Just started searching

Yup, I just started searching donors and so far my list is up to 5 potentials.

I'm one of those rare breeds. Single, born in 1970, bachelors in Facilities Management, love and run property management, no kids, no husband... yeah I know sounds like all the other typical single female. I'm also practicing celibacy and PUERTO RICAN.

Yes, I'm not your conventional American. As you can see by my birth year I'm getting dangerously close to not having my own kids. So before I get there I am opting for the sperm donor thing. It's funny I can't see myself without kids but I just can't see myself with them just yet, and yet I love them.

Tomorrow is my birthday. Thought I'd throw that out there. lol

I've been searching through these donors and I can't help but think these guys are guys i could have passed by walking in the streets. There are quite a few interesting fellows with traits I would love my child to have.

I don't know I'm just documenting my thoughts for my future little knuckling.

Back to work.xoxo

  • Congrats to those who have succeeded in their pregnancies. And Baby dust to all those more to come and those who are still trying.

    xoxo
  • Tried 12811 twice. Hoping this second time I come out Knocked up, lmao. Trying to make an old cliche positive.

Anyways, tomorrow I do the blood test.

I tell you one thing, I have an over abundance of eggs!

First time I had 11. With 3 mature eggs. Doc said, I was running close to having twins or even triplets so don't blame him if I did. LMAO.

This second time I had 10 on one side and 11 on the other side. And 1 big juicy egg as the nurse claimed. So tomorrow is my blood test. Hoping to be preggers.

For the rest of you still trying... i send you magic baby dust.

And those of you who already are preggers or have kids congrats!

If 12811 come out negative then I'm ordering 13293. I can't believe 13294 which is my third choice is already gone!
  • Good luck tomorrow. Baby dust!
  • Thank You xoxoxo bl6866

I was beginning to feel a lil tad lonely.

Any news yet on you? bl6866

Every time they inseminate I get the bad case of GAS. As if that wasn't enough... so do my parents... sympathy gas i guess.

Well, I send you some baby dust down your ways too, lol.

    xoxo
  • Hi Cameal. I was born in 1970, single and no kids too. I've done one round of IUI with no luck. Just did first round of IVF. ER was on Saturday. Seven retrieved, 3 mature, 1 fertilized and frozen. Another round then the plan is to transfer.

Lucky you have lots of eggs!!! Are you doing IUI or IVF?
  • Good luck tomorrow Cameal. Are you one of the strong willed women on here that managed to stay strong and not test at home? I couldn't even come close. Good for you!! I will be thinking about you tomorrow. It's always such a terribly long day between the bloodwork and phone call. I guess it's the finale to the long and terrible 2ww.

    Good luck!!!
  • I was successful with my third IUI and am 5 weeks pregnant at this point. I have my first ultrasound on the 20th where I should find out if its one or two. I'm super excited! I know the waiting and trying again has its own challenges, but don't give up hope. Wishing you the best today.
  • Baby dust Cameal.....
  • Test came out negative :-(

    Round 3

    Going for another donor.

IUI, coverage won't pay for the other.

Thanks for the baby dust gals.

I'm not whipped yet :-). I did wait to go to the doctors to take the blood test and then went to Barnes and Noble and forgot all about it with all the brand new books in there, lmao, I love books.

So I had to wait till the next day for the results. I try not to worry too much and stay in a meditative mode. It's not good for your health and if you are pregnant it's not good for the pregnancy.

Stupid phone acted up and I had my list of donors in there and when i got the replacement they wiped everything out of the old phone and transferred only pictures. Now I gotta see if I kept a list somewhere else. Thank God I printed their stuff but I hate looking through it all again.

Wait, I think I found it Donor 13293. Third choice was 13294 is retired and they were they only two where one was after the other numerically, lol.

    I'm so glad for you.

I think my problem is I'm overweight. With finals coming up, projects to do and a thesis to write it doesn't help. I'm not obese but for me I feel it ugh!.

It's harder for me to get pregnant while fat.

It's funny everyone else is anticipating and excited and I'm just taking it laid back. I don't want to be disappointed so I don't let their overindulgence in anticipation psyche me out.

I'm just more nervous on being a good mother.

I got baby names picked out.

Zachary Efrain P. and Sophia Lauren P.

    In future

Deiter Efrain P. and Anika Teresa P.

While I like the idea of my future kids having their own names I still want to give them something precious as a middle name with those who I admire. Efrain is my father's name, while Lauren is the name of a lawyer who assisted me with a very valuable legal education, Teresa is mine and my mom's name.

    Okay, back to the books.

Baby dust folks even the ones that are pregnant baby dust for a healthy baby. xoxo
  • I've also decided to be a single mom, been searching for donors found 3 I like but the biggest problem for me seems to be whether to choose an open or anonymous donor, help please comments welcomed
  • I went with an open donor. This way my son can search out his dad when the time is right. It can answer any questions he may have. He doesn't have to search him out if he doesn't want to. But I want him to make that decision when he is old enough. I wanted him to have a choice. There was a great article that came out this week about a guy who was an open donor and he keeps in touch with all of his offspring. He had no children of his own so he appreciates all of hte kids he fathered. Good luck on your journey.
