CF Carrier

My partner and I are trying for the first time in July. We have meet with our RE and have done a lot of tests. We feel great about him and he is confident everything is in working conditions.

My question is, with all the blood I have done (I am carrying), I found out I am a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis. I don't have but could pass in on to the baby if the donor is also a carrier. So we need to make sure the donor is not. Is this information provided in the medical info of the donors?

Thanks

  • Hi. I am 99% sure that all donors are tested for CF, and if they are carriers they are eliminated from the program. I got that info from the genetic counseling part of this website - the link is below. If you call the genetic counseling #, they can explain it to you in person. I had the same issue because I am a carrier for Canavan Disease......Good luck!!
