1 Vial Left

Brand new to all this. After looking and looking, I finally found 2 donors I like...but they each only have 1 vial left. UGH! My Dr wants a minimum of 2.

Is there any way to find out if someone has extras? Did any of you have to move on to "2nd choice" -- I don't like the idea of it.

I could wait longer for new donors but I am already 41.5 years old. Even though my hormone levels are great right now, my dr doesn't want me to wait too much longer.

Confused.

  • In the process of searching through full profiles, our top two choices sold out. We got on the waiting list and as it happens, both came back, but in the meantime we had chosen another top choice. It's a surreal process, and at first I was pretty upset about the unavailability, but I'm glad we chose who we did, and the emotions did ease after a couple more weeks in the choosing process. There really are lots of great choices.

One thing you might do is ask on the board for someone similar to your top choice. Especially if you can say what were the appealing features. It's hard, because of course it's competitive too, but worth asking.

Also, if you haven't already and you can spare the $250, I highly recommend the full access package. I found it completely maddening to sort and rank with just the basics, but once I upgrade to the full access, everything got much easier. The pictures made it easier to keep track of who was who, and the extra details really went a long way.

Good luck and baby dust to you!
  • I have another suggestion that would only apply if you are doing IVF. You can purchase the two vials available (one of each) and just clarify to your doctor what is your first preference and your second preference. When they do IVF, usually they only use one vial and the other one is just for back-up purposes...

Just my two cents.... Good luck to you :)
  • Thanks for the notes.

I did indeed by the premium subscription - totally worth it in my opinion. At this point, what's another $250?

Also, I am doing insemination. At least at this point. My dr believes I should be able to get pregnant without IVF based on all my test results. But we'll see....

Still searching for donor. And think I have a back-up. Just don't like the idea of "back-up" genes :)
