Should I pick a donor if he doesn't have any pregnancies?

I really like donor 13694, but he doesn't have any pregnancies listed. My husband doesn't want to use this donor because of this. Should no pregnancies be a deal breaker?

Thanks!

  • Sorry, I meant donor 14067, does he have any pregnancies??

    Thanks!!
  • Hi Alik -

Reported pregnancies are linked to the amount of time a donor has been available and/or the popularity of his characteristics. All of our donors go through our stringent screening process and are capable of achieving pregnancy.Less than 1% of applicants are chosen to be CCB donors: http://cryobank.com/How-It-Works/Donor-Qualification/

Unless you are looking to immediately connect with other clients that are pregnant with the same donor, it shouldn't be a deal breaker to choose a donor without reported pregnancies. Choosing a donor with reported pregnancies does not increase your chance of success.

For IUI cycles with donor sperm, studies have determined that the 5 predictive variables for clinical pregnancy rate include number of treatment cycles, number of mature follicles, cycle day for insemination, occurrence of ovulation at the time of insemination, and the age of the woman.

Also, Donor 14067 has only been available for about 4 months, so it's still a bit soon for reported pregnancies.
