Hello! I'm interested in this donor, but I noticed that he has been in the program for a while. I guess my question is, if I were to choose this donor, how old would the specimen be? And does that make any impact? I've been hesitant to consider any of the donors with older numbers. Also, are you able to share how many pregnancies/births this donor has?

Donor 12635 has 5 or more reported pregnancies. His available vials are from donations made in 2012-2013.
Once sperm is frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen, it is viable for an indefinite amount of time. Once thawed, there is no measurable difference in quality between sperm frozen one year or ten. (There are news reports of cryopreserved donor sperm frozen for 40 years resulting in live births.)
I'm not sure if you are familiar with our Fertile Future program, but we also provide private storage to young adults prior to cancer therapy. Some of them are teens who may store their sperm for one or two decades until they are ready to start a family.

Nicole
