another letdown

in Single Mothers by Choice
From last week's egg harvest....8 harvested, 7 fertilized successfully, 5 grew within the first couple days but only 3 made it to freezing. I feel broken.

    I'm so sorry, jaimec. Of course, it only takes one to hatch, but a lot of work for so few -- it's still a letdown, as you know. I know, I've been there. One time I froze two. Another time - just one! And they didn't even make it to the blastocyst (day 5) stage.

    parisny - I'm sorry, but I have a hard time keeping everyone straight on here (lol)...so you had no success with IVF?
    Did they freeze before day 5? They waited until after with mine, so the 3 frozen did make it to blastocyst.

    Ah, jaimec, I am so sorry. I know this is hard for you, but I will continue to pray that one (or more) of those pretty little blastocysts turn into pretty little babies for you. <3

    I am having another retrieval and praying I get more.
