Need advice, feeling hopeless :(

Hi Guys,
We are in a tough position and I just don't know what we should do, so I would like to ask you all for some advice.
We started with IVF for sex selection, as my husband has a genetic disease, and if we had a girl, the bad gene would be passed to her. We started off with 10 good eggs harvested. 4 dropped and we were left with 6 good eggs, but the cells multiplied very slowly, and by day 4, the fertilized eggs only had 6 cells rather than the 8 or more the doctor expected. After day 4, the cells stopped multiplying altogether.
Our doctor suggested we move on and try IUI with donor sperm as I was told my eggs "did not do well in the artificial environment outside of the body." Has anyone else ever heard anything like this?
We followed the doctor's advice and tried 3 cycles of IUI using donor #13171, but have not gotten pregnant.
We are not sure anymore if we should continue with IUI, or go back and try IVF again.
We would appreciate hearing about anyone else's experience with something like this, or any advice you might have
Feeling very hopeless :(
Thanks
