13283 - current stats? & more general questions

How many pregnancies have been reported for donor 13283 ?

Is he retired or still donating?

He is currently "featured" does this usually affect number of vials ordered? -- ie. has there been a surge, which could increase # pregnancies in the next year?

Also, I noticed on another sperm bank's website that after a donor reaches his maximum # of pregnancies, if additional vials are available, they are held for future "sibling" requests. Does California Cryo do this?

Final question- If we want to ship multiple vials (if our RE also has storage facilities), do we pay shipping for each vial or one fee per ship, regardless of the quantity?

  • Hi 2Ks -

Donor 13283 currently has less than 5 reported pregnancies. He is retired from our program, but he should have one final vial release later this month.

Our maximum goal is 25-30 families worldwide per donor. Regardless if a donor is featured or not, we limit the number of vials we collect in order to control this number. We also do our best to monitor pregnancies and will stop selling to new clients should a donor's reported pregnancies reach a certain point. On average, the number of families per donor ends up being closer to about 12-15.

If you think you may want to have another child later on, we highly recommend purchasing and storing vials for the future. We offer free storage with our Family Today/Family Tomorrow programs. Although we occasionally have vials available only for sibling use, more often times the donor sells out and clients are unable to purchase additional vials for a sibling.

The shipping cost is per shipment and not per vial, so you can ship multiple vials at once for the same price. Just please keep in mind that once vials leave our facility, they are no longer eligible for our Vial Buyback or Vial Exchange programs.
