Selling vials

Hello,

I'm curious how easy or difficult it typically is to sell vials on this site? I'm considering trying out another donor, and still have 2 vials left with my first donor. I assume it just depends on the popularity of the donor...

Thanks!

  • What is the donor number?
  • They actually have a buy back program if you meet the requirements...

Requirements to participate in the CCB Vial Buy-Back Offer:

Vials must be purchased and stored at CCB and never leave the premises
Client may sell back vials within 0-36 months of the original purchase date
Vials must meet CCB's current testing standards
Client account must be in good standing (no outstanding balance due)
Vials may only be sold back by the original purchaser
  • Hi Seattle -

If the vials are in storage at CCB and have not been shipped out, feel free to contact Client Services. If you would like to switch donors, they can give you more information on our Vial Exchange program or our Vial Buy Back program where you would receive 50% of what you paid for the vials.

  • What are my options if the vials have already been shipped (in this instance, to Seattle Reproductive Medicine)?
  • If they have already been shipped CCB can't do anything with them. They can't transfer them to anyone or buy them back or exchange them so your best bet would be to find out if your office will ship them and try to find a mom who used that donor to sell to. If that donor isn't retired there probably isn't a lot of luck selling them though as most want to buy directly from CCB to ensure they can sell them back or transfer them to someone else. Good luck!
  • how much do you want for your vial? how many do you have? ty
  • I have one vial, it's at Seattle Reproductive Medicine. I paid $615 plus $100+ shipping, will sell for $600.
  • is that including the shipping? thanks
  • I can ask SRM what the process and cost is for shipping to another clinic, and get back to you. What clinic would these be shipped to? Perhaps we could just split the shipping costs?
  • boston ivf in massachusetts
  • Hi Ata -

I'm not sure if you discussed your plans with your physician yet, but I would suggest asking him/her if they would be able to accept vials that are shipped from another clinic.

Since the shipment is not coming from CCB, it will not have the paperwork with your name on it indicating the details of the vial,it will not have the CCB security strap on the tank showing that it was not tampered with, and it will also not be eligible for the CCB specimen guarantee.

I just wanted to make sure that you are aware of this before you have the specimen shipped.

Also, since we will not have a record of this vial shipment, it is important to make sure that you report a pregnancy/birth to us.

    Best of luck,

  • Thanks for the additional guidance, Nicole...much appreciated.

Ata, I did confirm with SRM that they have the ability to ship to Boston IVF. I am waiting for approx. shipping cost, but they said I'd just need to sign their consent to transfer specimens and arrange shipment with Boston IVF. The samples will be released under my name. A copy of the SOR sent with the shipment will have my info (name, DOB, MPI #) on it and the cane itself that holds the vial will have my last name and MPI#. Here is their website in case you want to check out the facility: http://www.seattlefertility.com/

If you're still interested, just let me know.
  • Hi Sue, sorry to say as much as I wanted to buy that donor boston ivf didnt allow me to get a transfer from different clinic. So I guess I have to choose another donor. Thanks again.
  • Still looking to sell one vial of 13188 if anyone is interested. I'm currently 9+ weeks along and got pregnant on IUI attempt #2. It's stored at my fertility clinic, not CCB, so we'd have to arrange shipment from there.

    Thanks!
