Clomid

Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows of women having twins on clomid via artificial insemination? I heard it's rare to concieve twins over 40 with Clomid.

Does twins happen more via regular conception(having a partner) vs. insemination.

Thanks, the clomid produced 3 eggs for my IUI.

I was told by my doctor that side effects of Clomid include ovarian cysts and multiples.

    Good luck with your IUI.

According to my RE the chance of twins without Clomid or other fertility meds is about 3%. Clomid increases that rate to about 10%. The chance of triplets or additional multiples beyond that is very slim - less than 1%.

If your doctor is monitoring your cycles via ultrasound and are concerned about the slightly increased risk of multiples on Clomid, you can know whether you are producing multiple follicles and can always make the decision to skip the IUI that cycle. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns and see what they advise.
