hi There,

I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if you could update the question. How many live births do you now have reported for donor #14389?

    Thank you!

  • @Jdf Yes, Donor 14389 does have reported births. If you have a pregnancy from this donor, you are eligible to join the Sibling Registry to access additional info that parents shared on the registry: https://cryobank.com/services/sibling-registry/
