Hi. My fiancé and I are in the process of picking a donor. What are certain things you looked for when picking? And has anyone used donor 14389? Thanks!

From our favorites list here was the order of importance:
1. Medical History
2. Education
3. Whether or not they had reported pregnancies or not
4. Professional and personal background
Once we narrowed down our favorites list we chose a few donors and then we began purchasing a la carte items such as additional childhood photos, donor conversation, personality traits, etc..
A few tips for you:
1. If you email or call the cryobank and provide them with donor IDs they will tell you their attractiveness score. It ranges from 1-10 with 8.5 being the highest score anyone has ever gotten. I was told that average is 5-6, above average is 7-8, above 8 is extremely attractive.
2. You can also call or email with donor IDs and request pregnancy status. They can tell you if they have less than 5 reported pregnancies or more than 5 reported pregnancies. Keep in mind this doesn't mean births, just pregnancies.
3. Utilize the bulletin boards and search tool to answer a lot of questions you have or thought you didn't have. You can find out a lot about donors you're interested in by searching their ID. People who have previously used them will report their sperm count and motility, miscarriages, and pregnancies. This actually narrowed our list down by finding out a couple favorites had low sperm counts or reports of twins. You can also bond with people who are also using your donor.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out! We are in our TWW (two week wait) with our second IUI.

Good luck on your iui! We are hopefully starting our first round in January!
If emailing is easier, you can email at crwitt87@aol.com.
Thanks again! Carrie
Glad I could help! It took me while to find it but you have to hit the search button on the top of this page in the left corner. From there you can search key words or phrases such as donor ID. Let me know if you still have issues!
Good luck!
